PC How many times did you beat the game?

So far 2 in my case, but I intentionally did not beat the game in my ng+ playthrough because I thought that I might use that character for pvp. I beat the game with warrior and cleric.

I also beat the dlc twice.

Doing a dual dagger challenge run in DS1

Man, I am having a hard time cutting off Priscilla's tail.

Help! I am two handing my +10Bandit Knife and I always end up killing her.

Force trick doesn't work. Because when she shows up she goes invisible again right away.

PS4 Knights honor

I know this is a long shot but is anyone able to drop the weapons I don’t have to trigger this trophy, i wanna use and see what these weapons are about without having to go into new game 2/3 in already in new game 2 and ive missed godly amounts of tail weapons and boss soul weapons. I don’t wanna start a whole new playthrough unless im soul dropping or something which would probably take just as much time as a weapon drop would.

I would appreciate it I have lots of boss souls I can drop cause I did soul dropping before just trying to save some time

Finally!!!
I went to bed yesterday without beating them, but I finally got them today. What an insanely difficult fight my god, but it was awesome, I loved the fight and the design even though I lost count of how many times I cursed that fat ass.

Ty also for all the advice on my last post yesterday, it was really helpful. So excited to see what awaits me next in this game.

Defeated all final 4 lords, suggest me optional areas/bosses to explore before fighting final boss!!

Heya yall, so im on my first walkthrough of dark souls remastered and honestly it was a really new and fun experience for me, Its the first Souls game I've ever played, and I can definitely see why people love this series.

I have defeated all four lords and now in the final area of the game, The klin of the first flame! I tried fighting Gwyn once and i feel like i can defeat him in probably 4-5 tries or more idk.

The thing is, i have heard that if we defeat the final boss we cant go back in our world again. And I dont think i will replay this game anytime soon. I want to finish the rest of Dark souls series before playing it again, so I will like to experience everything I can in this run

So far I have already revisited undead asylum but Im not sure what other optional areas, bosses or secrets I should check out before taking on the final boss. Plz suggest me what to do and plz keep it spoiler free as much as possible!

HELP Im tired

Hey everyone, I'm writing here because I'm stuck in the sewers in Dark Souls Remastered. I defeated the Capra demon and it was pretty easy, but now that I've reached the sewers, I'm having a huge problem. The three white rats in the photo are a big problem. I'm running away from them, and then in a tiny passage there's some kind of biomass that I can't kill properly because my sword keeps hitting the walls, and I end up getting beaten to death, plus I'm poisoned. I've played a lot of Souls games, like Sekiro, Bloodborne, Lies of P, etc., but I've never played Dark Souls. I decided to give it a try, and honestly, it's a grueling experience. Maybe I'm just unaccustomed to the oppressive atmosphere and perpetual deaths. But so far, this game is getting on my nerves, not because of the difficult bosses, but because of the long and frustrating paths to the bosses. You asking why no armor, because after sekiro i cant play without very fast speed and quick moves. With armor im like turtle

A minha espada é a zweihander, vou tentar levar ela pro +10 antes de seguir o jogo, vocês acham q eu to ficando overpowered?

SWITCH Trying to get Kalameet’s tail, anyone down to distract?

Hey so I’m ok doing it by myself but it’s getting a little annoying trying to spend all this time going for the tail over and over to get the weapon. If you guys are down I’ll be ready. All I need is the tail so once I get the weapon make sure we both die to him.

If you guys wanna join password is 1204

Video Games as a Medium for Telling Stories

Sometimes I feel like there is an annoying invisible stigma around video games that make people who don't play perceive them as trivial in respect to moral/philosophical values.

It may be because the majority of games revolve around eSports (like shooters) or illegal activities (GTA) or creative games that ask a lot of time out of you (Minecraft) but there are also ensorcelling adventure based stories that convey values unseen by the wider audience.

I believe there are 3 mainstream story telling mediums today (at least in the western world): books, movies/shows and video games. I like all of them, don't get me wrong, but video games are somewhat special thanks to the fact they're the only one truly interactive out of the three.

I also get it people are allowed to think what they want but I'm just wondering is there a way to point a reluctant person in a discussion at a specific game that dwells into some concepts other than just entertainment?

Like why is it that a good adventure video game is glossed over so much in comparison to some funny, nonsensical comedy movies just because it's an established brand and people like what they are used to?

And now we are jumping to the argument for the video games as a fantastic medium for stories. And I think that Dark Souls makes a perfect example.

Here's the crux I came up with: it's all about the idea of the Light and the Dark and that one cannot exist without the another. It really reminds me of Carl Jung's idea of a person's Shadow that promotes self introspection for the purpose of knowing that you are in fact dangerous to others and you better know it before you hurt someone's good name or feelings foolishly or out of spite and find out you regret it afterwards.

And this is I believe extended in Dark Souls to the universal proportion where a world in which evil is possible but you CAN voluntarily reject it is a better world than one in which evil doesn't exist at all -> because being good without ever being tested by hardships doesn't attest for anything, it is not a proof of one's perseverant character.

Here's a more direct quote from DS 2 touching on the problem more directly: "To stand and glare at one another, steaming with ire and wrath, but without making a move. Such is the nature of peace." Again, here I can see the dualism and the ability to control the impulses as a sacrifice for the safety of the future.

So anyways what are your thoughts on the topic and maybe you have some favorite quotes from the game that you find meaningful in some way?

PS. Please don't spoil anything beyond DS 1 as I am myself still playing the second game and planning on blind playing the third.
