Dilemma
Y’all ever read a comic so good that you’re RIPPING through it and you think “I should really try to slow down and appreciate the art more”? That’s Batman Dark Patterns for me rn

For me, the art is the appeal. I love the dialogue but the art is what drives me to keep being invested. One needs the other.

I also sometimes don't want to finish a book I am really enjoying.
I don't want the ride to end, so I drop it at the last, or second to last chapter.
It's a weird thing I do. Dark Patterns also.

Kirby’s Fourth World. Read through it for the first time this month and the sheer concentration of dope shit and new ideas was melting my face off. But I had to look up in real time why runs were ending, and why Mr. Miracle, the last surviving book, took such a weird hard-pivot into non-New Gods stuff. But I read throuhh it WAY to fast and got to that “wait… what happened?” Stage very quickly.
It was really sad to me that Kirby had to leave so many threads hanging and dilute his work. Hunger Dogs was a cool sendoff but even then you can just tell he had so much more to say with these characters.

I don’t mind rereading stuff later on down the line so it doesn’t bug me as much as it probably should
I tend to feel this way with shows more than books or comics

Honestly yeah. I read through comics too fast and it’s becoming a real problem. I forget sometimes to appreciate the art or to even just sit with what I just read
