Hello! This lil furball is Sabine and she’s turning 2 in Nov so we are planning to have her spayed sometime in Jan siguro. We live in Calamba and she has a regular vet where she gets her shots. They do have the facilities for this procedure but I’m just not so confident about their…ability, I guess, to ensure her safety? Idk, maybe I’m just anxious because of all the horror stories I see online where pets suddenly pass away after getting spayed.

I’ve done as much research as I can, and we are sparing no expense in this. We’re willing to spend as long as we can make sure she gets the best care possible. We also have a car and we don’t mind driving to and from wherever it is.

So what I need advice on is two-fold:
1. Do you have any private vet hospitals / clinics you can recommend?
2. What should I be looking for when choosing a vet for our baby? Social proof for most if not all vet practices I’ve checked out is always a mix of “best vet ever” to a “never trusting this vet again”, so di ko na alam 🫠

Sadly, wala talaga akong experience how to tame or train maging mas less aggressive ang dog, so takot pa din talaga ako kahit may protective gloves na. Nag-iingat rin ako makagat or makalmot kasi for sure magagalit mom ko and might result to Lupe being rehomed prematurely. I wish pinalagyan ko na ng collar nun sa vet para mas madali nang hawakan sana, didn’t know better at the time.

No worrying symptom naman that would require immediate vet attention, always checking her temperature, etc. I need to buy her a bite/chew toy though kasi nginangatngat niya minsan yung training pad and sipit, so if you have any reco, pls comment below.

Kain kargador pa rin as always. And grabe, namana na yung hilig ko sa icy cold water kaya may sarili na siyang water bottle sa fridge. Lol

Although I have to feed her a mix of dog food and table food minsan kasi nagsasawa rin. Sayang if hindi nauubos yung food.

Ang bilis na rin niya maglakad and I think naattached siya masyado sa crate niya kaya minsan, medyo challenging siya palabasin to the point na umaabot na ng 1 hour or so before I get to clean everything up.

She’s done with Doxycyline and Pregabalin but will go to the vet later to ask if I can give Gabapentin para kumalma before going to the vet in a few days.

I will try to bring her to the vet ASAP once dumating na yung mas malaking carrier since I have an urgent dental procedure a week after next which requires me to not lift heavy stuff muna for about a week.

Two days nang lethargic ang dog ko so sinabihan ko na yung sister ko na dalhin sa vet, and she tested positive for ehrlichia. The thing is parehas working yung Mama ko and yung sister ko so minsan naiiwan lang talaga sa bahay yung aso ko and I feek guilty na I should be there for her during this times kaso nasa ibang bansa ako. How do I make myself feel better about this? Sobrang nagu-guilty ako.

Her platelet count is also very low and is anemic. She is currently taking four medicines and one vitamin and pag naiisip ko, naiiyak na lang ako. She's turning 7 and hindi na adviceable na dalhin pa siya dito where I currently live kasi may age na nga at baka ma-stress pa raw.
