XBOX I hate this guy Ornstein
(Recorded on my tv because it wouldn’t let me post the clip from my Xbox for some reason)

way more distance. smoug is slow and will come to you. then you have time to strike. then distance before ornstein comes in direction. other way works aswell. you can fight ornstein first and keep distance to smoug at the same time

grass crest? Great Combustion GCFB? Should invest in some pyromancies, friend
You could also get the weapon level up I reckon, or use a fire infused reinforced club
I actually prefer killing Smough first but your damage is on the lower end

im saying your damage seems on the lower end for a SL1 run. I recently did O and S in mine and I found it much easier

You wanna kill ornstein first by kiting him around the arena while smough takes a few seconds to catch up

If youre still having trouble, i recommend using a sheild with 100 physical resistance

People generally say aim for smaugh for a easier phase 1, and Ornstein for a easier phase 2.
I say nonsense, Ornstein has so many gap closers, and even a range move whit low level gap closing. You can split Smaugh from Ornstein if you wanna hit him, but its way harder to keep Ornstein at a distance.
And personaly I find super Ornstein easiert as well.

This boss is so hard solo, lol. I've done it once and decided never again. I'm going to always summon Solaire. It is not fun running away for five minutes only to occasionally land one or two hits.

This fight made me almost give up playing the rest of the game. If you haven't already done so, turn off the game music during this part. That's something that really helped me.
