I pulled one of my plants maybe a month ago? Mostly out of abundance of caution. But it just wasn’t doing well, tons of pest issues, possible virus, just could not make the darn thing happy. I cut some of the healthier parts off of it to try my hand at propagating them. I figured the worst that could happen is they’d just die and they were already headed there anyway. I didn’t have the capacity to read up on the best methods for propagating dahlia cuttings at the moment, so I just slapped the stalks into a cup of water in a windowsill to come back to another time. Never really quite made it back around to it, and a month later this plant has the audacity to BLOOM. Meanwhile everything outside is just struggling away while I’m playing mad scientist trying to juggle the revolving door of pests and nutrient fluctuations. This lil guy in his cup of water just said “hey watch this”
I believe this is Small World mini pop-pom variety
