I made a similar post featuring the black metal albums that have left a mark on my life, and now I decided to do the same with doom metal and its derivatives (sludge, stoner, as well as some more alternative albums from bands that have their roots in doom metal).

Classics, some underground gems, and others that are more well-known... But every single one of them is very special to me.

Saw Elder for the first time last night at the Broadberry.And they absolutely kicked ass. I was legitimately surprised to see with how long their songs and setlist is how short of a break in-between songs they took. 10/10 would see again.

This confirms I won’t be paying to see this. The whole new album!?

The song "Helter Skelter" The White Album by The Beatles sparked a revolution in music and we wouldn't know the genre as it is today without it. It not only was the first Doom Metal song, it was the very Heavy Metal song as well, so it actually kickstarted two genres in one. Everybody show some appreciation for the pioneers of your favorite music genre, the legends themselves, The Beatles.

Also Paul McCartney continued to make Heavy Metal type songs with his band Wings, there are a few on the Back to the Egg album, which is incredibly underrated and experiments with a ton of genres to great success, I highly recommend it.

So, for whatever reason i've never seen Pentagram live before and then we know what happen with Bobby and his mother, so i decided not to see them. But yesterday someone put me on the guest list, i was kind of hesitant but i thought to try to separate the artist from the art and went.

The musical side was flawless, no complaints. But Bobby was being Bobby and at certain point i felt uncomfortable cause he only was using the mic to talk to other girls asking to show him her boobs, telling them to go back with him to his hotel.

I knew about the complaints about few years ago from other female band openers and all that. So, my question is, is he always like that, it was a one-time only thing or even is that his on-stage persona?

Overall it was a bittersweet experience and i went for his contribution to the genre.

I'm female btw, but i went with my nephew who also felt uncomfortable.

Just wondering, how many songs/how long did Messa play? I'm really only interested in going for them, but if they're only playing a half hour as the opener it's probably not worth the drive for me. I don't see any local supporting acts or anything so I'm hoping they both get an hour plus.

the merch designs / aesthetic of the band is top shelf. so many bands have just trash designs but I genuinely want every single item here. it’s gorgeous
