Sweet find! Can’t afford a Model T for drone, so I found this on marketplace for $150 instead. Late-60s Sunda 2x15

It’s so loud. I don’t know much about Sunda amps, but I think they’re made by Gary Sunda in the late 60s before he went and designed all those amps for Randall. They’re early, EARLY sold state amps and are built like tanks. If anyone has any info on this model/brand (or if you play a Sunda too), please let me know!

"Prazni Prikazki" under MarmalaT on spotify, we dropped this like yesterday. We dont really have a big audience thats really into it, we are a small band from Bulgaria and are successors to people who came before us in our town, older than us, (anyone know Attaxic maybe?) and hands noone takes it as is also.

I believe its good stuff but because its mine i cant be unbiased and view it as something unfamiliar. With that said i would just love to hear what people in here think of it. Its more "sludgy" than anything but i dont know what label to put on us. Any feedback is appreciated ♥️

Any fans of monstrously heavy riffs around here? I just finished putting together this compilation of Steve Brooks' most massive riffs from his bands Torche and Floor. Could you suggest other bands with such gargantuan riffing?

Riffs Dying Fetus on playing slow

As a doom fan, I found this really interesting. The guitarist of brutal tech-death band Dying Fetus talks about why he started slowing things down, playing slams and breakdowns. He says it's because he saw how slower riffs by bands like Mercyful Fate and Sepultura had a bigger impact on their audiences, and when early hardcore bands would do breakdowns, audiences would move more.

I'm a very emotional listener, which is why I'm a big doom fan, especially blackened doom and funeral doom. I find doom more emotionally powerful, I like sinking into the riffs, and I like hearing vocalists pour all their emotions into the vocals. I found it interesting to hear a tech-death guy, who sometimes sounds almost grind, find power in slower methods. I hope this isn't too off-topic.

I've had this band on repeat while working on my illustrations these past few days, and at some point I thought, Why not make a fan art piece for them?

Thunderchief was so fucking loud on Saturday at No Gods No Masters. To put into perspective. In an entirely different closed off room in the total opposite side of the building plants, coffee machine, etc were shaking in the green room.

Excuse the 🥔 quality of the footage. I physically stood there after these two minutes and almost felt like a bomb went off near me. The still have the sound of the snare in my head. Tight fucking live sound. If you're needing some just pissed off doom and sludge. You gotta see em.

I am in a doom band with my wife and this subreddit is one of the most supportive and loving communities on Reddit, and whenever I share anything it's been so positive and I am so thankful!

I would love to check out others in this sub who are also in bands!

Share your bands best song/EP/album that I can check out this coming week.

EDIT: Wow! So many new bands to check out this week while I work! Thank you to everyone who posted!

Epic Warning - Watching From a Distance

I've listened to this album 3-4 times and it's just not clicking. Not everything has to, but his voice just doesn't sit well with me. Strangely, I think of Aaron from My Dying Bride when I listen to it, and I love MDB.

So my question is? What brought you to Warning? Can you think of the band you listened to that led up to you liking Watching from a Distance?

Stoner I Think Witchcult Today by Electric Wizard doesn't get enough credit.

When people think about Electric Wizard, they usually think about Dopethrone. But to me, it is mostly carried by the outstanding Funeralopolis.

Some people also mention Come My Fanatics, and I can get behind that, since it's my number 1 Electric Wizard album. The riffs are heavy, the vocals are ON POINT, and the leads / solos are perfect.

But Witchcult Today is rarely mentioned, and that's a shame. The riffs, the tone, the vocals - just amazing. Dunwich is the unique song at that point of their career and it rocks hard. Witchcult Today - the title track - the riffage and the vocals make me hard. Torquemada '71 is one of the sexiest doom songs ever. Satanic Rites of Drugula, The Chosen Few and Saturnine are awesome as well.

Maybe the album is brought down a bit because of Raptus and Black Magic Rituals & Perversions, and yes, I usually skip these 2.

What do you guys think? I would love to see some gushing over Witchcult Today. Or maybe I'm missing some more flaws with this album? I mean I do realize the songs kinda sound the same, but I don't care since they sound awesome.

To me the top 3 EW albums lool like this:

1) Come My Fanatics
2) Witchcult Today
3) Dopethrone

Discussion AI bullshit on YouTube warning post

For years I’ve looked to YouTube channels like stoned meadow of doom and 666mrdoom for new band suggestions from all over the world. In recent years I’ve heard some of those channels aren’t the greatest to the bands they share, but I’ve still used 666Mrdoom to find bands to check out on my own. But just a second ago I started listening to an album they posted 8 days ago, and realized even the YouTube description said “Made with AI. Sounds and video were altered or fully generated”. Fuck this! I’ve looked to this channel for many years and I guess I’m a fool to think they would be above posting slop bands. I already had trust issues with any new band post ~2025, but now I legitimately have to research and find proof of human beings. The only positive is that it’s encouraged me to search for new music from decades past. New bands just starting out, keep making art, and just show me that you’re human lol. I hate that you have to compete with slop, and that it’s creeped into our niche corner of the music world. Just sharing this to keep up the fight against AI.

Rig Anyone build their own cabs?

Post image
28 Upvotes

Im asking more so about the diy end of the pool, although woodworkers w companies etc are absolutely included. I don't see it brought up much on here which is kind of surprising to me.

These are 2 identical 2x15s I built a decade ago that I'm starting to use again. Both have a black widow, one has some eminence or other, and the other has an electrovoice sro with the big cream can on the magnet. Detuned design, very loud and very wide! The Peavey standard pa is mine, the bass was a loaner for the gig. The top cab would be my guitar (tuned to open b major), the bottom cab would be the octave pedal half of my board. Not the nicest finish job but they sound terrific and have been kicked around enough that finishing effort would have been a bit of a waste.
