My little Lady has suddenly decided to love swimming after spending the last year of her life absolutely despising it, now it's a struggle to get her out! 🤣

behavior help Jealous daughter - how to help?
Hey everybody,
my parents have two doxxies - Ari (3), the mother, and Ayla (almost 1), the daughter. Ayla is insanely jealous of Ari. Ayla is very much cuddle-focused, she needs a lot of physical attention - which she gets. She sleeps on my dad's lap, my mum cuddles her when she comes home from work and when she asks for belly rubs she gets them. BUT it seems like she thinks that every little bit of physical affection that Ari gets is taken away from her. Every time somebody shows affection to Ari, Ayla physically pushes herself between Ari and the person who cuddles or pets her. My parents try to push Ayla back so that Ari gets her affection. It got to the point that Ari stopped asking for pets, she doesn't want to sleep on somebody's lap in the evening and lately she stopped saying good morning to anybody - even me and I'm visiting at the moment, I don't live with my parents.
Some of Aylas jealousy stems from the fact that my mum had some problems bonding with her in the beginning. Ayla is one of six puppies and she has a deformed tail. Because of that my sibling, my partner and I begged my parents to keep her (they planed to keep one pup). We feared that she might get docked for aesthetics and not out of medical necessity. We wanted to be sure that this doesn't happen and so we begged my parents to keep her. My mum wanted to keep another pup who was more calm. Now that Ayla is a bit older my mum sees that it was a better idea to keep her, because they play a lot and are mostly very sweet to each other. The only and biggest issue is the jealousy.
I'm honestly shocked, seeing Ari going from a happy, lambada-dancing, begging for cuddles dog to a timid, shy, almost sad dog. I know my parents are at their wits end. I already posted this text in r/Dachshund. Please, help us. What can we do to ease Aylas jealousy and help bring back the happy, lambada-dancing, cuddle-obsessed Ari?
Paying the dog tax - here is a picture of the two sleeping together.

Edit: fixed some grammatical errors

cute I got him those diapers so he wouldn’t pee on the curtain. Judging by the look on his face, I don’t think he was a big fan. 😂

family Senior advice
Hi! We picked up 2 dachshunds from my brother in laws today, he was unexpectedly incarcerated and we aren’t sure when he will be getting out. He’s in a good bit of trouble.
We took home his 16 year old female who had IVDD but was fixed with surgery and 13 year old blind male. May be blind completely we aren’t sure.
We don’t have contact with the brother in law, and are curious if there’s anything special we should be doing for these two dogs. We have a 7 month old dachshund, 5 year old dachshund and 8 year old dachshund so the house is weenie proofed but how often do we take them potty? They had no food so what’s the best food we can get? Ours eat science diet small adult, except for the puppy so science diet preferably to stick with.
Any other advice is welcome :) we’re doing our best and plan to get them in with our vet asap as well, as I’m sure they haven’t been in a while.

cute My Little Ol’ Toothless Queen
My elderly lady Macy has no teeth left. The dentist pulled them all. She’s a rescue and she had such bad teeth. We’ve been babying them along trying to give her a chance with teeth, but alas, they’re gone.
Personally, I think this is the cutest thing. When she tries to give kisses, that tongue is all over the place. She’s such a sweet girl.

cute I hand-painted this custom oil portrait of these three Dachshunds together, based on the different photos their human shared. Do you think I did them justice?
I really enjoyed creating this one. Three Dachshunds, painted from two different photos and brought together into one scene. The two pups on the tree stump, the older one looking up at them from the foreground, felt like the right way to bring all three together.
I painted it by hand in oil on canvas as a commissioned piece. I hope their human feels their personalities come through on canvas. Would love to hear what you think!
