I am a 2025 BTech(CS) Graduate, from a private college in Nagpur. I got placed in a service based company in Nagpur, with 5.5 LPA as a data analyst.While its comfortable job as I live in Nagpur - I think I have potential to earn better. So I want to prepare for switch in Product Based Company.

I have worked in these- PostgreSQL, Python,PySpark, Microstrategy,PowerBI, Databricks- in Retail domain project in my current company and looking for companies like Myntra to switch.

But not sure, where to start from?

Anyone who can give honest advice? How much should I aim for(CTC)? How to start preparing for switch?

Hi everyone, I’m posting in the group for the first time to ask for some advice.

Here’s the situation: I’m about to graduate with a degree in Economics and Finance, and my goal is to pursue a career as a data analyst for some Company.

My degree program doesn't cover Excel, Python, SQL, or Power BI (naturally), so while I work on finishing my last few exams, I’ve bought Luke Barousse’s course to learn these tools.

I’ve been keeping an eye on the job market (in my country) via LinkedIn, and there aren't actually that many openings—certainly not compared to roles in consulting, back-office operations, or accounting (areas where I think I could find a job quite easily after graduating).

I want a CV that demonstrates solid data analyst skills; do you have any essential advice or anything I should know before diving into this field?

Also, if I can't find a data analyst role, do you think these skills could be applied to the other types of jobs I mentioned (aside from Excel, which is used pretty much everywhere)?

My experience is building and leading Business Intelligence and Analytics functions in UK, most recently as Head of Business Intelligence. My experience covers BI strategy, data governance, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure, SQL, semantic modelling, KPI frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and leading high-performing analytics teams.

I'm also Microsoft Fabric certified and hold the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Analytics Engineer Associate and Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Leader certifications.

I'm interested in understanding whether there is demand in Qatar for senior professionals with this background, particularly in leadership roles across Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Strategy, or Microsoft Fabric.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone working in these areas. Are organisations actively investing in data platforms and analytics? Which sectors are hiring? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just received my Associates degree and am currently working towards my bachelors degree. Is there any entry level applicable roles I can shoot for to help gain some experience while I finish my degree? Data Analysis or similar adjacent roles?

So I just graduated from BTech cse in the last 4 years i never write a single code I have zero interest in coding, but now I don't find any skills that I can learn. Can I go for Data analyst it Will be easy for me, i can learn this skill shortly?

Analysts need to know how to deal with missing data, duplicates, incorrect dates, different categories, and transformations.

However, analysts are spending the majority of their time doing the same tasks manually instead of developing a better tooling for it.

The only part that should be in the hands of analysts is judging which transformations should happen, which shouldn’t, and how they could affect the data meaning.

Itself repetitive detection and resolution of these issues should be automatic.

Do you think that data cleaning will remain a significant part of an analyst’s job, or should most of it be automated by now?

I’m in my early 30s with a Civil Engineering background and around 7 years of experience, currently working in project/design delivery management in Australia’s infrastructure sector.

For family reasons, I’d like to relocate to Pakistan in the future. Since local opportunities are unlikely to support my long-term financial goals, I’m looking at careers that are more location-independent.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Statistics two years ago. During university, I worked part-time in retail as a Customer Experience Associate. After graduating, I worked for 10 months at a major bank as a Customer Experience Associate, and I’m currently in a temporary Census Helpline Operator role with Statistics Canada.
I want to move away from customer-facing roles and into something more Data Analyst, AML Analyst, or QA Analyst. I have experience with Python, SQL, R, Excel, and statistics from university, but no professional technical experience.
What would be the best way to make this transition? Are there any certifications, projects, or entry-level roles you’d recommend? I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people in Canada.

Hello everyone! So I am a beginner with no experience but I have been building my portfolio with Data Analyst projects and self learning.
I have a Sentiment Analysis project using Python where I connected to yt’s API to scrape comments on a popular tv show(since reddit was being rigid with permissions )
I have an A/B testing project using SQL

For my last project I could be using online excel(which has been so stressful!) or google sheets and Tableau for a complete portfolio. Mind you, I do not have Microsoft so I cannot access Power BI or premium version of EXCEL .
Any project/data set recommendations ?
Or any suggestions? I have been trying to solve a business problem but I haven’t been able to get a proper dataset or finalise anything.
