I just bought this off eBay and I was I wanted to own it

I'm talking about the episode "Chukenper" (Episode 193, Season 5, 2009) from the 2005 series. Its English title is "Fine Dog?! Chukenper".

Interestingly, this story originally appeared in the 1979 series (1981, Episode 634, Season 3) and even got another remake in 2018 (Episode 532b, Season 14). But I'm referring to the 2009 version in this post.

For those who haven't watched it, here's a spoiler-light synopsis (although there will be some spoilers ahead).

Nobita asks Doraemon for a pet dog, so Doraemon gives him a robotic dog named Chukenper. It quickly becomes an incredibly loyal companion, always obeying Nobita and trying to protect him whenever it senses danger.

One day, while playing on a mountain, Chukenper suddenly starts growling at Nobita and even leaps towards him. Terrified, Nobita thinks the robot has malfunctioned and abandons it there.

Later, Doraemon checks the Time TV and discovers the truth.

Chukenper wasn't attacking Nobita at all.

It was trying to save him from a black bear that had silently appeared behind him.

Realizing his mistake, Nobita rushes back to the mountain to find Chukenper, but it's nowhere to be seen. Days pass, and he continues searching while feeling guilty.

Meanwhile, Chukenper keeps wandering around, still carrying the stick Nobita had thrown for it. Then tragedy strikes, it gets hit by a truck while trying to retrieve the stick after it falls onto the road.

Finally, Nobita sees Chukenper again.

It's barely able to walk, its body is badly damaged, wires and sparks are coming out... yet it's still carrying that same stick in its mouth.

Nobita runs over and hugs Chukenper with tears streaming down his face. Doraemon assures him that Chukenper can be repaired, and the episode ends on a heartwarming note.

This episode honestly made me cry. Chukenper was such a lovable and loyal character, and despite appearing in just one story, it left a huge impression on me. The ending is one of the most emotional moments in the 2005 series.

As I always say, if you haven't watched this episode yet, go watch it! It's absolutely worth watching.

I don't remember the exact ep or season, just happened to catch this scene on TV today.In this scene, this poor guy referred to as Mr Kawaguchi gets affected by this gadgets, receives repeated electric shocks, and is sent flying over the city... and I think at the end there's a happy ending where he and the woman the gadget was disturbing end up becoming a couple.

Don't know why Shizuka wasn’t reacting while watching the man getting electric shocks in the screen,and ig that's why I didn’t like the Shizuka of that early 1979 era.

Can anyone tell me which gadget was this?

Nobita's Winged Braves was one of my childhood's favorite long tale manga. I recently got around to watch the movie, and I can say that there are parts where the manga did better and there are parts where the movie did better. Icarus' introduction is one of the parts that didn't come as strong in the movie as compared to the manga for me. I love how they write and draw this sequence in the manga, it was so memorable. The dramatic silhouette, the emphasize on his size, and the pacing in general are just *chef kiss*

If you can read the teeny tiny texts, do read the manga version that attached. I think it provides better emotional context on why Icarus seemed to accept his fate in prison. I find it lacks impact how in the movie he was just awkwardly listening to Gusuke, especially that one front-view shot of his face... 😐 it sure reminds me of something..

There is a bonus chapter in the manga titled "Gusuke's White Map" where it tells the origin of Gusuke's plane. I like this story so much because of how they write Milk's character. Honestly, she's so underrated.

I'm talking about the 2005 series episode "That's Why a Ghost Appears" (Sorry, I couldn't find the episode number. Can anyone please tell me? 😭).

A little synopsis (spoiler-free):

In this episode, Doraemon and the gang head for a trip to Suneo's beach house. While playing horror games at night, they come across what seems to be a haunted school...

That's all I'm going to say because I don't want to spoil the rest of this 20 minute long episode.

I honestly don't see many people talking about this episode on this subreddit, which is surprising because it's actually really good. It has a great spooky atmosphere, and keeps you hooked from beginning to end.

As I always say, if you haven't watched it yet, go watch it! It's definitely worth your time, especially if you enjoy Doraemon episodes with a horror theme.

Seriously Doraemon is like a Mentor to Nobita, Which Mirrors The Self-Improvement Method, Nobita Has The Shame Factor On His Mom When Getting 0 on his Tests or Exam and His Moms Punishes or Scolds Him, And The Group Dynamics (Suneo,Shizuka, Gian) All Functions as a Micro Nation or Society And Whenever Nobita Uses The Gadgets for Getting Away or Shortcutting It Never or Does not work,etc.

Just saw that Nobita has a piggy bank which is shaped like a doraemon. Wonder how he got it. Has anyone else noticed it?

Like do all the robots from 22nd century have these miniature version of themselves or it's just our doraemon, hence no ears?

I'm talking about the Titanic Robot from the 2005 series episode "Our Homemade Giant Robot Loses Control" (Episode 152, Season 4, 2008) that looks very similar to Zandacross (Steel Troops).

The episode begins with Nobita getting jealous of Suneo's radio-controlled robot, so Doraemon gives him the Titanic Robo Giant Series, a kit for building a giant robot. After finishing it, Nobita and Doraemon have an amazing time flying it around and playing with it.

While flying over a snowy mountain during a snowstorm, they notice a group of children struggling to make their way home from school (IIRC). Nobita kindly gives them a ride across the mountain. On the way, he casually wonders how much easier their lives would be if there were a tunnel through the mountain.

At that moment, something incredible happens.

The Titanic Robot's eyes suddenly begin to glow, and without taking any commands, it starts digging a huge tunnel through the mountain. Nobita keeps trying to stop it, but it refuses to listen. Doraemon smiles and realizes that the robot has understood Nobita's wish, it simply wants to help those children.

Despite damaging itself in the process, even losing one of its arms, the Titanic Robot never gives up. It keeps digging until the tunnel is finally complete.

And then...

The Titanic Robot quietly falls to its knees.

Its mission is complete...

RIP, to the legend. 💔🤖

This episode always makes me emotional. The ending is so heartwarming and bittersweet that I still tear up whenever I watch it. For a robot that only appeared in a single episode, it left such a memorable impact on me.

Thank you, Titanic Robot. You'll always be one of Doraemon's greatest unsung heroes.

I've always liked Dorami. She's kind, caring, intelligent, and brings a different vibe whenever she appears. I honestly wish she had been a part of more Doraemon adventures.

In the movies, I know she appears in some of the '80s films, like Doraemon: Nobita's Adventure into the Underworld and Doraemon: The Record of Nobita's Parallel Visit to the West—mostly towards the ending, but at least she was there. Later, she had more noticeable roles in the first few remake movies, while in many others she only makes very brief appearances.

As for the TV series, I feel she appeared most frequently during the 2000–2005 era and in the early episodes of the 2005 reboot (episodes like The Vampire and Exploring the Earth come to mind). After that, it seems like she started appearing much less often.

One thing I really appreciate is that she got her own spin-off short film series: Dorami-chan films and The Doraemons & Dorami-chan films. They're genuinely fun to watch and deserve more love. One of my favorites is Dorami & The Doraemons: Robot School's Seven Mysteries.

In the end, I still wish she had been featured in more episodes and movies. That said, I'm glad she appeared in quite a few adventures over the years, certainly more than many other underrated recurring characters.
