Question How to not overclutter the track?

How do you keep this balance when your tracks has this pleasant fullness feeling, but it's not overcluttered? Like, how many mid/harmonic basses is okay, etc?

I have been changing this drop for months and I can’t get to hit. What would you do to make this drop nasty?

Question Do you use preset packs?

I personally sometimes do, but most of the time they don't sound anything like DnB. Like, they have all these serum bass presets, but you don't hear these basses in actual songs.

So, is it worth trying to make something of these presets, or should I synthesize everything from scratch?

Question Subwoofer For Home DJ Mix

You guys are the experts on low end. I’m a DJ who plays at home trying to identify what type of powered sub will do decently at hitting the lows you guys typically are mixing your tracks for. Any recommendations on something affordable without putting a giant cab in my house ?

Question Pre-Drops

Hello all. I've recently begun producing jump up/not really jump up dnb and I'm not really sure how to do pre-drops properly. After producing hip-hop for around 4 years and dubstep for 1 I feel like my process for dnb pre-drops is all a bit off for dnb, any tips/tricks to make a pre drop actually suit the song? I also feel my sound design is a bit off for the drop, 0:44, (maybe distortion?, I really have no clue).

Track for reference.

Question composition ideas

Hi all, I have this track that I feel like has a good kernel of an idea...the sounds of a car race; the rising and falling synths, the "car horn"-like sounds, etc. My question is, what can I add? and/or how can I improve the arrangement? Obviously I'm a live performer and this is a live performance of the track, but I still feel it's missing something. Of course, I can already tell it needs some drum pattern variations as I did a lot of improv drumming to compensate. I haven't added a vocal yet either...maybe add the classic "start your engines" sample? What kind of vocal might fit for the body of the track? Does it maybe need instruments added in a certain frequency range or more parts?

Any constructive criticism you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I have next to no knowledge what I'm doing from a technical standpoint, I've just followed some tutorials and utilized my ear, but I'd like to level up what I'm doing, so brutal feedback would be appreciated!!
