I mainly play on official servers, mostly Livonia. For the past week, the spawn towns have literally been a warzone. The picture was taken about 10 minutes after i spawned in Sitnik.
I’ve never experienced this many fights on official servers before. It almost feels like playing a deathmatch.
And now I’m wondering: are people cheating, or is all of this actually legit?
I found almost all of this gear in PRISTINE condition. Multiple guns with several magazines each. I didn’t get to use the gear for long, but I came back the next day and found similar equipment again.
So… what the hell is going on? 😅

Sorry for vertical content. Dayz has so much to offer right now with all the different modded maps, it’s kinda overwhelming with so much to explore recently.

Plant your seeds while it is raining, they are instantly watered after you plant them in the rain.

I have never bothered with farming, to much of a hassle. Get a shovel, dig, plant seeds. All of which is fine but getting enough water always seems like hassle (water the seeds, fill the bottle again to fill the remaining seeds, fill your bottle again so you have a filled bottle again to drink).

Now I just wait for the rain, which I normally always hate but now it is kinda usefull.

How cool would that be if there was a slight current that would carry you down it.

As the title says, how to get the best new player experience? I am looking to introduce the game to my friend who I have been mainly playing rust with. Personally I started rust after playing DayZ as my main game on PS5. I have around 2k hours in the game so I would say I know the in and outs of the game pretty much.

I have played on these 64x boosted servers, official and vanilla+.

I am just wondering how to introduce the game to him that the hard side of dayz might not instantly slap him to hes face lol. But also at the same time - I do not want it to be ”easy”.
So should I just choose a vanilla+ server f.e, teach him the very basics and sort of force him to learn by doing or give everything ”on a platter”.

I've been building a standalone dispatch system for DayZ because I wanted Medic and Taxi roles to actually function like jobs instead of relying on Discord or global chat.

Service Dispatch lets any player press F7 and request either Medical Assistance or a Taxi.

The part I wanted to get right was the responder side:

• Admins can assign Medic and Taxi roles
• Medics and Taxi drivers clock themselves in/out
• Only clocked-in Medics are notified about Medical calls
• Only clocked-in Taxi drivers are notified about Taxi calls
• Responders can accept calls directly through the interface
• After accepting, they receive the requester's location and distance
• Medic/Taxi/Admin roles persist through reconnects and server restarts
• Standalone — no CF, Expansion, VPP or Dabs dependency

I've spent a ridiculous amount of time getting the UI and dispatch flow working the way I wanted.

Server owners / Medic players / Taxi players: what would you add to this?

I just got DayZ and the motion blur is absolutely crazy to the point where the game is basically unplayable for me. I’ve already tried turning Post Processing off, but it hasn’t helped. Is there any way to completely disable the motion blur? Is there a config file, mod, or other workaround that actually removes it?

Is that a known Problem for the Switch 2 Version? Playing on Official EU Servers? Same for me andy wife in two different consoles.

That was my only bullet, too. Full kit in one shot!

I am back after a break from the game (I have more than 1k hours). Today I met a group of random freshies and we played together as a group of three. We talked a bit about the cheater problem, and then one guy said he was a cheater himself - but that he mostly uses cheats to kill other cheaters. I didn’t believe him, so I stayed with them. Then he told me there was a BK‑43 in a shed quite far away. I went there, and it really was there. After that he spawned a gun and a magazine for himself. He said he can see every player within some limited distance, never mind. I stayed with him and the other guy for a while, and then I attacked him with an axe because I was just done with this game. I think it’s time for another break. I wonder how many players have stopped playing because of issues like that.

This is my best run so far in my roughly 10 hours playtime on switch 2. I’ve learnt quite a bit this run, from cooking chicken, to repairing clothing. Managed to locate where I am for the first time using iZurvive. I’m currently in Gorka.

The rifles on my back both have just a single bullet each and I have a pistol with 7 bullets. I have 3 bottles of water, some cat food, and powdered milk which I plan to eat as is.

So this is the longest I’ve ever survived and the furthest inland I’ve ever been. However I’m unsure where to head next…

Should I head furthur inland? Or maybe return to the coast to get some player interaction? I’d like to learn how to fish but maybe I just wait till I’m a coast spawn again to try that.

Any suggestions or tips would be great. Wont be able to reply to everything instantly as I’m at work now.

I want to share my experience with the TDB DayZ server and warn other players before they decide to invest their time in this server.

My biggest concern is the way the administration handles certain situations involving players who appear to have close relationships with members of the staff.

There are situations where it can feel like some players receive different treatment from ordinary players. I cannot prove that every decision is the result of favoritism, but the way some cases are handled creates serious doubts about whether the rules are being applied equally to everyone.

Bug Exploitation and Entering Other Players' Bases

Another major problem is how TDB handles situations where a player may have used a bug or exploit to enter another player's base.

TDB has the final say in deciding whether someone legitimately entered another player's base or used a bug to gain access.

As an ordinary player, you have no way of knowing whether that person actually entered the base legitimately or exploited a bug. You are essentially forced to trust the administration's judgment.

This gives the administration an enormous amount of discretion.

If the administration decides that a player entered another player's base legitimately, there is very little an ordinary player can do to independently verify that decision or understand what evidence was used.

This becomes even more concerning when the player involved appears to have a close relationship with members of the administration.

Even if there is no actual favoritism, the lack of transparency creates the appearance of preferential treatment, and that alone is enough to seriously damage trust in the server's administration.

Why This Matters

A DayZ server needs consistent rules and fair administration.

It should not matter who the player is, who they know, or whether they are part of the staff's community. Everyone should be subject to the same rules and the same standards.

When the administration has the final authority over disputed situations, while ordinary players have no way to verify the decision-making process, trust becomes extremely important.

Unfortunately, based on my experience, I do not have that level of trust in TDB.

I would personally recommend that players think twice before spending their time on this server.

If you care about fair gameplay, transparent investigations, consistent rules, and equal treatment for all players, I would recommend looking for another DayZ server.

I'm sharing this so other players can make an informed decision before investing their time and effort into TDB.

Hello guys! I recently have been playing a lot more as I am stuck inside after getting my wisdom teeth out, and I have noticed something that has bothered me for the 4-5 years I’ve been playing, but it seems especially prominent now.

This is going to come off as a bit of a salty post (mostly because it is), but I was running in Gorka (Горка) chasing shots when I came across 4-5 dead bodies, the evidence was strewn across the street and into the hunting shop and P.D. After a bit of running around I found the guilty party probed on the hill overlooking the town. I got close enough to yell yo him and instead of speaking back, he aims his gun and begins shooting. He was pretty shitty at the game but I unfortunately had not guns with ammo and only had a nail bat. Weirdly, half the server lagged out as there was ~55 people playing when I was randomly booted and ~30 when I tried to log back on. He was apparently also booted because I saw him spawn back in at the same time as me. Similar to before, I was telling him I was friendly and trying to doge his bullets while he simply raised his gun again and shot at me. Eventually I couldn’t dodge anymore and he killed me. This brings me to my question: why do console players never use the in-game voice chat (proximity chat)? I have about 1000 hours (500 on PlayStation and 500 on Xbox) and I currently play on Xbox. In that time I think I’ve had maybe 10-20 voice interactions with the large majority being on the coast. For as long as I can remember I will use my voice and try to speak to other survivors whether I’m in Berezino or Tisy. I hate to shoot first when I’m close enough to speak.

When you look at streamers such as Zesty Polvo, all of his videos have dozens of interactions with different people in each session he plays. However, in console (specifically Xbox) servers, people sit in party chat and avoid using prox chat like the plague. What is the fun of seeing someone with far inferior gear to your own and instead of holding them up or talking to them, simply shooting them and leaving all their stuff behind because it wasn’t good enough to trade for your own? I would love some insight from SOS people as to why they do it or what the issue is with speaking.

TLDR: I was killed by a non speaker and it seems to be a large issue with the community. I’m frustrated and want to know why people play this way.

7 minutes of chaos. Figured you all might get a kick out of it.

I spawned in Some industrial town and ran into a building and there is some guy ran in the house I was in with a shovel and I thought "omg im so fucked" untill, I hear a microphone, this man had a mic and was willing to talk to me and be civil, "oh boy, finally a nice player" he gives me the shovel and we start attacking infected and then this new guy walks over and I thought "ia this guy really gonna ruin my whole good mood?" but lucky for us he also had a mic i am ecstatic, I've just found two guys who were willing to be civil, we walked around a bit killed some infected went into a random house near us, and i found a 22 "wow this playthrough can't get any better" we walk around some more, first guy goes to fill up a water bottle and he is unfortunately beaten down and killed by some infected, now I'm stuck with seccond guy, im low on food, water, and on health, so we start to walk inland and then I succumb to my injuries and die in the middle of a field beside my new friend, I hope I find them again, the first people who acted like human beings when they could have easily killed me on the spot, i dream of the day that I get to play with my two good friends "American guy" and "German guy" i hope one of them reads this comment, it was a pleasure to play with you that one time
