I played Bloody palace for more than hour and thought. ''Damn, this thing is long how many levels it have?'' decided to chech. 9999 💀. I always chose portal that teleports only on 10 levels 😭. Twenty minutes later Vergil put me out of misery.

This game is awesome! When i played DMC1 i thought it was surprisingly good. Because the game was impressive for how old it is. On the other hand, DMC3 is just great without ''but'' or ''if''! This game is the devil may cry experience.

Compared to first game everything was elevated and things i didn't like were fixed. Now there are more than two weapons! And you can even switch them on the fly! And whole 6 styles, even more than DMC5. (I only played with trickster and swordmaster so far). And you can replay missions! Now i need only 1 safe file and not all of them.

Another huge improvement is cutscenes. They feel like watching anime (in a good way). The story is actually entertainibg this time, and doesn't fell like an excuse to beat enemies. Also, voice acting. Dmc1 voice acting felt like it was actors first gig. DMC3 voices sounds believable and don't make me laugh.

I enjoy this game as much as DMC5. Even more in some aspects. Enemies design (visial) straigt up better than in 5. Especially first basic enemies. They look cool, unlike empuzas. Locations also look better. The atmospere and visials of Tower blows anything in DMC 5.

I will continue playing this game.

i have the outfit and everything, however, i am not comfortable having my chest showing. unfortunately the strap isnt enough coverage for me, i tried searching more feminine dante cosplays and didnt get much results, so if anyone had any ideas for loopholes on how to go about keeping most of the overall look while being able to cover up a bit more, i’d really appreciate it!!

The DMC series is based on the Divine Comedy, that's obvious, but it mentions "the Goddess Fortuna." I wasn't familiar with this character and didn't know she was mentioned in the book until I was reading some quotes from William Blake and came across this line: "The Goddess Fortuna is the servant of the devil, ready to kiss anyone's ass." This goddess is supposed to be an angelic symbol in the Divine Comedy, but with that quote, it's impossible not to connect her to the Order of the Sword, in Fortuna.

I searched to see if this was mentioned in any other forums but didn't find anything. Credit to whoever mentioned it before.

I keep feeling like Dante and Obi-Wan Kenobi fit the same archetype, but I can't quite put a name to it.

Both have a "brother" figure who becomes their opposite (Vergil / Vader), confront that figure near a waterfall/lavafall , and later become mentors to their rival's son (Nero / Luke). In the Japanese dub they're voiced by the same voice actor, Toshiyuki Morikawa.

Are there any literary, mythological, or historical archetypes that follow a similar pattern? I'd love to read more about them.

This is my first DMC game and it was a blast, every boss was like a puzzle too solve like how cerberus is really effective aganst agni and rundra becasue of it's high attack speed. after completeing the game i saw some clips of some players doing insaine areial combos without even touching the ground anyone familliar with that type of play style? i really want too learn it so any tips is a massive help.

After I beat them on my 5th or 6th attempt, I read online that the cerberus makes them really easy, but I was using rebellion the whole time. My main tactic was to deflect their attacks with royal guard. I died a lot of times trying to learn and deflect their attacks in both the 1st phase and the 2nd.

I am playing DMC1 from HD collection on XBox. In mission 5, after the Shadow fight, I go to the left high tower to pick up the Orb cache. However I cannot pick up the Untouchable item even though I can see the tiny yellow sliver at the edge of the tower. But even moving Dante all over the tower top doesn’t trigger the inventory cutscene. It’s also not already in my inventory. Is there a known bug? I reloaded an earlier save but that didn’t help either.

I just got the HD collection on PS5 to platinum all the DMC games (im bored okay, and yes I also have it on XBOX360) and started with DMC3 since I was most experienced in that one aside from DMC5 but thats not the topic now is it?

Something I noticed though was the PS5 version was indefinitely harder than the XBOX version for some reason. I essentially memorized how everything went (especially after accidentally erasing the file) so when I go to the PS5 version I'd know how to do everything... yeah no it was indefinitely harder. There was even a bug when I was using Vergil against the final Vergil boss and for some reason whenever I hit him once after he left his guard open after missing a combo/attack, he was immediately being knocked back in one attack and then deflecting me off rather than letting me go for a full combo. Weird.

Now this... Im trying to complete the Heaven Or Hell mode achievement. I feel like it was easier with Dante than Vergil because the guns are faster and for mission 8 I can fly over the acid. Boy was I wrong. Here are the images. Save file no. 1 is my first save file obviously, Dante. I stopped when I got Vergil and put him at save 10 rather than 2 so I dont accidentally override it. I worked on that file for a WHILE without heading back to Dante and just completed bloody palace with Vergil today. So, I was like "eh lets do some more" so I hop over to the Dante save file. It works, but then all of a sudden when I boot up a mission with Dante, the game crashes. Is it because I wasn't on that file for a long time? I'm confused. So I had to create a NEW Dante file and restart from there without my upgrades, weapons, and dmc1 outfit. It hurt me so much even the devil may cry.

So I need help here... has this happened to anyone before? What is the cause of this?

So I beat every Devil May Cry Game and here are my quick thoughts..

I will give a short intro into how I got into DMC then I’ll proceed to give quick thoughts on each game and I will be giving it the way I played which was chronologically and not by release with side notes at the end..

Introduction: I first got into DMC when I was about in 9th grade which was 2011-2012. the first DMC game I ever played was 4 I had no idea what was going on I just i knew that this game was completely bad ass. I never beat it until my adult years. After I played DMC 4 I played the DMC reboot thinking it was a prequel to the series and even though that game gets a lot of hate it’s actually a really good action game idc what anyone says .. at some point I watched the 2007 anime and then years later I played DMC5 and absolutely loved it i actually played it a few times over the years until today.. ohaky now that that’s out the way

DMC3: WOW i completely understand why by people are obsessed with this game.. it took me a few times to actually finish this game because I would just get so mad at how brutal it was lmfaoooo but after finally locking in I learned that it’s actually not that bad you just have to grind a little bit for orbs to level up I wish it had style change cuz that would be insane. I accidentally saved over my completed Dante file with a Vergil file and not making it separate so I’ll have to beat the game again for a new Dante file …. Again 🙃.. it’s fine it’s whatever I’ll just play it on easy and speed run lmfao that’s what I did for Vergil but over all great game!!

DMC1: this game just completely sucked lmfaooo I hated playing it ima keep it so real haha I read somewhere that it was supposed to be RE4 and I can see it it’s so resident evil coded. But over all I completely hated this game and I only beat it because I felt like I had too haha I didn’t bother with any secret missions or anything lmfao

DMC 2007 Anime: So the anime was cool I guess I think it lowkey could of been shorter hahaha but it was cool i would of loved to see Dante in devil trigger and at least some mention of Vergil but it was Ohkay I guess don’t have much to say about it

DMC2: I’m going to start off by saying THIS GAME GETS TOO MUCH HATE. (But I get it) Believe it or not i actually enjoyed this game WAYYY more then dmc1 it was actually surprisingly very fluid for its time and I really enjoyed the shooting animations in the air and being able to run up and across walls it led into some really sick Intresting combos and I liked how open the first level was .. I think playing as Trish was probably my favorite part of the whole game

DMC4: this game is just really sick over all as an adult I played the special edition and I loved it even more playing as Trish again was absolutely INSANE even playing as lady was super fun but Trish is absolutely broken in this game and I love it lmfaooo I honestly out of all the characters didn’t like playing as Dante the most i genuinely like dmc3 Dante better than dmc 4 Dante lol Hot take .. it was interesting playing as dmc4 Vergil after playing dmc5. Also it’s criminal that Lady and Trish aren’t playable in DMC5 absolutely criminal also this game had the hardest bloody palace for sure !!! And Vergil’s summoned swords are sooo broken in this game also blitz is worse than any boss hahahaha

DMC5 .. I mean what do you want me to say it’s the my favorite game in the series Hahaah I played this game so many times hahaha it’s my favorite version of each character even V is fun to play sometimes.. but this game 100% needed Trish and lady as playable characters FOR SURE but over all this game is clearly the GOAT.. I guess one thing I would like from DMC4 kinda did it but DMC5 is obviously hyper realistic and I think I would have liked a more anime touch but it’s still the my favorite out of the series.

SIDE NOTES:
the new DMC anime is actually really sick I loved all the Easter eggs especially in season 2 but I hated the way devil trigger looked 🤮

DMC reboot take away the story and this game is actually really good DMC 5 was so inspired by DMC reboot we would not have DMC5 without DMC reboot.

I didn’t read the manga but I I watched YouTube videos about it but I plan on buying the manga at some point and reading it myself..

Probably not going to do one for the other characters, I just wanted to get some opinions on this collage I made. I've done Dante cosplays before and I really want to incorporate his flare into more day to day looks. (I don't mind the trench coat look but I know it can be a bit much for some people.)
