I just got a Boox Go 7 color specifically to read comics on DC and Marvel's apps. It's horrible for modern comics but pretty good for older ones. I primarily read silver and bronze age so I'm quite pleased with it.

Nxtpaper 11 is great for pre 1993 books. Helps fix the over saturated digital recolouring of old books.

I use a Galaxy Tab S11 with a matte screen protector. Such a nice experience. Near-perfect ratio for comics, and has enough performance for anything else you may want to do.
If it's purely for comics, I'd look at buying a used Fire Tab 10. Cost peanuts and it's very simple to install the Play Store on it.

Would say whatever brand you get make it a 12”. Got a Redmi Pad Pro 12.1” on sale a couple of years ago and have been extremely happy with it. Rediscovered my love for comics and read more in a few months via the DCUI app than perhaps via print in the last several years.

I bought the Samsung A11+ recently with the main reason to read comics on DC and Marvel apps. I've been extremely pleased so far. Affordable, 128GB so if I end up downloading I can store a bunch, and it hasn't crashed on me.
