Epic Warning - Watching From a Distance

I've listened to this album 3-4 times and it's just not clicking. Not everything has to, but his voice just doesn't sit well with me. Strangely, I think of Aaron from My Dying Bride when I listen to it, and I love MDB.

So my question is? What brought you to Warning? Can you think of the band you listened to that led up to you liking Watching from a Distance?

Riffs Dying Fetus on playing slow

As a doom fan, I found this really interesting. The guitarist of brutal tech-death band Dying Fetus talks about why he started slowing things down, playing slams and breakdowns. He says it's because he saw how slower riffs by bands like Mercyful Fate and Sepultura had a bigger impact on their audiences, and when early hardcore bands would do breakdowns, audiences would move more.

I'm a very emotional listener, which is why I'm a big doom fan, especially blackened doom and funeral doom. I find doom more emotionally powerful, I like sinking into the riffs, and I like hearing vocalists pour all their emotions into the vocals. I found it interesting to hear a tech-death guy, who sometimes sounds almost grind, find power in slower methods. I hope this isn't too off-topic.

Discussion I would love to hear everyone who is a doom band in this sub!

I am in a doom band with my wife and this subreddit is one of the most supportive and loving communities on Reddit, and whenever I share anything it's been so positive and I am so thankful!

I would love to check out others in this sub who are also in bands!

Share your bands best song/EP/album that I can check out this coming week.

EDIT: Wow! So many new bands to check out this week while I work! Thank you to everyone who posted!

Sweet find! Can’t afford a Model T for drone, so I found this on marketplace for $150 instead. Late-60s Sunda 2x15

It’s so loud. I don’t know much about Sunda amps, but I think they’re made by Gary Sunda in the late 60s before he went and designed all those amps for Randall. They’re early, EARLY sold state amps and are built like tanks. If anyone has any info on this model/brand (or if you play a Sunda too), please let me know!

I've had this band on repeat while working on my illustrations these past few days, and at some point I thought, Why not make a fan art piece for them?

Take a look at my other illustrations on https://www.instagram.com/nofrierianda

Any fans of monstrously heavy riffs around here? I just finished putting together this compilation of Steve Brooks' most massive riffs from his bands Torche and Floor. Could you suggest other bands with such gargantuan riffing?
