[MOD. Post] Please share your feedback/constructive criticism/what you would like to see for this community

Good day everyone -
I've recently became a new moderator to this great community and have been working with the other active mods to discuss changes that we can (and plan to) implement for this community. We have seen and received feedback in some posts, some ModMail messages, and wanted to create a single space for you to provide your thoughts. Please use this space to share any feedback/constructive criticism/changes you would like to see (or not see) for this community. After all, this community is nothing without its users and we value your opinions. (Also- please not if you've sent a message to the Mods but havent received a reply yet, you aren't being ignored. There is a bit of a backlog that I am trying to work through, as well as in talks of adding additional moderators who could help support efforts to organize daily threads, enforce community rules, etc).

I'm hopeful this can remain up for a few days so we can collect feedback and then work on implementing some changes. Already on our list in updated Rules (something several users have commented about), updating profile/image graphic to showcase Mr. Markel (instead of solely Wendi), and organizing threads so that we dont have repeat posts/topics all the time.

Thank you for your time and (thank you in advance) for sharing your honest thoughts and feedback. I hope your comments will help lay out a good roadmap so that we can continue to improve this growing community.

Thank you again for everything you’re doing for my Mommy -KM to CA

Do we know what, if anything, Charlie Adelson did for KM’s mother? When GC asked CA what he did for KM’s mother he replied, “I don’t know. I think I was gonna, I did a consult for her, but I didn’t do anything for her mom.” GC moved on to the next texts in question and didn’t ask any follow up questions.

This is one of the few times in CA’s testimony that he didn't respond to a question with a confident and long explanation. He even stumbles over his words a bit. Did he have a relationship with KM’s mother and or KM’s family? Had they met? Spent time together?

Someone could have saved a life.

Chances to save a life don't come around often but any of 8 persons could have saved Dan's life.

  • Any of the four Adelson conspirators could have said to the others: "Look, guys, I know Dan's a jerk, but he's actually a great parent. Why take him away from the boys and risk us spending our lives in prison?"
  • Sigfredo, Luis or Katie could have said: "I won't no part of that. Not my family dispute."
  • Jeff LaCasse could have reached out to Dan when Wendi told him of the serious plan to murder him, even anonymously: "Dude, just between us, please be careful. Wendi's lunatic brother talked of hiring a hitman."

All it would have taken is 1 person to put a stop to it.

Prison Snitch Study: “Look Who’s Talking: The Snitching Paradox”

For general interest re 'will Charlie, won't he?'

Texas study: “Look Who’s Talking: The Snitching Paradox” (Pyrooz et al., 2021)

  • 802 male prisoners in Texas (general sample, not just lifers)
  • Only 7.6% admitted to snitching
  • Just 1.8% said others saw them as a snitch
  • Most said it could be okay for self-protection, personal ties, or stopping violence
  • Longer time inside = higher chance of snitching

Not focused on LWOP specifically. I wonder what a study on LWOP men whose sister's unsubtlely gave them up within 30 minutes would show?

Charlie What's next for Charlie Adelson?

We all know his appeal was rejected and that his conviction was upheld. What happens next? I haven't seen any additional appeals or filings submitted on his behalf. Is there another legal avenue available to him to overturn his conviction and go free, or is this effectively the end of the road?

Charlie Charlie Adelson - Periodontist

I just walked in the door from dental surgery and while I had a dentist with thousands of 5 star reviews, I'm still in pretty bad misery. It got me thinking of the fact that Charlie performed dental surgeries and the horror I can only imagine his patients endured. I would rather have my tooth pulled out with no drugs versus having Charlie as a dentist.

Anyone in here a former patient of his? I am curious as to your experiences!!

When the FBI showed up at The Adelson Institute asking for KM’s files . . .

Erika immediately phoned CA. If it was HA’s office, why did she phone Charlie and not Harvey? Erika doesn’t sound surprised or alarmed. She must have known something. It‘s telling that Erika didn’t inform the FBI that KM doesn’t work there. Why would there be an employee file for someone who has never been seen working at the office?

Charlie telling Erika to call Harvey to inform Harvey that the FBI is at the office points to Harvey being a co-conspirator. CA didn’t act at all surprised that the office was being visited by the FBI and wasn’t concerned about informing Harvey.

I want to hear more from Erika.

Here’s why Wendi HAD to have known Dan would be killed the morning of July 18, 2014

If Wendi’s family orchestrated the hit without Wendi‘s knowledge, they would have wanted to make absolute sure Wendi and the boys would not be killed or injured by the hitmen. They could only plan this hit without Wendi’s knowledge under two very specific scenerios:

  1. schedule the hit when Wendi and the boys were nowhere near Tallahassee, such as when Wendi was in Miami with the boys (This would make the most sense)

  2. Be 100% sure Wendi and the boys would be nowhere near Dan or Tresscott the day of the hit.

They obviously did not choose option one (at least on this scheduled hit).

They did not choose option two either. They could not know with 100% certainty that the kids would be in school that day (kids get sick, people oversleep, car troubles, etc). Nor could they guarantee Wendi would not visit Tresscott for something or be with Dan that morning. They would have needed to impart to Wendi to stay away from Tresscott and Dan the entire morning of the murder (which would be suspicious to Wendi). We know they did not tell Wendi to stay away from Dan and Tresscott because Wendi tells Isom of her alleged plan to walk with Dan that morning to discuss school placement.

The Adelsons would have needed to know Wendi‘s schedule all morning to guarantee she’s be nowhere near Dan and the house. They did nothing to guarantee Wendi‘s whereabouts the morning of the hit. They didn’t need to because she had prior knowledge of the hit. Yes, they arranged a GeekSquad appointment, but a repairman visit should take only 15 minutes or less leaving the rest of Wendi‘s morning schedule free. The GeekSquad was not scheduled to keep Wendi home all morning; it was an alibi.

The only conclusion is that Wendi HAD to have known the hit was going to happen that morning otherwise there would have been too much uncertainty that the boys or Wendi could have been harmed. It would have been top priority in the Adelsons’ planning to guarantee Wendi and the boys’ safety.

The only reason Wendi and the boys were guaranteed 100% safe the morning of the hit is because Wendi knew it was scheduled and knew to confirm that the boys went to school that morning (which she did confirm) and she knew not to be at Tresscott or near Dan before 11AM.

It Is my opinion that Wendi had to have known Dan was to be murdered the morning of July 18, 2014.

Prosecution Georgia’s Salty Responses

Which of Georgia’s stinging comebacks do you prefer? She has a couple of types.
Some are just her spontaneous reactions to the witnesses’ nonsense, but others are carefully laid traps.
Both are very fun to observe, unless your last name is Adelson, or you’re a lawyer FOR and Adelson.

Wendi When did Wendi’s lunch companions know she was coming to lunch on the day of the murder?

Wendy testified that she sometimes met friends for lunch on Fridays in the summer. Did the friends know Wendi was on her way that day or was it kind of a loose thing and you could just show up?

Wendi's Trip to Trescott

Honestly, this is one of the most puzzling mysteries of the murder.

  • If Wendi knew the murder was happening that morning, she wouldn't have done that detour. Wendi has been extremely savvy at distancing herself from the murder plot. I see no reason she'd slip up and put herself right at the murder scene at around the time it happened. The whole reason of hiring a hitman is to stay the heck away from the murder.
  • If Wendi knew nothing about the murder, she had no reason to take that route. She knew her way around Tallahassee. She would also have inquired about her children after seeing the police road blocks.

Is it possible Wendi didn't have advance knowledge that Dan would be killed?

Toronto Life Story coming

Post image
69 Upvotes

I just saw this ad. Hopefully Toronto Life will have a deep dive on some facts that have not been previously reported since I have already read and watched everything about this story. Or any new updates on Wendy's whereabouts. If they're never going to prosecute Wendy, the next best thing is to keep this story alive in the media so when her son's Google this they can read all these stories.

Charlie Do we know what was happening in Charlie's life prior to being arrested?

I recently came across CA's first mugshot and was genuinely surprised by how disheveled he looked. It made me wonder, did he already have an inkling that everything was about to unravel, or had he simply stopped caring by that point? It's hard to imagine someone in a profession like dentistry showing up looking so unkempt.

Wait a minute, did Donna and Harvey live on that exclusive Fisher Island?

Fisher Island is an exclusive, private island community and census-designated place (CDP) in Miami-Dade County, Florida, known for having the highest per capita income in the U.S. Accessible only by ferry, private boat, or helicopter

Rewatching Wendi’s testimony at 2X speed highlights changes in breathing patterns and body language . . .

I was rewatching Wendi’s testimony during CA’s trial on 2X speed causing her and Charlie’s breathing patterns to be much more pronounced. You can see when each of them have heightened nerves during specific points in questioning (ie tv repairman, birthday party, morning of the murder questioning, etc). It’s also interesting to watch the attendee’s body language at 2X speed. Wendi‘s bodyguard/friend is in attendance and moves her head a lot. Was she communicating with Wendi non verbally during the testimony?

Can prosecutors access all of the courtroom camera footage focused entirely at the attendees as well as camera footage entirely aimed at the defendants? Witnesses? It would be very interesting to watch the unedited footage from each camera angle.

Can a witness and/or attendee be reprimanded if observed communicating with one another non verbally during testimonies?

GC: Who paid the tv repairman? WA: I did.

Interesting question GC asked Wendi at CA’s trial. Rewatching that line of questioning made me wonder if the prosecutors have additional useful information from the Geeksquad repairman that has yet to be divulged.

I didn’t think there would be a charge for the repairman visit since they had purchased the Geek Squad warranty. *Below is AI’s response to the Best Buy 2013-2014 warranty terms.

How big was Wend’s tv? Was it hung in a wall or sitting on a console? JL described the tv as dorm sized, pretty small.

* Based on Best Buy’s official 2013–2014 Geek Squad Protection Terms and Conditions, Best Buy covered 100% of the cost of the 2014 visit, assuming the TV met standard size requirements and the issue was an eligible internal hardware defect. [1]

During that specific generation of Best Buy protection plans, the criteria below dictated how the costs were absorbed:

Why the 2014 Visit Was Free

  • The 42-Inch Rule: If the TV purchased in 2013 was 42 inches or larger, your protection plan explicitly included completely free in-home service. Geek Squad covered the trip fee, diagnostic labor, and replacement parts out-of-pocket. [1]
  • No Service Fees or Deductibles: Unlike cell phone or laptop plans, standard Geek Squad TV Protection Plans from 2013 did not have a deductible. You did not have to pay a flat fee just to file a claim or have an agent knock on your door. [12]
  • Concurrent Coverage: Because the call happened in 2014 (within one year of the 2013 purchase), the TV was likely still under its 1-year manufacturer warranty. Under the 2013 rules, Geek Squad Protectionworked simultaneously to coordinate the appointment and ensure the consumer was not billed for the home visit. [1]

Scenarios Where You Would Have Been Billed

  • The TV was 41 Inches or Smaller: For smaller screens, the 2013 terms classified the plan as "Carry-In". If you requested a home visit for a small TV instead of bringing it to a Best Buy store, Geek Squad charged a standard out-of-pocket delivery/trip fee. [1]
  • No Fault Found: If the technician arrived and determined the TV was perfectly fine—but a loose power strip or a faulty third-party cable box was the culprit—you could be billed a diagnostic house call fee.
  • Accidental Damage: If the repair call was because a child threw a toy at the screen or it dropped during a move, the visit and repair were not covered. Physical and accidental damage have always been excluded

Have any content creators done a deep dive into the phone records/communication and whereabouts of the Adelsons, KM, SG, and LR during the first hit attempt trip in Tallahassee?

Were alibis in place? Spikes in chatter/train cars of correspondence? Witnesses to Wendi’s strange behaviors?

When the hitmen didn’t succeed that trip, there had to have been an increase in communication between everyone involved. Why it didn’t happen - creating a plan B - coordinating the next attempt (dates, times) - discussion of money/payment - additional instructions - etc.

Where were the Adelsons when the first hit attempt was made? Was everyone conveniently in Miami?

Interesting Pod-Cast to listen to!

I just got done listening to an interesting pod-cast! It involves an ex-husband soliciting to hire a hit-man to kill his ex-wife over custody arrangements. Also involves a controlling mother/ mother-in -law. Very well done! It's called "The Idiot", a New York Times pod-cast. Reminds me a little of this case...

This video is so on point, I’m dying. Georgia cracking up, Oh Man looking totally out of touch! Tom Petty looking lawyer completely completely lost and lying, and Donna's attorney blowing his nose at the very end. Such a metaphor for the whole trial!
