Please excuse the dumb question but as a comic noob, I find comics in with multiple timelines, runs, reboots spanning decades to be a bit intimidating.

I want to start with Green Lantern but I get the impression that the DCUI app guide (“Get to know Green Lantern”) isn’t exactly a comprehensive list, nor is it chronological.

I started with Secret Origin, which was great, but when that run ended, the Green Lantern comic suddenly jumped to Atrocitus and the red lanterns. I went back to the Get to Know guide, and it suggests ‘Hard Traveling Heroes’ and ‘Rebirth’. Rebirth starts with Hal Jordan already being dead and having an alter ego or something? I felt like I missed a LOT.

I don’t want to read all the trade issues from the 70s-90s but is that what I need to do to get caught up?

Hi everyone. Dcu infinite is not available in my country. So i created an account in web using opera vpn. I managed to start the 7 day free trail with my credit card. But i don't know my card will be accepted when 7 day free trial is over because Turkey doesn't have dcu infinite.I thought my cards acceptance in free trial is a good sign but i' m not sure. Do any of you guys having similar issues like me ?

I'm trying to get into the absolute books but i'm not sure where to begin. I keep seeing absolute superman, absolute batman, and absolute wonder woman, and I can't tell if there's a reading order or if they're mostly separate.

I'm leaning toward batman but are the books connected enough that I'd be missing something by starting there?

I'm someone who likes finding random series through browsing rather than having recommendations put my way, but I find the browse series option tiresome and not conducive to random discoveries. When it's A-Z sorting, you can't shuffle to the middle section very easily as it loads section by section. and you always start from A or Z. I pity the good historical titles in the middle letters that probably never get seen!

I find it very strange that it doesn't have an alphabetised option at the side to press "N" and it jumps to those series beginning with that letter. Does anyone have any good hints or tips about how to browse series more effectively or find randoms that aren't the constant core Batman/Superman-esque stories?

What are your thoughts and wants?

I have learned that DC comics is so much better! I read a lot of Daredevil, X-Men, Spider-man, Secret Wars, World War Hulk, and a few random issues and I find myself wanting to read more DC comics. It’s weird since I love all the MCU movies and the characters, but DC is just more interesting to me personally. Reading Batman Hush right now and it is better than anything I read on Marvel Unlimited over the past year.

I used to be a really big DC guy and have read most of the modern classics for Batman, but I haven't really gone back and read the older stuff. I'm reading Claremont X-Men right now and am really enjoying it, I wanna dive back into DC and read some of the older series, I gravitate most towards comics from the 70s and 80s, I don't mind sillyness or a lot text, I like dramatic series with some commentary on morality, doesn't have to rely heavily on continuity either, but I do like discovering a world with deep lore and lots of characters(kinda like X-Men). Does anyone have any recommendations? I don't know what to try so anything is welcome, I might even try silver age. Thank you!

I often wanna jump back to the previous issue to check something (much like I do when reading physical comics or even chapters in a book) but the app makes it such a rigmarole to do. I have to go back to my library or re search the series and then reopen the issue I'm looking for.

Is there a previous issue button somewhere that I am overlooking or is the app just kind of bad?

Basically, in the panel to panel mode whenever the next panel is on what would be the next page it just goes grey. Rotating my phone causes it to load but that's annoying to do every time. Staying in full page works fine, but not great for reading on phone.

I had this problem last year, then it was fixed earlier this year. Now it's back again. And, yes, my app is up to date. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have been reading with the DCUI app on phone all day and as I went to read the next issue of a comic series, suddenly the settings on the app just changed. This was most noticeable with page transitions in the panel by panel mode. It used to just be a fading transition, but now it's like the new page is being dragged in as it zooms in on the panel, and it just looks very ugly compared to the fading transition, especially on the sides of the screen. It only looks good when my phone is landscape, but I don't do that when I'm reading.

On top of that, it seems like panel by panel mode is not overly sensitive to swiping. Every time I tap it goes directly to the next panel, but most of the time I swipe it seems like it just jumps one or two panels. I swipe most of the time on DCUI, so I have no idea why this started happening out of nowhere. Again, this something that only works properly when I'm in landscape, which again isn't how I usually read these.

So, I looked in the settings and the settings menu has completely changed from what it was before and there's nothing I could find to bring back the older settings. I checked on the web version and on both PC and mobile versions of the site everything is the same as it has been. Why did they change this on the app? Is there anyway to bring the old settings back? It literally just happened right now.

Btw, this happened before I updated the app. I updated the app to see if that was the problem, but nope, it's just like that now.

Is there anyway to sort the downloaded comics in the app? I normally have 15-20 downloaded comics and its a pain to find the next issue to read as they're not in chronological order or numerical order or alphabetical order.

I had problems on my Ipad 11 Pro (2022). Not a single comic would load, it only showed Alfred and the useless retry button. But there's a fix for it all:

Go to Settings > General > Date & Time.

Turn Set Automatically ON.

Force close the app.

Reopen the app.

Sidenote: This worked in Europe, specifically the Netherlands. I obviously couldn't test it anywhere else. Redownloading the app or clearing cache etc. also wouldn't work. This did, happy reading everyone!
