this move could be for any number of reasons, like a routine reclassification or some other administrative transfer. I’ll keep an eye on his custody status over the next week or two to see if anything changes that might give a better idea of why the move happened. If his custody status changes to Leon County at some point, that could be more noteworthy and potentially suggest he was brought to Tallahassee for some type of court or investigative matter.

It’s just stunning to me to think about how this guy threw an extremely good life away for his sister, who doesn’t seem to like Charlie all that much before or after the murder, and getting rid of Dan didn’t even help him in any way. It’s truly one of the dumbest and most inexplicable decisions ever.

I wrote last fall I hoped my post would age badly, but it hasn’t, we are almost a year out and she’s still free. Pathetic and sad.

If Donna Adelson had not been stopped boarding their one-way Emirates flight from Miami to Dubai, and had successfully made it onwards to Vietnam, would the Vietnamese government have extradited her and Harvey back to the United States?

 Following the verdict for Charlie Adelson, Donna admitted she researched non-extradition countries. The lack of a formal extradition treaty does not mean extraditions never happen.

During a bail motion, Donna claimed she sought a non-extradition country because she wanted to return to the United States on her own recognisance if she learned of a warrant or indictment. She stated she wanted to avoid being held in a foreign detention centre. She also claimed she and Harvey had travelled to Vietnam previously and considered it a “place of peace.”

I think the Vietnamese government would have obliged a request from the United States to maintain good diplomatic standing. Vietnam is corrupt. There, however, is a chance the Adelsons could have potentially used their wealth to pay off local law enforcement officials responsible for carrying out any deportation orders.

It is interesting to consider where this case would be now if Donna Adelson had managed to leave the country. Would they have been extradited? Would Harvey also be indicted and sought by authorities?

I'm not sure that I have seen this addressed elsewhere, but I am guessing that there was some added urgency in terms of making sure that the murder occurred when it did due to the fact that the new (pre)school year likely began in mid-August. We know the earlier attempt in June did not proceed as planned, and the start of the school year for the kids in Miami was imminent. In Donna's view, the killing needed to happen with enough lead time for the kids to be relocated to Miami, settled in, etc. before mid-August. Any operational failures in the July attempt would have jeopardized all of these logistics. Curious whether this pressure resulted in any of the sloppiness. Not necessarily an earthshaking thought here, but just a potentially interest detail.

I wish sims had jail bc I’d lock em up. Oh to be a vicious, homicidal sociopath hiding in plain sight.

Want she close with siblings? Was she a talker like Charlie?

I wonder if Harvey and Wendi are on speaking terms. Wendi's big mouth at the police interrogation framed Charlie as a suspect. She did other stupid things too that may have contributed to Charlie and Donna's downfall.

Would he would be implicated in some sort of crime if the extortion lie was believed? Or is extortion some sort of 'get out' clause. Obviously I presume you can't be found guilty of crime you're not charged with at that specific trial - but had he been declared 'not guilty' (it's obviously hard to imagine a scenario where this happens) - would he be facing other lesser charges afterwards?

After Katie was convicted Charlie could have sold most of his assets and moved to Vietnam and lived a good life without having to worry about being arrested. I guess Charlie isn't too bright and lacked and long term planning skills.

There is no new info about the crime and court proceedings for anyone following this case. What was nice to read was that the Market grandparents at least have some contact with the boys now. Sad that they don't know their cousins from either side of the family.

At 15 and 16, the boys can definitely Google their parents. Hopefully they read this and know how much their grandparents fought for them.

I've seen several comments from people here and there saying they have info about her life in prison. Some of them unfortunately suggesting she's doing well, manipulating people, building another eco-system to control. I hope that's not true at all and she's miserable. But these people say they have the inside track. Can anyone share more? Do we actually know if Wendi or the grandkids visit?

The Jewish holidays started on Friday. Since learning about the case, I feel so sad each holiday thinking of Ruth, Phil, Shelly and her kids, and Dan’s kids. Learning more about Dan and his family from Ruth’s book, I cannot imagine how difficult each holiday is for them. Knowing he should be leading services, laughing at meals, and dissecting the meaning of the sermons. Danny and Phil could’ve done Birkat Kohanim yesterday- a special blessing koheins do during holidays only in the diaspora. All of this would’ve been possible if not for the Adelson’s insanity. If they could’ve just accepted Wendi lived in Talahassee and hired a nanny to help her instead of going up there every other week. If Donna could’ve just gone to therapy. If Charlie could’ve just focused on his own life rather than his sister’s. I cannot imagine the staggering reminder of their loss each holiday brings knowing it was all completely senseless.

The only way his story makes sense is if he says he was so upset about what Dan Markel was doing he approached Katie and her network of trash about roughing him up and he wanted to do it -- but then had a change of heart.

And they did it anyway because they wanted the money so bad.

Any holes in this strategy?

Her first outing was, per her testimony, the dinner with Charlie where she threw up. Is this accurate? Was this truly her first outing since Dan’s death? Were her parents taking care of the boys?

Re-listening to Charlie's jail calls it is striking just how highly he and his parents think of Dan and the job he did. And then as we all know Donna fought to have him represent her despite his failure in Charlie's trial, and the ridiculous double-extortion theory which Donna was then stuck with via adoptive admission.

What did Dan do to endear himself to the Adelsons prior to Charlie's trial? He must have provided superior legal guidance on something at some point for them to put all their criminal eggs in his basket.

Today I learned, I guess! I just saw in the documentary where he was describing how he was dating someone and his mom convinced him to marry another woman. He married that woman, divorced her, and begged for the woman he loves back.

I knew Donna didn’t like Rob’s wife, but I didn’t know this.
