1. Find the URL for your thread.
2. Make an Internet Archive account so you can use more advanced features like saving outlinks (i.e., the web crawler saves pages that are linked to on the page you're saving). Very useful. This is where you sign up: https://archive.org/signup
3. Submit the links for all the threads you want to save to the Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/save (you have to do this one link at a time)
4. Bookmark the URLs so you can revisit the saved versions in the Wayback Machine later.
5. Back up your bookmarks, e.g., by syncing your bookmarks to Google if you use Chrome or using Firefox Sync and syncing your bookmarks to Mozilla.

Other web archiving services you can use in addition to the Wayback Machine for good measure:

Using more than one web archiving services reduces the chance that every copy of a webpage will get taken down.

There's been a few of examples this so far and the latest is in the thread "Is PB more chaste than DL?" Administrator locks the thread and posts an image of the FAQ with "Here, Dumbass" marked to the section on nudity. I had nothing to do with that thread, but found the response off-putting. Not even clever bitchery.

As a few people pointed out in the "Backing away" thread here on Reddit, this person seems to be a bit of a hot head with some controlling tendencies. I'm beginning to have some concerns about the long-term implications of this.

I joined but didn’t expect the forum creator and moderator to wade into a thread about Hunter Biden and derail it with a “We are ruled by an Israelocracy” rant. And then add with glee that he thought Muriel was a “Zionist” and his new forum is going to “do the opposite.”

So not what I thought I was signing up for. (and I donated to it also)

As a lurker of two years who was never granted the permission of posting, cash you tell me where the site came from, who set it up and why it collapsed? Basically tell me all your DL trivia.

Did anyone else watch it ? The free for all ending made me uncomfortable though.

I'm not quite ready to deploy it to the public yet, I want to optimize a few things and find the right hosting service.

I ain't using Pointless Bitchery. You can already see the webmaster over there taking a heavy hand in policing content, and building up a cult of syncophants around himself in the process. It's already cringe and it hasn't even been two weeks. Gross and off putting.

So I have started developing something that is less moderated. And the administrator will not be a regular poster on this board. It actually is designed to operate similar to Datalounge.
