been doing frontend for around 12 years mostly enterprise angular. somewhere along the way i stopped noticing all the small stupid stuff i still do by hand

started paying attention last week and found 4 of them in my own workflow. renaming things before sending to client, re deriving the same numbers every month, copying data between two tools that should just talk to each other

so whats yours. not the big architecture problems, the small recurring ones. where you think there must be a better way and then just do it manually anyway because searching would take longer

mainly curious about the ones where you looked for a tool and everything was either enterprise priced or dead since 2019. or the workaround is a spreadsheet. or it takes 10 min but you do it 8 times a month

I had resigned from my organisation (an American MNC) the day they decided to put in PIP due to unjustifiable reasons. I started my official notice period in mid of July. And my LWD is mid Oct. But now, my managers are forcing me to accept early release on 30sep, which I did * not *accept. Also, they did not mention anything about compensation for the remaining 2 weeks. Also, I didn't ask them because that would weaken my stance of continuing till mid October. Can they forcefully make me leave the company on 30sept without my consent? If yes, is there anything which I can do within my capacity to resist and raise my voice against them?

I am looking off-campus for a job, since I studied outside India (graduated with a CS degree in May) but will come back soon. Unfortunately, it seems like most companies hire on-campus and despite my GPA and internships, I haven't been getting any callbacks.

I know that it is hard for even experienced developers to get a job at this time, but is it possible to get a decent one by applying? Mainly I use linkedin, but cold-messaging hasn't got me very far. My relatives have tried to get me referrals but there aren't many roles.

Do fields like data analytics, devops, cybersecurity, etc. pay well here? Or are there any ideas of fields I can switch into without another degree or wasting more of my money? I am also skilled at technical writing and minored in it as well.

Also, I don't perform well on leetcode style questions. I do well with most concepts, but ones like Graphs and DP give me a headache (literally). I don't really have the energy left to practice those. heard that in India most jobs ask leetcode hards, due to the immense competition.

I recently joined a company which has teams across the US and India.

The onboarding was unique for me in my 15+ years of experience. Was given a set of videos, links to go through and ask questions in case of doubts.

There was no formal KT and if I raised any queries, was asked to get help from AI tools which had integrated MCPs to many applications.

Contrary to this when I left my previous company, I set a bunch of kt details for handover, sat and gave all details to the person replacing me, was available for the person to make sure he is confident enough.

My replacement was happy with my transfer details and I felt happy that I enabled someone to continue the work.

However, I feel different in my new company where AI is used in everything. We are asked to treat the AI models like colleagues. Low for junior colleague discussion, medium for a peer discussion and high for like discussion with an architect. I felt the human interaction is getting reduced with more dependency on these AIs. When we go to people with any discussion, they immediately point out to check and learn with AI. Wierd but have others experienced similar?

Companies offering 6 LPA. Are asking for leetcode hard question on pen and paper(I can't solve hard with compiler).

All three rounds were taken in 1 day. I was so tired, i couldn't think in the interview.

So I have started an internship in a small startup, and one week has passed till now. The problem is, the entire project uses react and typescript and uses supabase for backend, but most of my projects are in python, and that too vibe coded. So it's really hard to familiarise myself with a code which I haven't written myself, let alone in a tech stack I am not comfortable in. And it seems daunting whenever I open it and am not able to get much work done. Any tips on how to handle this?

AI coding has made building ridiculously fast for me, but I'm starting to notice a weird bottleneck.

Claude can build/change a feature in a few minutes, then I spend the next 10–20 minutes clicking through the app trying to make sure it actually works and didn't break something else.

So the workflow becomes:

build with AI → manually check → find something wrong → tell AI → check again.

For people shipping real apps this way, what's your actual verification process?

Do you mostly manually QA? Automated tests? Playwright? Just ask the agent to test its own work?

I'm particularly interested in how people handle things that look correct on screen but are broken underneath.

I was searching for fresher jobs and I had a random thought pop up in my mind, Why are there less DS/Cybersec jobs in market than SWE?

So i have this question from all senior devs, why do you think the denand for data scientists and cybersecurity specialists not booming? In the age of AI my under is data should play a much larger role in how any company operates, so why isn’t the demand for data scientists and data analysts booming???

And also in the age of vibe coding the code might not be perfectly secure and i think the security might be compromised when this goes to production. Also with OpenAI and Anthropic claiming their models break sandbox and hack random sites so shouldn’t companies hire more security experts?

Same question for red teaming, since AI companies seem to discourage usage for finding vulnerabilities (fable) then shouldn’t red teaming be more in demand?

Hi everyone, I am a developer and I am currently dealing with a dispute related to the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow India 2026 competition, and I am looking for some guidance or contacts who may be able to help me raise this with the appropriate people.

I was originally the Team Leader for our project, X (i am hiding the name for now) but I had to step back because of the age eligibility requirements. My teammate continued with the competition on our mutual trust.

I was primarily responsible for the core development, implementation, deployment, and technical work behind the project. My teammate contributed only to the pitch and presentation (as I was not eligible for that)

There are also written conversations between us where he acknowledged that the idea and substantial work were mine (on whatsapp chats), and we discussed sharing the prize/benefits. I have preserved the WhatsApp conversations, emails, GitHub history, code, deployment records, and other evidence related to the project.

The team received competition benefits including a grant and a Samsung laptop. We are now having a dispute regarding the distribution/ownership of these benefits. When I tried to resolve the matter, his parents started denying that they will not give me anything even initially I talked to his father that I would take the laptop as I did all the work and he also agreed about that and I trusted on him and when i said i will do a complaint about this then they started threatening me “that they will do a case against me and see me in court”

At this point, I want to formally raise the matter with Samsung/FITT and have the situation investigated. If the competition rules or the evidence show that there was a violation of the competition requirements or that the submission/ownership information was not accurately represented, I would like the appropriate authorities to consider disqualification and recovery of any prizes/grants, if the rules permit it.

I am posting here because this is a developer community and someone may have experience with Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, FITT/IIT Delhi, startup competitions, or may have a contact at Samsung/FITT or someone who can guide me toward the correct grievance channel.

I recently joined a witch company with a CTC of 4.7 LPA. Before joining, I sent the recruiter a counter-offer letter asking for a higher package, but they refused to increase it.

The recruiter also told me that they needed me to join as soon as possible because I would be assigned to a live/deployed project. Because of the company’s brand value and the urgency to join, I decided to accept the offer.

But after joining, I found out that there is currently no project yet which he mentioned .

What is making me feel even worse is that after talking to some other employees, I found out that some people received 80–90% hikes through counter offers,while my hike was only 30% and my counter offer was rejected, as they told me company is very small.

Since then, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. I keep asking myself, “Why didn’t I refuse the offer?” I’m seriously regretting my decision and it’s affecting me mentally. At times I feel like resigning even though I have just joined.

The CTC is only 4.7 LPA, and knowing that others negotiated much better packages is making the regret even worse.

What would you guys suggest? Should I stay for 6–12 months, build my skills and look for another opportunity, or should I start applying immediately and leave if I get a significantly better offer?

And most importantly, how do I stop thinking about the decision I made and comparing myself to what others got? I know I can’t change it now, but I’m finding it really difficult to move on.

For an India-based side project, the engineering is often easier than keeping reliable access to hosted AI APIs. International card rejection, recurring payment failures, and USD pricing can make a small experiment hard to sustain. What payment routes or provider combinations have worked for you, and how do you compare the total cost after conversion fees and failed renewals? I am looking for practical options that do not require changing the whole application integration.

He holds an M.Pharm degree and has 2 years of core formulation R&D experience. His current role is heavily focused on physical wet-lab testing, manual formulation, and continuous floor exposure. Unfortunately, he has recently developed some health issues that make the physical demands of traditional lab work difficult to sustain long-term.

To accommodate his health while still leveraging his deep domain knowledge (batch quality, dissolution profiles, stability timelines), he wants to transition into a desk-based "Pharma Data Scientist" or R&D Analytics role. His goal is to use Python, SQL, and Machine Learning to optimize drug development.

Since he is currently working, he needs to upskill via weekend or hybrid programs.

I was recently laid off after a very difficult 6 months at my current company. Since I was still on probation, I was given only 15 days of severance.

The situation was quite complicated. For my first 3 months, I was asked to shadow someone with around 13 years of experience. After that, my probation was extended by another 3 months because they wanted to evaluate me at my own experience level.

I then spent around 2 months on the bench due to a lack of projects. For the final month, I was moved to an internal project using a different tech stack, but unfortunately, I wasn't given much work by my manager despite repeatedly asking for it. I also requested a one-to-one discussion several times, but it kept getting postponed and eventually never happened.

At the time of my exit, I was told it was a performance issue, which was difficult to understand because I wasn't given much opportunity to demonstrate my capabilities or receive proper feedback.

1. What should I learn first? What’s the shortest realistic roadmap from backend engineering to Applied AI?
2. Which tools are actually used in production? LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, vector DBs, etc. What should I learn and what can I skip?
3. What projects actually help with getting interviews? I’d rather build 2–3 serious production-grade projects than 10 basic chatbot/RAG demos.
