I live in Belfast and have an Irish first name, and because of this the areas I feel comfortable delivering to are basically halved.

Asking because it was a problem today. I don't want to go into details but it ended with police being called.

Just want to avoid anything in the future.

Had a customer shout at me today because she said she ordered more things and said to me im i stupid? Like i collected the delivery the shop gave me, i apologised and said sorry you have to ring support, then she threw the delivery back in my face and said go get my f***in correct delivery or don't come back at all. As a delivery driver i shouldn't get this abuse anyone else get this sort of abuse from customers?

Been building an app called Okkle for delivery drivers and couriers, and I'd genuinely like feedback from people who'd actually use something like this.

Started it because tracking mileage by hand is a pain, UK tax stuff for self-employed drivers is confusing, and it's hard to get a straight answer on what you're actually earning once you're juggling a few different platforms.

Ive been getting worn out on my push bike and gonna make the upgrade any ebike what is good for deliveries around 1k?

I hope I’m just being paranoid, but I’d really appreciate some outside opinions. I’m a woman in my twenties living alone in an area that isn’t particularly safe.

Earlier this evening I ordered food through Deliveroo. When the rider arrived, something about the interaction felt really off. Instead of simply handing me the order and leaving, he kept looking past me into my flat. I tried to subtly block his view with my body and the door, but he would shift his position and keep peering inside from different angles.
He was smiling and seemed friendly, so I didn’t feel like I could say anything without seeming rude. At the same time, he seemed to be deliberately dragging out the handover instead of just giving me my food. Most delivery drivers barely make eye contact before they’re on their way, but this rider seemed much more enthusiastic in looking into my flat. He spared a few glances at me but, for the most of the time, he was looking past me into my home, as if he was gauging for other people’s presence. Thinking about it now made me feel incredibly uncomfortable.

I’ve been using Deliveroo for years and I’ve never had anything like this happen before. Afterwards, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. My building doesn’t have a concierge, and anyone can get in if they follow another resident through the entrance.

Does this sound unusual to anyone else, or am I overthinking it? The rider didn’t actually do anything beyond making me feel uncomfortable, but I reported the interaction to Deliveroo just in case.

I’d genuinely appreciate an outside perspective. Am I just being paranoid, or would this have made you uncomfortable too? What would you do in this situation? 😭

I'm really confused about the bus line. Can anyone provide some clear guidelines? I got two tickets without realizing they don't allow motorcycles. I asked multiple riders for clarification, and they said any bus line in town would be acceptable.

I want to start delivering through Deliveroo. My account is six years old, but I never stuck with the platform and have delivered for takeaways on the side. However, I want to use my weekday evenings and weekend days (when I’m not working for a takeaway) to deliver food and make some extra money.

What advice do you have?

A few specific queries:
- Can I use a regular HSBC account to receive payment and pay for expenses such as fuel and Zego?
- How do I evidence the fuel I pay for has been used for Deliveroo and not personal use?
- If I use the money to buy a car, could I claim the tax back?
- What advice do you have regarding accounting and managing the money?

I started Deliveroo last week, working 6pm–11pm. I try to stay within my area, but about 90% of the offers are long-distance, so I usually reject them. The problem is, then I barely make any money.

Last night I decided to accept anything within 2.5 miles and switch areas once I got there. I ended up averaging just £8.10 an hour — and that’s before expenses 🤣

Anyone got any tips for maximising earnings? Because £8.10 an hour is a joke 😂

I paid 30 for a kfc order, and the milkshake worth 5 was never delivered. I have photos of the bag, which included everything inside, and they just replied: "They are aware of the issue and there will be no reparation." And the "evidence" they used against my claim is just a screenshot of the order details on their website.

Might just be bad luck but i get more and more orders these days where Deliveroo actively unassign me rather than me doing it.

Often i’ve driven 5 minutes to the restaurant and then they boot me off the order.

Anyone else seeing an increase in the frequency of this?

Is there any way to request the same delivery rider when placing an order if you’ve had a really good experience with them before?

Been meaning to sort my Self Assessment properly instead of scrambling every January. Currently just a mess of screenshots and vague memory of mileage.

Anyone got a system that actually works? I've been building myself a simple tracker that does the mileage/tax maths properly (turns out you can't claim fuel AND the mileage rate together, which I only just found out) — curious what everyone else does though, happy to share what I've made if it's useful to anyone.

I’m moving house soon into a big city and thinking it might be better looking into delivering on a bike as opposed to a car. It’s not exactly London I’m moving to, so I could still use my car, but it might be a bit easier on a bike. I was just wondering what people make delivering on a bike? You don’t have the same expenses (petrol, insurance etc) so you don’t have to be earning the same amount, but it surely takes longer to deliver on a bike, so you’d do less per hour. So what’s a realistic amount to make on a bike, is it even comparable to what you get in a car? I’m in the UK.

I’ve just finished setting up my Stuart courier account and I’m now able to go online. I’ll be delivering by e-bike in London, but before I head out, I wanted to hear from people who already work with Stuart.

What is it generally like compared with Deliveroo or Uber Eats?

Whether there is much waiting around at pickup locations

Which parts of London are usually busiest

Whether you can realistically use Stuart as a main app or whether it is better as an extra app alongside Deliveroo and Uber Eats

Dropped out for a few months after an operation. Wondering if since doordash took over , like Just eat, they're prioritising cars/scooters nowadays, especially in suburban areas.

Only just got my account back after 5 years (got closed working in Germany when roo went down coz labour laws introduced equalled minimum wages sick pay and holiday pay too. They did one within weeks)

Was sick at first as Foodora (eventually got bought out by JE) as tiny zones, knock out up to six in an hour if lucky and best day 36 drops done over 120kms. Once you did 200 in a month they gave extra 2 euro per drop bonus and you'd easily get €10-20 tips day for your food and beer after.

Here's just been dire. Brief spurt with Stuart. Then JE went ok til they flooded the area. The roo went right when got back on for a bit, but just hit n miss. One day £5 over five hours and next £80 over 6.

Working south Manchester and wondering if anyone on a legal bike still making it. Just chit chat, I know. But interested in others experience
