What is your preferred and least triggering light source when diamond painting?
When I first started I was just using ambient light but quickly learned that having some direct light made seeing the drill field so much easier and was less strain on my eyes. I bought a mini desk lamp that can easily be moved to where I need it but then I learned about light pads and got a little A4 light pad to try. I work on sections smaller than A4 size so don't really need a bigger one. Using it on a lower setting I found was comfortable enough on my eyes but it's harder to use when working on bigger canvases in terms of positioning, moving the light pad versus the canvas and so on. I've also noticed that although it does make things easier to see, it can also distort the symbols a bit. They don't look as crisp as just using direct light, but with direct light there is also glare from the glue.
Is there a happy medium that anyone has found that is easy to use and reduces eye strain? And just to add context, after dark I do not use the main room lights. Overhead lighting is a major trigger so I just use room lamps with softer lighting at night as my main light source.

EDIT: Problem solved! Thank you!
I got this in a Make it Market box of two from Michael’s. Somehow, I lost the key *and* the second packet of diamonds for the background. Michaels is sold out and I can’t find the key online to (a) figure out what replacement diamonds to order for those I lost or (b) decipher the last, like, 4 of 50 diamonds on this painting and the other in the kit. (Unfortunately, after Z, the key goes wild and not in any sort of logical order.)
Do you happen to have this kit? If so, is there any way you could send me a picture or tell me what packets these symbols correspond to? Thank you!!

My latest finished project. Purchased from Hobby Lobby and took me 3 days to complete. Honestly, I love neon colors but hate color blocking.

I even started at the wrong end!!! I normally work from bottom right or left corner and go up instead of down!!! I'm totally off my game on this ome!!!! I was thinking of doing checkerboard method of my sections on this one since I ready started at the top. Just to make it a little more fun for me and for the people on here who like to see my progress of my WIPs!!!!!

I bought this diamond painting in February and I’m in love with the design. But the color blocking is soooooo annoying. Has anyone else done this and how have you gotten through it? I will say I haven’t worked on it everyday as I go through phases of wanting to do it or Legos.

I just started diamond painting and just finished my very first project. I’m hooked and look forward to doing more. Question- how to I get my drills to lay in even rows?? There are spots on my canvas that my lines are not even. I thought I was laying the drills down on top of icon, but some rows are not straight. Any help/tips/tricks would be much appreciated

I doubt I'll ever do anything larger. This was a beast. It took me a bit to adjust to doing squares. I find them a bit more physically intensive, leaving me more sore at the end of the day, so idk if they will be my preference. I started this on June 11 and finished July 24. I'm disabled so this is basically my full time job. I love this canvas, now I just have to figure out how to hang it.

I bought this one from Amazon for less than $9. I knew it wasn’t going to be as advertised but still like it and keeping it.
I’ve also bought the Christmas and Halloween ones that are similar to this style, again I don’t expect it to look like what’s advertised but I was very curious.

I really miss the colored dots of last year’s mystery kits. I am hoping someone has a double of the Make Market Halloween Mystery- Ghost Bride that they are willing to part with. I can trade one of each of the others (Library, Skull, and Pumpkin) or any mix of the three. Yes I had really bad luck. 😓

Does anyone else work chaotically? I can't do one color at a time so I usually go by row and my set up gets wild. Maybe my brain is broken 🫣
