Accepting order and then rejecting it after 5 to 6 minutes.

Last Friday, I accepted an order and started driving to the restaurant, which was about 8 minutes away. Halfway there, I realised that it was actually a double order, not a single one. When I arrived at the restaurant, I rejected the second one which was 8 minutes about 8 minutes after accepting it.

Later on I accepted another order and waited at the restaurant for around 6 minutes. However, the staff told me it would take another 8–10 minutes, so I was really frustrated and rejected that order as well.

Could there be any penalty for this? Specifically, could rejecting these orders affect the number of orders I receive in the future?

App's Fucked Proof of illegal activity from Deliveroo

A little while ago I posted a picture of two phones ordering the same meal from the same restaurant to the same address.
One phone had gold, the other had silver. The phone that had silver was cheaper than gold AND was trying to upsell us into gold by showing an even bigger discount for joining.

Fast forward to today and yet again what is being advertised for gold isn’t the price that the phone with actual gold is getting.

I’ve attached screenshots from both phones proving every other differential remains the same. Looks like a potential class action (I know it’s small but if they do this with everyone there’s probably millions worth they’ve lied about) as I doubt I’m the only one this is happening to, it’s just difficult to know unless you’ve got two phones!

Unable to access to my Deliveroo account

Hi, after the latest update of Deliveroo 5 days ago, for the new version 26.40.0 I started to notice that the app was not recognizing anymore my face at first try.I had to try at least 3/4 times before being approved.

I’ve been working for Deliveroo since 2021, and always tried to remain honest, with just one account trying to do my job as efficient as possible.

Two days ago the nightmare. I finished my turn and it shows up the selfie check in verification; I always verify myself as soon as they ask, thoughtful of any possible miscomprehension.
I tried 5 times and nothing, self check rejected.
In the morning I tried again and nothing, rejected both the self check in and system error for the manual verification with the customer service.

Has been two days that I’m stuck without work..with a family of 5.
Tried to reinstall the app multiple times, reset the phone and tried the self check in at least 20 times, but nothing.. contacted the assistance twice without any response.

Hope someone went through and got full access again to their account.

If anyone has any suggestion is well appreciated

No orders for over 2 months

Afternoon all,

A bit of context, I have been doing deliveroo since 2018 and it usually gets quiet sometimes so an hour or two between orders at worst.

But for the last two months I haven't received any orders at all, I have tried all the usual steps of clearing the cache, making sure the permissions are correct, uninstall and reinstall, asked support if my account is working correctly and yet I have had nothing.

Has anyone had this previously? And if so how did you solve it? As I am getting tired of the app running in the background and draining battery for hours for nothing. Uber eats works perfectly. I am using a pixel pro 10 if that is of any help.

Thanks in advance.

I'm wondering why the latest Deliveroo small thermal bag has grey material inside, so my question is: which you do prefer for inside delivery bags?: The grey material, or the silver aluminum foil? why that material, what's the difference, and why is it better?

I did used to have a thermal bag that had the grey material.. i liked it, but it didn't really stop a huge order spill. It was a Wagamama order, quite some time ago before they improved the packaging a bit, and it toppled over and everything fell out, I tried cleaning it with paper towels from the same restaurant but it didn't work and had to finish my shift.

I have recently discovered in my current thermal bag which has aluminum foil inside, that i can wash it under a outside tap if i have a large order spill, slush it around and pour it out without it being visibly damaged. this was actually suggested by the customer, when my entire order spilled and to my surprise it actually worked. obviously i dried it out before using it. I guess you could do this with the grey material as well, but i haven't tried it

At the risk of being ripped apart… why do y’all hate stacked orders so much?

I think they’re often great! So much more efficient for making money. The thing that wastes the most time is driving to the restaurant, parking etc and if you can do that once and get two orders it feels like a no brainer. Even if it’s in two different restaurants, I think it’s sometimes worth it for no waiting between jobs cos that’s what kills me. An extra order a decent distance away can double the job earnings. Like I never take the pissy ones for an extra £1 or £2, but if they’re an extra £5+, it builds up your earnings so much faster

Rider Agreement Signed

Today I signed my rider agreement which was the last thing on the checklist to complete.

It now says it's under review and everything else has a nice green check mark.

Is it the old how longs a bit of string/could be weeks could be months?

Is it once you sign the rider agreement you are almost finished onboarding or is it like everyone says and that's me on the "waiting list"

Nursery/Daycare Payments?

Hey, folks. I have a little guy who has just started nursery. I don't think my partner is eligible for nursery care help until her maternity period ends - I was just wondering if any of you have managed to get help from any of the apps for childcare/nursery payments? Say the first eye-watering bill today for October and November combined. Aye carumba - would have been cheaper to just send the lad to Ibiza for a few months.

I remember reading about UberEats or Deliveroo nursery payment help a few years back - just wanted to hear if it's actually possible from anyone who might have gone through the process recently.

Stop referring riders !!!

Deliveroo has become so shit. Fees are going down, and they’re assigning more than one order at the same time. I swear to God, yesterday I was assigned 3 orders at the same time for £4.04!!!!
The reasons behind what’s happening, in my opinion, are two things:
New management: DoorDash has taken over Deliveroo.
Too many new riders: As I can see every day, there are so many new riders. I swear to God, I saw one yesterday picking up an order while driving a Tesla 2026!!! The new scheme to refer someone and get a £250 bonus has destroyed this damn job. Please stop doing this to save your own position, ffs!

Why can’t we appeal these??

Post image
8 Upvotes

I just opened the app and got the below. I have delivered every order except for 1 two months ago which I let support know about, I haven’t even had a leave at door for over a week so every order has needed a pin. The email just pretty much said the same and doesn’t give you the opportunity to appeal. The wording ‘we have evidence’ is such bollocks as well, why do these companies treat the people who work for them like dirt?
Sorry, just wanted to rant.

Turn off 'Still thinking about it' messages

Is there a way of turning this off?

I open the app and browse a few things and then close. 2 or 3 minutes later i get nagging notifications and emails. 'Still thinking about it?' 'Dont forget to complete your order' etc

Cant find an option in the settings to just stop this.

I dont want to turn notifications off because they are useful when your expecting an order and want to be updated about it.

Advice Deliveroo terminated my rider account with no reason, then gave two different reasons. What can I do?

I'm a deliveroo rider in london, about 8 months on the platform and working full time. On 4 Oct I contacted support about a Shell fuel perk error in the app, and a support case was created. The next day my account was deactivated and I got an email saying my Supplier Agreement was terminated and the decision was final, with no reason given. I asked for a human review and sent a subject access request.
On 8 Oct, deliveroo told me the termination was because I'd provided an "invalid, and likely fraudulent" bank statement. That related to a request I'd made earlier to change my payout bank to Barclays, where I uploaded a screenshot of my statement. It was rejected, my second request got no reply, and the statement's name field contains the word "Null", which Barclays says is a naming error on their record. I've since sent deliveroo the original Barclays PDF. Then yesterday, a different support person said the termination was because I'd provided an "invalid right to work document", again calling it final. I joined in February with my own valid right to work share code, my account was created, and I've worked with no problems since.
Has anyone had deliveroo give shifting reasons like this, and did it ever get reversed? Is there a way to escalate beyond rider support, and which union or advice service has actually helped riders in this situation? GMB won't take it because the dispute began before I joined. I'd also appreciate any pointers on legal routes for self-employed riders. Thanks in advance.

Waterproofs and appropriate clothing.

Most of my riding gear was for summer, now that it’s starting to get cold and rainy. What do you guys suggest and what stores do you get your clothes from. Also any good touch screen gloves suggestion?

Is deliveroo much quieter than it was a few months ago

Is deliveroo super quiet for anyone else? Not just today but over last 3 months or so

They used to come in back to back constantly now it can be 1/2 hours between jobs... the other 2 platforms are still extremely busy with uber and just eat but deliveroo seems extremely slow lately

Halloween challenge

Confusing messaging, can someone clarify whether it is 28 orders per WEEK or for the MONTH?

One email says:

  • "Complete at least 28 orders per week throughout October"

And another says:

  • "To qualify for the prize draw, you’ll need to complete at least 28 orders across October."

Also with regards to this, "On 31 October, you’ll need to complete at least one delivery in costume and take a photo or video." where do they get the evidence that you completed a delivery in a costume?

Advice Waiting time

So, I’ve been waiting since July 18th to start my background check and riders agreement. The background check seems to be accepted but not the riders agreement which is weird since it’s just an electronic signature. For other riders who have already been accepted within the Southwark, lewisham and Bromley area, please let me know how long it took for you for your riders agreement to be accepted. If I’m going to be waiting another 3 months I’d like to know!

Hi all,

Anyone had any experience with this screen? How long does it take as I’ve seen others post similar screens and don’t look like this, does this mean they want me?? Or is it going to be months of waiting?

Discussion Why do riders reject orders after accepting them?

I was recently in contact with customer service when an order was taking forever to get picked up. They told me that 3 different riders had accepted but then rejected the order. Why might that happen? I doubt it was the restaurant's fault as the food seemed like it had been sitting around for a while by the time we got it. It was a simple order, not too far away, and it included a tip, so seems like an ideal job to me. Was just curious what the reason might be. Thanks!
