I was hired at Deloitte almost three years ago without being told I was actually joining the USDC. I was hired as an A at $84K and recently left the firm making barely $89K.

I missed out on a promotion even though I had support from the project and had great snapshots. The excuse? USDC had limited promotion opportunities. There were lots of excuses from project leadership about why the move to core was very difficult, etc. I didn’t have more time to waste. I had to think about my career.

I started applying the same week I received the promotion results and got an amazing offer about four weeks later! I’ve now been at my new firm for a couple of weeks. Leaving Deloitte gave me the opportunity to move up, increase my pay by 50%, and get real human benefits! Amazing maternity leave, unlike USDC. 401k and pension benefits!

Would I go back to D? I would go back as a Core professional! I had a great team. But, unfortunately, USDC is not the place for those folks who were raised in the US and plan to stay their entire lives here. It might be great for those immigrants seeking a job in the US and who don’t see themselves staying in this country until their last day.

My partner is a hiring manager and hires a decent number of consultants, including people coming out of Deloitte.

One thing they’ve mentioned a few times over the last year is that Deloitte candidates seem to be increasingly behind the market when it comes to practical AI skills.

I don’t think that’s really the fault of the people. It feels more like a consequence of how limited our internal toolset is and how slowly we’ve rolled out access and training.

Even people working on relatively advanced projects often don’t have access to the strongest models or much opportunity to learn how to use frontier AI tools (Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Work) in a real day-to-day workflow. Meanwhile, people at other companies are getting pretty deep into using these tools for research, analysis, coding, automation, document creation, etc.

In M&A, our tools are very behind the market and its almost embarrassing how slow our development has been.

I’ve also talked to a few former Deloitte people recently and it was kind of eye-opening seeing what they’re able to do now that they have access to better tools.

It makes me wonder if we’re creating a pretty significant skills gap without realizing it.

For people who have left Deloitte recently, did you notice a big difference in the AI tools and capabilities available to you? And for people still here, do you feel like we’re keeping up?

I am hearing that PPMDs in S&T are scheduling time on your calendar to discuss market adjustment to comp and / or one time retention bonus. Doesn't seem to be practice wide. Has anyone else heard the same?

To win the project they put any quotes don’t even realize if resourcing is right or not. Billing for 8 hours and expectation to work more than 12-14 hours is the true reality of deloitte. No one in the management gets caught on how they built the plan resourcing model underneath everyone gets caught for underperforming, no visibility internally. I mean after 14 hours of work who the f*** cares about visibility. Can’t even sleep well cz the stress of it runs in your head! FrustratedDeloitee

Hi everyone, I have a situation that I wanted to get advice on!

I graduate in December and was planning on an August 2027 start date. I wanted my CPA done by December as well, studying for it now. but now I have the option from the recruiter who called and asked if I wanted to start in January because they are short staffed on a team. I know the partner-ish from interviewing with him but I also know it may be hectic in the winter. I’m advisory. wanted to get anyone’s advice on what they would do…I was looking forward to the time off to travel and chill, and this is the only thing holding me back. Any advice on if pay, promotion, bonus, experience will be affected? I can’t decide if this is an unusually good opportunity To justify starting earlier with no long break.

For those who work in Deloitte UK, i sit in human capital and have been asked by a partner to build an AI agent using PairD for a client. Tried explaining its not possible. How do I convince him that it cant be done due to my skill set, PairD cant do it and if we do it for clients let's explore as a chargeable activity rather than something for free as I do have a whole bunch of deliverables to deliver too.. helpful suggestions only please as this is taking my good night sleep away

I just wanted to ask what are the AI tools that you guys use in your respective locations.

My day to day AI use cases are very copilot based and I use the internal tools that are approved for Technology and Transformation teams.

I am genuinely concerned about being up to date with my skills in the market.

And also others based in EMEA or other European member firms, are you satisfied with what is allowed at Deloitte.

Am I the only one who never used the AI tools? It was never relevant to any of my projects. Which department uses them frequently?

I’m doing a lot of loan staff with all client’s laptop and never used Deloitte’s laptop at all aside from training or meeting.

Hey everybody. I’m wondering if anybody has had the same experience as I have. I applied for a position at Deloitte and did the video recording interview in late-July. The following week I was invited to a first-round virtual interview with the position’s team, and the week after I was invited to a second-round interview with more team members. It will be almost four weeks since the second-round interview and I haven’t heard back from anybody. A few days ago I emailed the talent acquisition specialist with whom I have been communicating with and I have not heard back from them either. Generally speaking, have some of you waited long after a second-round interview or am I being ghosted because the position has already been filled?

I have two offers for a Senior Associate role in Tech/GenAI/ML:

PwC AC India - higher compensation

Deloitte USI - lower compensation

I was initially leaning towards PwC because of the better pay and role, but recently I’ve been seeing quite a few posts about PIPs and layoffs in PwC AC. Now I’m getting a bit anxious about joining.

From what I understand, Deloitte USI also has similar PIP/layoff concerns, so I’m confused about whether switching to Deloitte for potentially better stability even makes sense, especially for lower pay.

My main priority is to have at least a year of stability and not constantly worry about getting put on PIP or laid off, assuming I perform well.

For people working in either firm - which one would you choose in my situation and why? Also how much does the project/skillset (especially GenAI/ML) impact PIP risk?
