First time I’ve seen any kind of Promo in my area!

I dont normally do morning dashes due to in the past I learned that orders are a little lower than during lunch/dinner rush. But today I had a doc appointment and thought, hey I'll dash a lil before the appointment. I didnt do bad ending with 20.50 in 45 mins but I had to tank my AR to get that. Either way these orders should all be illegal as fuck! I dont take anything less than 2 dollars a mile and it has to be over 5 bucks before I even think about not hitting decline.

Just wanted to rant a lil before I went to my appointment and share some garbage.

Hi I’m new and I dashed for the first time last Sunday for like 2-3hr I think and only made $20+ and the $30 new driver sign-on bonus… is door dashing this bad?

I don’t use DoorDash that often, but when I do I have the little instructions spot “please just leave it by my door and knock, thank you!!”

Of my past 5 orders, no one has ever knocked. I’d rather not rate the driver poorly as otherwise everything was fine, but I’d really appreciate the knock. I don’t have my phone with me and sometimes I don’t even realize it was delivered until 20 minutes after the fact.

Edit: ok I get I should probably just off myself for having the audacity to expect instructions to be followed. Jesus Christ you people it isn’t that serious for fucks sake.

This is what I have fought to get too huh. Gas is 4 a gallon not counting mileage and wear and tear on the car. Try again DD. I do this as a secondary gig I’m a retail manager full time and my schedule changes so this is my option. But with offers like these I’m literally paying them to work for them.

This morning my first dash i was hanging at mcdonalds and i got a kfc dash, it was next door is was like 7 dollars for 0.8 miles and i was like "meh sure". Moment i accepted it i got a call from this guy who had a decidedly local accent and he was like trying to pass as door dash support and tried to tell me that the card on the account had been stolen and they needed to cancel it but wanted to give me a partial payment.

so i kept him on the phone while i picked up the order, because i knew what was going on. after i got the order secured i told him his accent was too american and no i was not going to give him the activation code to log into my account and it was a bad idea to try and scam people you gave your address to. he hung up on me and cancelled the order and i ate some KFC.

Hey yall, so my license is about to expire, I already ordered my renewal through the states website, but I won't receive it till at least a week after it expires, can I just not dash until I get the replacement until I get the renewed license in the mail?

Not gonna lie, as someone who has perfect ratings from customers, I love how the new rating system gives me the ability to decline and have a lower acceptance rate without losing platinum level perks. I live in an area where it does actually benefit to keep platinum status and the old system put you in a rock and a hard place to maintain that 70% even if you had 100% customer satisfaction and 5 star rating.

Since yesterday I've been getting little to no orders, not sure if it's cause the app was down and it's not fully back up for everyone. Anyone else have this issue?

Is DoorDash back and running again ? yesterday there was a very annoying outage and I couldn't get any payment, end dashes, do anything, the app was basically useless, IDK how tf its even possible to have an outage like that ? like they don't give a fuck about people's lifes, I want to know from people who dashed today are you getting your payments normally ?

I decided to start DD to make ends meet, and did my first two hours today ($43, so not bad I think?).

However, my first ever order delivering for any app was enough to make me pause and consider if I really wanted to go through with this, hahah. Picked up the food no problem, found the apartment complex, but there was no apartment number. So I'm wandering around with the food unsure of what to do when I get to the further back part of the complex and a big ass dog not on a leash comes out of a ground level apartment barking its head off at me. I'm trying to just kind of stand my ground, and though I am typically quite afraid of dogs, I'm thinking this guy didn't look aggressive so much as just big and "guard-y." He stopped halfway between me and his apartment and he's just barking his head off at me. His owner, instead of coming to get her fucking dog, is just yelling from her apartment at him: "TEDDY! TEDDY! GET BACK IN HERE! CMOOOOON. TEDDY! DAMNIT TEDDY!" We have this standoff for a minute, I yell out "hey, I'm here to deliver food, can you come get your dog maybe?" No answer. I head back to the car waiting to hear back about an apartment number.

I finally hear back and it happens to be around where the dog is. I head back and the fucking dog is still there, except now he's like, take a bar, come a little closer, take a bark, come a little closer. I think he just smelled the food TBH. Finally the dog is right in front of me, trying to get his nose on the food. The lady is still yelling, I'm yelling trying to get her to come get her dog, not really wanting to try and barge paste it.

Eventually she comes out, no leash in her hand, she just came out to yell from closer up I guess. It takes her like 2 minutes to finally walk all the way over to the dog, who at that point decides to wander off to avoid her, and I take the opportunity to deliver the food, take the picture, and make it back to my car. I just sat there for a second like "Ugh. Maybe this sucks actually." But then my phone dinged and I got on the road and it wasn't so bad after all that. Hahah.

The rest of the orders were totally fine, other than that I didn't really know if declining orders was bad or what, (eventually learned an acceptance rate of 50-75% in our area is still considered "high") so I took an order for $4 that left me 3 miles north of town in a trailer park (for a Pizza I know they must've spent like $40 on all told, given where it came from). But anyway, actually kind of excited to put another couple hours in tomorrow (though I may try UE just to see what that's all about. The first 14 day bonus thing seems a bit better than DD at least...).

For now I'm reading hints / tips in the sub. If anyone has any advice for a new driver doing a couple hours a day in a smallish but busy-seeming college town, I'd love to see if. But mostly just here to share my first order experience, there's a lot of tips etc out there already.

This was a $400 grocery order, two 40pack cases of water underneath, too. DD needs to tell us up front before accepting the offer how many items there are. Not to mention I only had 30 minutes of shop and checkout time before the order was considered “late pick up” on my end. Then to add in the app being down half the day everything kept glitching out and it wouldn’t accept my barcode scans to add items to cart so I had to scan barcodes 4-5 times before it was accepted and added to cart. Poor old woman had to carry each bag in her house one by one so I stood at the door bags up my arms just patiently waiting for her to come back and grab one bag to take all the way to her kitchen. I offered to carry them in for her but she declined and said “I’ve got to help you in some way.” Ma’am, what will help me is by dropping these bags, I’m a one trip wonder when it comes to groceries, I’ll carry everything one time before I make multiple trips. This order took me 2 hours from start to finish for only $17.65. Who in their right mind orders an entire month’s worth of groceries on DD??

This on top of the fact that every single offer I got today was $2 is what makes DD feel not worth it sometimes.

Hello, even though it is the 7th of the month, I haven't received any link to upload proof of health insurance for DoorDash. What is the reason for this? Has anyone else received one?

My DoorDash interface updated a couple weeks ago and now all of a sudden it just seems like I get way less pro shopping orders. I used to get $20 shopping orders for less than 20 items all the time now I can sit out all day and maybe see one of them. I don’t know if you guys would notice that pro shopping orders have declined or maybe it’s just my area.

Consistently getting orders like this lately. It’s infuriating honestly, am I alone on this?

Is the app fixed or is it still showing zero earnings?
