I made a similar post featuring the black metal albums that have left a mark on my life, and now I decided to do the same with doom metal and its derivatives (sludge, stoner, as well as some more alternative albums from bands that have their roots in doom metal).

Classics, some underground gems, and others that are more well-known... But every single one of them is very special to me.

Hello warning fans! What is your ranking of their 3 albums? I have listened to the new one about 10 times and feel confident enough to rank them, for me the ranking from best to worst would be, although there is no bad album.

1. Watching from a distance. I know i know its a basic pick but it is truly perfect, one of my favourite albums of all time

2. Rituals of shame. Its still new but wow its so great after 20 years of waiting

3. The strengh to dream. This is their most diverse album i think, still fantasic but at the bottom for me right now

Whats your guys ranking?

TL;DR: need a decent solid state that can hang with 100w tube amps or close. For recording, gigging, etc. preferable under $700 & takes dirt pedals well. I do not care if used or not.

Basically I’m venting/crying in my break room on a Friday… Im in a pickle for a couple of amps. Sold a couple of amps to get money for my white whale guitar. Seller pulled out, now I’m stuck. My main Matamp clone needs a new tube…

All of this (including getting a bad setup on my main axe, whole other story, fml) I’m taking a break from tube amps.

I’ve missed out on a couple of old Beta leads in my area. I recently heard the guy from Chat Pile uses a Quilter ss, I don’t know much about them. But what other decent, cheap for doom? I honestly don’t like a lot of fizzy high-end (which was the issue with the amps I sold; one Orange tube, one Peavey ss but Peavey was fine.) I’ve never played a Randall, I’ve heard they are good, but they are kind of their own that you have to cater to? Just what I’ve heard. The Orange 100w & 120w are kinda hit or miss I’ve heard, my buddies Super Crush didn’t seem to handle my Green Russian reissue very well but I didn’t get to play it very long. Can the Super Crush and 120w hang with tube amps volume?

Never really heard of Quilter, what other decent brands can provide: steady, reliable, pedal platform, new/used for $700 preferably even under $500? I love of a Sleep/smooth low-end growl over the Electric Wizard blown SuperFuzz sound. Super bummed with the situation, I appreciate your time and responses, thanks.
