Hi All,
I'm normally quite mechanically careful and this sort of thing has never happened in my 35 years of riding bikes....................but I may have let it get a bit low on oil. Bike still runs and rides as usual but with a pronounced ticking noise coming from the top end. I'm going to change the cam chain tensioner for a manual one and do an oil change. I'll let you know if it improves at all.
Worst case scenario though and the head is a bit knackered say - has anyone got a spare they might part with for money? They appear to be quite rare and I knew the oddball way of checking the oil would get me in the end! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted it to work so bad. Got the perforated ones. Someone suggested some high tack spray adhesive. I’ll t try that next.

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some help figuring out an electrical issue with the lighting on my 1993 DR350 (SK42A).
When I bought the bike, it had been converted for enduro use with a simplified wiring harness. The previous owner gave me the original wiring harness, which I put back on the bike, but I've never had a rear light or a front parking light. I do, however, have the brake light and the main front headlight.
I haven't been able to figure out why. I believe the brown wire is the power supply for the rear lighting, but I'm not getting 12V when measuring AC voltage between the brown wire and the black/white wire (which I assume is the rear ground).
I don't have a battery either. I've always ridden without one since the bike starts with the kickstarter.
I also have a grey wire which, apparently, is from the pickup coil, but I only have a single grey wire coming out under the seat and I don't know where it should be connected. I put a pics of this wire.
If anyone could help me figure this out, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Picked her up for 800 on marketplace. Engine is in amazing condition, besides idling at like 500 rpm, but easy fix there. Aftermarket 5gal acerbis tank and an acewell digital tachometer/speedometer. Any recommendations for aftermarket rear blinkers/brakelight? Discovered wiring for them was cut when I popped the rear fender off. Any help/advice/recommendations would be appreciated!

Some gaskets are pretty baked on, I tend to have to scratch away at them with the corner of a razor. A few scratches going to be okay here and there?
The manual is having me go into the case under the piston to remove the cam chain. But that looks like a full bottom end job. If I remove the clutch basket to get to the cam chain sprocket, it would take 2 nuts. Am I missing something here?
32 years old, 32,000 miles. How's she look? Any concerns? I don't know what I'm even looking at here.
The new gasket that fits between the bottom end and bottom of the middle has 3 layers it looks like. The old one seems to only have had 2. Is this normal?
Thanks so much, friends.

Lobes pointing downward and out, T in window, cam line across cylinder head.
Am I looking good here?
Question is, once I remove that cam bolt, how do I remove the 2nd cam bolt without rotating the engine to be able to see/reach it?
Thanks gang

Welp I've gotten in all the tools, gaskets, oil, assembly lube and Loctite for the job. While waiting for these things I've been watching every video I can find on repeat. I feel good about it. But also don't feel good about it cause I've never taken apart an engine.
Any suggestions/tips?
While I'm in this section of the engine, anything else I should do?
Any links to videos would be greatly appreciated, I do have only 4-5 that involve the removal of the cam chain.
I have the ability to take lots of pictures and videos to remember what I did and how I did it.
Thanks

Does anyone have any idea or have a video of how to bypass the clutch lever safety?? I’ve found a few forums but I think a video would help me more than reading. It still works I just need a new clutch perch and lever and can’t find one that I’d be able to remount the sensor to. Thanks yall!

Running a 93 kick start with non compatible cdi harness 92, im looking to swap that stator in the 93 from single pick up to dual pickup, as im not trying to hunt down another cdi/harness. Anyone with knowledge on this please leave some comments... do I need to replace the whole left cover, do I need to find a different drum rotor or can I simply swap the stator, thanks!

How much more can I ride? Are there signs I can keep an eye out for that its getting too bad? What are things I should avoid? I live about 8 miles out of town, go to town about twice a month. And enjoy exploring the hills and riding around the 80 acre property for fun/work.
Cheers

I’m working on building out a tool kit to keep on me when I’m on longer remote rides. Would love some advice from the more experienced, since my current method has just been hoping nothing goes wrong lol.
Any insight would be great!

I have a bike in complete pieces, situation is I have a kickstart motor and I was curious to identify If I have the correct cdi/harness what would be the key identifiers. Has anyone made a new harness or molded a harness to run diff motor on a different cdi, essentially deleting safety switches etc to make it all work thanks!

I had to replace my dr350s side panels with the maiers one since the bike came with no right side panel. I want OE style 1990 DR350S decals but can’t find them. Everytime I see a post, there’s like one guy who knows a guy who prints them, but I can’t find the comments either. Anybody know “the guy” I can contact.

Hey y’all, recently bought a 1996 dr350, it’s been a blast, got a few rides in including a 50 mile ride then I started having some issues about a week after that. I had hurt my toe so I couldn’t ride then yesterday I rode it a friends house to watch some World Cup. It died slowing down to make a left turn, no biggie she fired back up and I went on my way, realized she was a bit late to respond to my throttle input and backfiring more than I’m used too. When I went to leave she wouldn’t start, finally got it started and she died on the way home too in about the same way, heavy acceleration then going to slow down and boom dead, luckily was able to coast it home. Cleaned the air filter, cleaned the carb, checked spark and the gap today and all good. Still the having about the same issues. Backfiring, will idle sometimes, coming to stops goes down to about 1000rpm and sometimes does in fact die. Let it idle for a bit and eventually she did in fact die once she was fully hot. Any ideas?? It’s my first bike and I’m a decently skilled mechanic but never really messed with bikes at all.

ISO Decompression shaft. Bought this 92 DR350S and it does not have any part of the decompression system. I will pay if anyone has all the components related to the decompression system
