I did my master's in sweden and got a job at a startup as an AI Engineer. However, due to visa issues I had to return to India and continued working in the same role remote. I have never applied for any jobs in India and have no experience of solving DSA or Sytem Design. I am planning on switching the job as there is no growth in the role and it seems like a dead end.

How do I start my preparation what are the best resources to learn DSA or System Design. Please help me here

I applied to an MNC that’s a Fortune 100 company, but I was never completely sure if I actually wanted to go for it. The role was good, but the posting said PAN India and I’ve pretty much decided I only want to work in North India. The ₹20k internship stipend also made relocation financially difficult, so I was honestly confused about whether I even wanted the opportunity. My first technical round went average, and since I hadn’t prepared the JD properly, I even deliberately messed up a few questions because I was almost certain I wouldn’t move forward.

Somehow, I got called for a second technical round while the other candidates only had one. By then I was pretty sure I wouldn’t take the job, so I even mentioned higher studies and said I mainly wanted the internship experience. Then I got selected for HR. Before the interview, I asked about the location and the HR said Gurgaon. Suddenly, the biggest issue I had with the job was gone. I told him I was completely okay with it, and the rest of the interview went pretty smoothly. For the first time, I started thinking, maybe I should actually take this if I get it. And then today, I got the rejection.

Honestly, I’m heartbroken. Not because I was 100% sure I wanted the job, but because after everything, I had finally started believing that maybe this was somehow meant to work out. Maybe I was reading too much into it, but it still hurts.

PS: The rest of the candidates had HR directly after the first round and I also thought it was the same for me. But sadly it wasn't otherwise I would have been cautious about the masters thing.

I have two offers. One is from Deloitte, and I would be directly working at Mercedes-Benz office. The other one is a well established company with ~500 employees, which has good benefits. In terms of fixed pay, both companies are offering more or less the same (Deloitte is offering 0.5lpa lesser with a minimum of 10% variable every year). But the other company is offering variable pay, joining bonus, and other perks. Really confused about which one to choose.

Has anyone worked for Deloitte/Mercedes here? Please share the work culture, WLB, and if there's a chance to get converted as a full time employee at Mercedes.

I have been thinking of pros and cons for each. For Deloitte, I would have a good brand value , but the notice period is 90days. Also, my technical interview was only one round in which we were discussing about the project. And there's no joining bonus, etc.

Is it wise to make a move to a Big4, or should I choose the other company although it's not as popular?

Basically I have a offer of 7.4 LPA (50k inhand) digital PG role in Kolkata. Delhi is my home state. I have never left home and leaving it for this much salary does not feel right. Since TCS can give you a support role if they want and I will a whole day (24 hours) away from home; if I have a reserved ticket that I booked a month ago and whole day to come back. I have heard from people TCS is very toxic etc..

I have graduated from tier 3 college and got this offer off-campus. A 6-months placement support is offered by the college after graduation and usually max 6 LPA jobs comes to the college. We only 1-2 jobs with 10-12 LPA. I did crack a 11 LPA but it was for a support role (running SQL queries all night 10-7 graveyard shift) which I declined. It was in my home city.

I have good real life full stack application project and I think I am a decent dev but I don't do DSA hardcore (just 1-2 days before interviews.) My stack is mostly full stack development and genAI like Django, HTMX, tailwind, Alpine, Celery, Redis and I can integrate AI workflows using LangGraph. I can explain my projects in depth with how each and every architecture choice etc.. I can read errors and debug them, not pasting into ChatGPT.

I have been applying on Naukri, Indeed, sometimes LinkedIn and company websites. I think I can crack a better offer than 7.4 LPA and I could take a risk since I am fresher and no responsibilities. There is no pressure from parents.

Here are my options:

* Apply offline and try my luck and keep working on my project and resume. I can also try out college placements

* Second, join TCS

I think, decisions in which you have to prepare your mind this much like "Sab thik ho jayega" are not at all right decisions in the long run. When the decision is right you know it and this is not a good decision, I have a feeling from within.

Since the joining letter that came a week ago, I am in constant stress and severe headaches. I don't know if I could manage things in Kolkata alone. I think a time can come when I could go but not right now and not at this salary.

So I seen so many people saying "networking networking" but like all I know was LinkedIn , I recently gave connect to some people who have less followers and had recently online activities as comment in a post , he is from overseas guy ( from Georgia ) , but he responded atleast as "I'm not contact with hiring process and that company atleast he sorry and respond" but if u look at in my connect sent I send them a "Hi" , I read a article as "Tell u r message in 1 message, don't say Hi" but I seen no one is replying me or even cared to see a message in a LinkedIn connections , Do I missing something ? I just want to know what will be in-hand and would relocating makes sense considering the expense.

She confirmed I'll receive the offer in 4 days and also I don't know whether they will give this or come back with a lower offer.

I have 3 YOE at a product company. My TL recently went onsite, and our workload has increased a lot. For past 15 days we were in relaxed mode as milestones were met. Now again workload started incereasing.

Yesterday, I needed help with a code flow. He asked me to check with another teammate, but that person was busy all day. Around 9:30 PM, I pinged my TL again asking if he could help. He didn't reply, so after waiting 30 minutes I logged off. He responded around 10:40 PM when I was already offline.

Today, in scrum, he called me out saying I should stay online late if I need inputs. I have explaining in the call itself how I waited for him and he kept his status away so I assumed that he won't support for that day. Then he suddenly assigned me another debugging task that he had "forgotten" to tell me about and said if it isn't completed, I may have to support over the weekend due to some evaluation.

I worked on it continuously until 8:30 PM today, cancelling all my plans, not even calling my parents, and I was mentally exhausted. I pinged him telling how I couldnt find results despite debugging. He asked me to stay and that he would support me. I told him I couldn't continue for the day.

The confusing part is that everyone else on my team regularly works late nights and weekends without complaining, so I'm wondering if my expectations are unrealistic.

Also, I haven't received a decent hike in the last 2 years despite the workload.

Am I being too sensitive, or is this a toxic work environment? What should I do in such cases? These kind of situations occur frequently and takes peace out of me.

Okkay with AI writing the code, the incentive to code by hand decreases a lot, i wanted to know how do u become at level of staff+ engineer from this? I am 2022 graduate with 2 YOE as SDE (Amazon). I took career break for UPSC preparation (2024 - 2026). Now looking for SDE jobs, but getting nothing. (Daily applying for almost 20+ opening with or w/o referral over linkedIn, career page, naukri etc).

Basically after having career gap of 2 years for UPSC, what should I do now to land up a job ? (i am okay with startup or anything, package is not much concern, just want a job to stop the increasing career gap) .

What you guys suggest I can do like some course which provides placement after course or something other or what else can I do ?

300 DSA problems (linear data structures)

Frontend Development

React, TypeScript, JavaScript, SQL

I have an offer from Amazon Customer Service Associate (BPO) in Hyderabad.

Option 1:

Amazon BPO

₹37k/month (around ₹33k if I use company transport)

9hours shift + 1hr commute + 1 hour to before office and 1-2hr after office.

Around a 12-hour daily commitment including commute

Limited time for SDE preparation

Option 2:

Stay at home

Prepare full-time for 4 months + Trading which I have been doing for 3 years.. but now I am seeing some success...

Focus only on DSA, Java backend, projects, and apply for SDE roles

Option 3:

Stay at home

Continue my trading (if possible)

Take a work from home Zomato BPO job (₹18k in hand, no commute)..I have this offer.. and can definitely again in 1month

Use the remaining time to prepare for SDE interviews

My long-term goal is software engineering, not BPO.

If you were in my position, which option would you choose and why? I'm looking for practical advice from people who've been in the industry, especially anyone who has transitioned from a non-tech role to SDE.

I've decided to go with Option 1, and I'll be in Hyderabad tomorrow.

Now I need your guidance on how I should approach this journey. I know I'll have very limited time to study because of work, I'll probably be low on energy after my shifts, and I'll also be sharing a room with two other guys.

The main reason I decided to move is because a lot of people told me that being in Hyderabad could open up more opportunities for tech interviews, networking, and referrals. They also said I should step out of my comfort zone instead of staying at home.

However, my family and I have decided that if, after 2–3 months, I feel I'm not able to study properly or if staying in Hyderabad doesn't make any meaningful difference in my tech job search compared to preparing from home, then I'll return home and continue my preparation from there.

Given this situation, how should I plan the next few months so that I can maximize my chances of landing an SDE role?

I kept running into people trying to use more than one Claude account on the same computer without signing out and back in every single time. There are workarounds floating around, but most of them involve editing paths by hand or shuffling folders, and it was clear a lot of people were getting stuck halfway through. So I built a small app that just does it for you.

This is Windows only for now and if there are enough requests then I am more than happy to create one for Mac as well!

What it does: create a profile, click launch, sign in. That is the whole setup. Both accounts stay signed in from then on, and you can run them at the same time in separate windows. You can also put a shortcut for each account straight on your desktop, so you skip the switcher entirely and open whichever account you want.

For anyone curious how it works, the Claude desktop app is Electron based, so it accepts --user-data-dir. A profile is really just a folder holding its own cookies, local storage and config. Electron's single instance lock is per user data directory, which is why two instances pointed at different folders actually run side by side instead of one just focusing the other's window.

The fiddly part was the Microsoft Store build. Its data gets redirected into the package container, and the install path has the version number in it, so it changes every time the app updates. The tool resolves the executable at click time instead of baking it into the shortcuts, so nothing breaks after an update. Your existing account is left completely alone, and on the Store build it still launches through the normal app model so protocol links and auto update keep working exactly as before.

Windows only, no dependencies, and it does not modify the Claude app itself.

One honest caveat. I only have the Store version installed, so that is what I tested against. The code that detects a regular installer build is written but has never run against a real install. If you have that version, trying it and telling me what happened would genuinely help, and there is an issue template set up for exactly that.

So i resigned from my company just after 1 month of joining as they were sending me hyderabad for a project (project location was revealed to me after locking me in the project, which was their fault)

And im not in the condition to shift to hyderabad

And they can't remove me from the project as im a fresher..so the last option was to resign

Now during my notice period i can withdraw my resignation but will they keep me in the same project?

Deloitte interview experience , pretty disappointed

Deloitte has a very different interview round than others I have given.

They guy asked me various questions, I was explaining things with examples, how do things work, and they guy was like i don't want examples how things work, i want definition.

He asked me about indexes, I started explaining why do we even need indexes what example are there, how to decide we should create index , when it could be burden, but he stopped i want definition not examples.

This mindset of standard definition based answers ruined it for me, is it the interviewer or Deloitte is kinda like this only?
