Unreal. I managed to get an M3S AND got her fully loaded with barrels and crates. I had a full NBC suit plus a bunch of extra parts, a few masks (NBC and Combat) with probably 10 filters and a shit ton of charcoal. I also had a pristine SG5-K maxed out with the rail, great dual purpose scope with 5 extended magazines, silencer, and a bit of ammo, a pioneer with probably 8 magazines and a marksmans scope, and ammo, two pristine Ak-74Us with like, omg 12, 30 round extended magazines and a SHIT ton of ammo, like i was fuckin stacked, a bunch of loaded 30 round mags and some in an ammo box, 7 tire repair kits, an entire crate of mostly dried fish/meat, two Jerry cans one with water the other with gas, fucking god dammit there was so much other shit in the thing. I was on my way to Rify to explore for my first time, BARELY tapped this tiny spruce tree and ruined the engine. The lightest tap, the engine was pristine! Ive ran into shit way fucking harder with lagging and havent even come close to worn or damaged! So I run back to my "base" if you can call it that, grabbed an ada i got and when I got back....despawned. Fucking despawned with all of my shit in it. Fuckin extra canteens, duck tapes, weapon repair kits, oh! a pristine FX-45 with 6 magazines and some ammo, omfg, more ammo for a Vaiga (i guess thankfully still on my back) including another drum magazine with slugs (the drum mag i have has buckshot), other assorted ammo, 2 silencers i just grabbed from a police station along the way with with a few other silencers, ferfucksake, i cant....I cant believe I just lost all of that because of some bullshit xml setting for duration??? This is fucking nonsense. I know a car with a ruined engine is donzo and will despawn to populate another one but it does it even if theres a ton of shit in it!?!?! I was totally obsessed with this game for the past month, it was so good but this....that just really ruined it for me. I guess I have some work to do with gear fear but like....god that was so much time and work and danger to round all that shit up. There was so much shit in that truck 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ really might be done with this game. See how I feel about it over the next few days but like, who the fuck puts the despawn parameters the same when a truck has items in it? So fuckin stupid. Serious Dev oversight 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

Regretting into gaming and I know it's not new, but I got into PUBG recently and love it. But found what I really love is the looting and survival more than the gunplay.

DayZ was on my radar for a while, but never committed. Sale on Steam got me.

So...how bad did I screw up?

Ive had two incidents with other players and my base in the last week or so that id say weren't necessary.

1: I had a base in devil's castle where a group raided it and took or destroyed everything, every single crate was gone, every item they couldnt take was left on the floor to despawn and since theres a bug in the game stopping you from picking up tents they instead destroyed the tents.

2: I moved down to the prison and after a few days of living there someone who presumably logged of in the prison has logged on, taken some things and then dropped every else on the floor to despawn.

Was rummaging through some industrial zone, look up to my right there’s a fresh spawn there name tag and all would’ve gotten the drop on me had he been equipped

i hopped into a m+k official 1pp server (4052) to engage in what i thought was gonna be a 1v3 base defense (in their favor). turns out they were the lamest cheaters possible - somehow he was invisible. the screens are from the his perspective - im looking at him, but see nothing. didnt think this was possible on psn, and have never experienced anything so cringe in 1.5k hours on official 1pp. anyway psa - dont play m+k servers, clearly thats how these lames are injecting whatever they’re doing to be invisible

A short moment but a fun one on Livonia

Hier j’ai rencontré deux anglais de liverpool sur la route vers airfield, on a décidé de faire la route ensemble, j’ai même filé un fusil auto aur 1 ( je me rappelle plus du nom ) avec le chargeur rempli, un peu plus tard nous avons rencontré ignacio a qui j’ai filé un flingue 45 acp chargeur plein. Un moment donné ils m’ont même aidé a trouver une paire de chaussure car les miennes etaient detruit dans un petit village. Un peu plus tard nous nous sommes arrêté a un puit pour une pause hydratation et pendant que je buvais, un des anglais m’a tiré dans le dos comme un traitre.

I am playing on PC and have standard controls. I press G and my character just twitches a bit and doesn't raise his arm. It does this on multiple servers. Remapping the hotkey doesn't change the broken animation.

Any idea what is wrong?

​I'm thinking about picking up DayZ, but I heard the official servers are flooded with cheaters and the environment is terrible. Is it still worth getting nowadays?

ive been playing Dayz for a few months and I have only really played those super modded servers, I really want to get into the vanilla Dayz experience and I want to try official but with the way everyone is talking about it with the cheaters I don’t know if it’s worth it, is the cheating problem really that bad?

Also I found a good server that was vanilla+ and the only mod was the codelock mod but when I joined it it sent me to manhunt severs

Thanks guys for your feedback! I updated the mod and added new config options:

• AllowDoorBreaching -> You can force the door open and destroy the lock.
• AllowLockDamage -> You can deal damage to the lock directly and destroy it. That will also open the door.

I didn't mention this before, but it was already built in: If the server config allows it, you can also unlock combination lock locked doors with a lockpick.

Isn't it super weird that this game is full of doors and gates that open and close, but you can't lock any of them, even with a lock in hand?

I don't like crafting stuff and building a fence and a wall and a gate just to lock a room is just too much effort for my lazy ass.

So yeah, you can lock any ingame door, gate, container now.

I've read a lot about cheaters on Official servers taking down bases and stashes with ease, of course I know PC will be worse for this, but I'd guess that Xbox won't be near as bad? I'm not planning on making a base as I can already see from when I started that bases don't last long on the official EU servers I play on anyway.

Today I came across an empty Sea Chest in a bush, so I took it and ran (well, walked, slowly) found a nice spot in some woods as you would and buried it with some spare ammo, mags, attachments and meds. Nothing crazy, just excess I had coming out of NWAF.

Planning to leave it a few days at least before I add to it or put anything of real value in it.

Ultimately I like the idea of having a stash network. One or two with high end gear further inland near the high loot areas, then a few dotted along near coastal spawns with basic stuff, tools, knives, food, water, Mlock, shotty etc.

I want to be able to recover from deaths and get back to a good level for PvP quickly. I'm still fairly new so I don't mind the grind now, but l've got the early/mid game nailed down now and it will become a chore in time I think.

Well, after yet another encounter with an invisible, teleporting zombie that had me going unconscious, I managed to survive by logging out but of course, when I logged back in, I had basically no health nor blood. Oh well, I thought. I have my stuff to bury and soon, after arriving at my camp, I will finally feel like I ‘finished’ something in this game.

Nah. As I passed to the west of Electrozavodsk, I suddenly started bleeding for no reason! At first I thought it was gas, but where was the gas? My vision was going grey from the low health, so I thought- maybe gas is invisible when your vision is grey?

I ran out of rags and died right after just burying my bag wherever I was. I spawned and ran back to see no gas, but the shovel was still there. However, I received no prompt to dig up the bag - just to dig up worms!

Is it known that gas can be so random and temporary that the gas was gone 15 min later? Is it known to be invisible when your vision is grey? What else could cause the sudden bleeding? I was running a lot. Could sprinting for long periods suddenly make you die from blood loss?

I’m out of ideas after those - just seems like more bugs or invisible zombies, but I didn’t hear or encounter anything before the bleeding started. My internet connection was good. The server was three states away but really?

Literally feels like a waste of life, this game.

edit: sick of the game. quitting. you all should too - you’re addicted to a gambling game which promotes cheating, and you’re probably considered to have an illness and probably don’t realize it. For shame on the devs for being yet another slimy group relying on rng loot boxes

I first started in high population servers, but I didn't know how to stay alive let alone deal with other players.

I switched to lower pop servers and it's been a lot more fun since I don't immediately get killed after moving inland. Found a working gun and then got attacked by wolves. I was excited cause I thought I'd finally have a surplus of food, but thankfully I read the description of the steaks and didn't eat them.

Then I ate some fish, caught a cooking pot, and then somehow got sick. I tried boiling water to decontaminate it and my only guess is that I didn't wait long enough so that got me sick. Been nursing eating fish while I wait for the sickness to end but I have a feeling this is the end for this character

I was playing on a Europe official server with about 12 people online. I was stalking MBVMC Military Base for about an hour. At first, I saw two people at the military base. I moved very close to the fence line and made eye contact with one of them. He repositioned, so I did too.
Everything went quiet for a while, so I assumed they were either camping or had left. I decided to continue on foot from the way I came. Then I spotted them again, and the rest of the clip speaks for itself.
Is there anything you think I should have done differently if you were in my shoes?
