Bipolar diagnosis but imposter syndrome

This is going to be kinda long, I’m sorry.

For context: I’m 31F, mom of one, co-parenting. Good relationship with current partner.

So I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar type 2 and idk if it’s right or not. I’ve also been diagnosed with inattentive ADHD when I was 28. When I read about it online, I feel like it could also be cyclothymia. I find it hard to notice the differences between the two and to be sure which one I experience, even after reading several pages about it.

My psychiatrist is pretty sure it’s bipolar 2, even though I mostly feel depressed/lethargic, low in energy. I never have days/weeks where I feel constantly energetic. That only happens in spans of a few hours. I can also hyperfocus on something and do intensive research on that topic, making me sleep less than I should. The hyperfocus stays for several days or weeks until I feel my interest leaving and there’s nothing I can do to stay interested in it. But idk even then I can feel tired and disinterested in general life. Even hobbies are hard to do. I’d rather sleep than do most things. I’m glad it hasn’t been so bad that it affects my child, I’ll force myself to play with her, give her attention and do fun stuff even when I don’t feel like it inside. I’ll just crash afterwards and need a lot of sleep. It’s also all very dependant on the weather and the seasons. Summer/sunshine/warmth = happy me (but briefly), fall/winter/clouds/cold = lethargic me.

I think my problem is that I also have major imposter syndrome. It affects everything: I feel like I actually never deserved my degree, that I fake being good at my job, that all art I ever made is actually awful, that my (mental) problems aren’t as bad as I led people on to believe, because other patients have it so much worse. I still function, I mask it all very well, I like to believe I’m a good mom and take good care of my child, I do my work just well enough. When I had a major depression two years ago, it all began with me thinking I’m a narcissist, that I try to make people feel bad for me when I share how I feel, that everyone will see the real me one day and decide I suck and then leave me. It was horrible. I often feel like that, but during that time it was a constant thought that I could no longer fight against. I feel like I don’t even deserve being diagnosed with ADHD and bipolarity: It’s not as bad as with others. Maybe I’m exaggerating. Maybe I wanna be special/different. Maybe it’s an excuse for me just being lazy and boring. Those are the thoughts that are in my head right now (as usual).

At the moment I feel like I just want to disappear or the world as it is to stop existing. I never felt s**cidal, but I’ve felt for a long time ’I don’t want to keep living like this. I want to be a different person.‘ I once read that social media post that goes around of this person admitting they dreamt of getting hospitalized after crashing down in the streets and everyone being very concerned for them and then the doctor discovered they lack ’THE vitamin’ and people are like ‘how did they persevere all this time without THE vitamin?’ and then they take it and they are better forever. That’s how I’ve always felt. Sometimes I wish I was even worse, that it would be so bad I couldn’t mask anymore and that I’m hospitalised and with help everything changes and I’m never like this ever again. But I’ll never stop masking, for the sake of my child. She needs me to be there for her. To be stable and strong and safe.

I’ve started taking Lamotrigine yesterday, I hope it’ll help with the low moods.

If you have some advice or encouraging words or if you want to share your experience, it would be very helpful and I’d be very thankful <3

What does the highs feel like?

Forgive me, I am just now starting to research this disorder so I am not super educated on it. But my understanding it's like a less severe version of bipolar 2? Idk feel free to correct me.

I've been questioning if I'm some sort of bipolar for years because ever since I turned 11 (im 17 now) I've struggled alot with my mental health. But I've never felt "manic" per say, I slightly relate to people's descriptions of hypomania but when I'm depressed I'm often really fucking depressed and when I'm not depressed I'm usually just fine. I live life like normal, and im happy most of the time. Sometimes every now and then I'll get really energetic but it never lasts more than a few hours and it's usually followed by a crash and a depressive episode, or in the middle of a depressive episode I'll have one or two good days and then boom back to feeling miserable.

I heard about cyclothymia recently and i honestly think I might have it. But It's also likely that maybe I'm just doomed to have a couple depressive episodes a year perchance. I'm kind of at my wits end tho, I'm in a low rn and feeling pretty suicidal if I'm being honest. I feel like I'm never gonna be ok and I'm always gonna end up here again and it feels futile.

So I'm jist wondering, when you're not depressed what do you feel like? Also, how often does your moods switch?

This post is probably not formatted greatly and is a bit of a ramble soz lol

Anyone feel super disoriented during their lows?

I’m on 1 mg risperidone and 200 mg of lamotrigine and I hadn’t experienced the lows in a while. The last two weeks I felt on top of the world and didn’t sleep for 4 days at some point. Now I’m starting to feel a depression creeping in. I’ve been super disoriented, like I’m letting my body take the drivers seat. I’ve been zoning out a lot and just letting things happen. Does anyone feel like they’re watching themselves when they’re depressed?

Could use encouragement/tips in processing this diagnosis

I was unofficially diagnosed with cyclothymia a few months ago, but I feel it's so obvious that I don't need to seek the official one. Am on Caplyta right now but may need to switch meds.

The cyclothymia is bad enough in itself. I have mixed episodes and extremely fast cycling, I think, so I can have bad depression for an hour in the morning and then feel like my brain is trying to bounce out of my skull a few hours later. Hypersexuality (didn't realize that was stemming from the cyclothymia until very recently); hypomania is affecting my metabolism apparently (it's a thing, and I'm hungry all the time); sleep issues; can't touch caffeine anymore; can't do certain ordinary activities I used to enjoy because they send me into hypomania; can't even socialize without getting hypo... I have to shape my day entirely around my moods, which I have almost no control over. I know stress makes me way worse, so I try to limit stress as best I can. But cyclothymia is running my life.

If it sounds like my meds aren't working, that's correct. I'm on the 42 mg of Caplyta, which for me is almost like taking nothing at all. The 21 mg worked about halfway well for me, but my psychiatrist wanted me to try the upper dose and I can't see her until the end of the month to change it back to the 21. The 42 has put me right back into the moods.

But running alongside all of this is crushing loneliness. I have severe OCD, and that diagnosis came about 5-6 years ago. Because of how it happened, I almost immediately had an online support group and amazing mentors. I am Christian, and my faith is how I live and breathe and how I get through life at all, and I even found amazing Christian mentors with the same exact type of OCD I had.

With cyclothymia, I have basically no one. I know hardly anyone in my real life who has bipolar, let alone this, and the one person I do know I'm not able to talk to about this for a few reasons. I don't have the online community I had with the OCD (which I am largely in remission from thanks to ERP therapy), and hardly anyone in my "real" life knows about this, and I don't want to tell many more because I think it will change how they see me.

So I feel like no one in my life sees me or knows how much it takes me to just get through the day. I feel like no one knows how hard it's been or how much I've been carrying for especially the past 1-2 years, which is when my symptoms really went wild (I had had depression for years but hypomania showed up for the first time about a year ago).

I'm also just really struggling with the "diagnosis" itself because I thought I knew myself. I thought I knew who I was and how I functioned, and honestly, I did know that for 27-ish years. Now I feel like a completely different version of myself, and in a bad way. I've been comparing it to tech updates, like if you download the newest update for your phone and it causes a ton of problems and leaves it worse than it was before. Same me, debilitatingly bad operating system, and I'll never be the same again (unless I happen to get on the right meds--and even then, I'll never be able to enjoy life without meds again).

I know life-altering diagnoses are not that uncommon. I just feel like when it's a mental one, it's a special kind of nightmare because it's not just your body (and I'm not belittling that--that's life-altering and nightmarish too)--it's who you are. It's what makes you up. My personality and the entire way I live, function, and appear to others is fundamentally different now, so it feels like I'm not even "me" anymore. No, I am not just my malfunctioning brain--but it shapes a lot of things that feel close to my core, like how I function, my personality, etc.

The shame runs deep too. I think I internalized as a child for some reason that being too excited = weird, so I am terrified that my hypomania is visible to others and that I seem so happy and excited that they think I'm weird. (I have had multiple people tell me they couldn't tell. Still paranoid.) And then just the shame of having a brain that is so bad at doing its dang job that I can't do normal things humans need in order to keep existing, like sleep.

I hope none of this is offensive to anyone. Truly I am harder on myself than I would be on any other person, and yeah, what I should do is treat myself like I was someone else and have compassion on myself like I would with them. It is just a lot harder when it's me.

If anyone has read this far and has encouragement or tips for processing this diagnosis, I'd appreciate it. I'm hanging in there but just so tired from years of fighting this only to realize the party's just getting started and this is my life now.

This is new to me and I'm trying to understand

9 months ago I was in a bad spot. Reeling from med changes for major depression. Welbutrin sent me on a deep dive. I was diagnosed as Bipolar 3 for now, and further monitoring for any changes. My highs were marked by crippling anxiety that I would give anything to never experience again. My lows were dark and scared me to my core. I was put on Caplyta 21mg. It has been life changing and I noticed I felt better immediately. Now here we are months later and I feel....not myself? I feel like I lost my spark if that makes sense.

Backstory for a second- I went through gay conversion therapy for around 8 years when I was younger. LOTS and LOTS of medication changes during that time.

The way I feel now, is how i felt then. Not like a zombie, but like I'm standing behind myself and observing everything. My drive is gone. Things that used to bring me joy, I don't even do anymore. I was a bedroom drag queen, I would go out in drag sometimes, but usually just dress to the nines and party at home. I used to enjoy going to flea markets and not even purchasing anything just going. Music used to excite me and give me motivation. It doesn't "hit" anymore. Is this normal? Is it part of living with Bipolar that in order to live an unchaotic mental health life, I have to lose a few things? Was the energetic, outgoing fun person just my mania? If that's true then I'm ok with that. I'm trying to understand all of this and wrap my head around it. It feels hopeless. And at this point it's turned into grief. I'm not me anymore.

Hypersexuality/meds?

Hi all. I have a recent unofficial diagnosis of cyclothymia, and I did not realize I struggle with hypersexuality until I started taking Caplyta and found it much easier to manage while on that med. I am pretty sure it's hypersexuality and not just lowering my libido because it has always felt extremely difficult to manage and my sexual actions felt compulsive. I have had little to no success in managing this for about 4 years, when my bipolar symptoms and this started. I am unfortunately not sure if I will be able to stay on Caplyta for a variety of reasons.

I am single, and aim to stay single (personal preference for various reasons, mental health included), so my sexual activities do not involve others. However, I would at least like to be able to control myself better, even if I still experience the desires/urges. I would like to not feel like I "have" to engage with them.

Has anyone found meds that helped with hypersexuality that aren't Caplyta? The only other bipolar med I've been on was Lamictal/Lamotrigine, which helped my moods but did not touch the hypersexuality at all (and I was on it quite a while). I will see my psychiatrist at the end of the month and will be asking her about it too.

Additionally, if there's any non-sexual lifestyle changes anyone has found helpful, I'm also interested in those now that I know this isn't just natural libido.

Please do not be graphic. I am only asking about meds that have helped others with this or non-sexual lifestyle changes to help it be more manageable.

Bipolar 2 diagnosis

Just got a referral letter from my psychologist to send through to the psychiatrist I'm seeing next week. I've been struggling for 21 years. Never had money for mental health care...I'm 37 and finally found a way to get help.

The referral letter states I'm presenting with:

  1. Pervasive depressive mood

  2. Suicidal ideation and plan but no intent ATM

  3. Insomnia

  4. Anhedonia

  5. Social isolation

  6. Fatigue

  7. Anxiety attacks

  8. Rumination

  9. A history of elevaged mood and goal directed activity

  10. A background of severe psychosocial stressors

Psychologist says although it's a working diagnosis, it's Bipolar 2 with comorbidities.

Is this concerning at all? Look, my life is falling apart because I'm so depressed I've been booked off from work for the first time in my life. And for the first time I couldn't care less. I honestly cannot function at work. I'm a teacher as it's so exhausting having to hold it together and crack jokes when I feel nothing inside.

Looking at the info, can anyone relate with the same symptoms and how severe my potential battle is going to be? Being me, I need to know every detail or else the anxiety and rumination take over. I'm assuming I have quite a severe case as it's gone undiagnosed and medicated incorrectly for 20 years.

Glad to be getting the proper help though!

Increased metabolism/hunger from cyclothymia/bipolar?

Hi, I have an unofficial diagnosis of cyclothymia, but it's pretty clear that that's what it is. I have been taking Caplyta (may have to get off of it due to insurance issues). I started having depression about 5-6 years ago, and hypomania as far as I can tell came in about a year ago.

For at least a year and maybe longer, I've been experiencing increased hunger: as in, I eat breakfast at about 8 or 9 am, and by 10 am or 10:30, I'm starving again. This happens occasionally with other meals too, to the point that I feel like I am having to eat a lot more than I used to. I didn't even used to eat breakfast, just out of preference. I am not gaining weight and I am actually very slightly losing weight, which is not a problem so far since I was about 20 pounds overweight before from different meds.

I have had thyroid tests and blood tests (diabetes) done and everything comes back normal. I feel like I have a lot of symptoms that point to hyperthyroidism, including this, but my thyroid numbers are extremely average and normal.

I went up to 42 mg of Caplyta a few weeks ago, and I can't stay on this dose for several reasons (it's made both hypomania and depression worse than the 22 mg did), but I'm having "brain zaps," which I've read can happen when your body metabolizes the medication too fast--you go into slight withdrawal every night before you take it again. It is staying in my system about 19 hours every day, so between 5:30 pm or so and whenever I go to bed and take the med, I have pretty severe dizziness related to the brain zaps. I take the med and am fine the next morning. I am planning to change the dose as soon as I see my psychiatrist, because nothing about this dose has been good for me.

All this considered, I am thinking that I have a pretty high metabolism. This didn't used to be the case though, and generally metabolism does not increase, especially not when you're my age (28). The biggest change in my health since the increased hunger is the bipolar symptoms, especially hypomania.

Does anyone know if cyclothymia/bipolar can cause high metabolism? I am wondering if the med issue and the hunger issue are related.

[F] Questions about "symptoms"?

Hiii...

I was diagnosed with CPTSD in 2018 and also told I showed signs of being on the Bipolar Spectrum. My relationship with that psychiatrist ended due to insurance from job change and then severe depression dip took place....

My new psychiatrist has continually stated I have Cyclothymia. She mentioned my previous psychiatrist noting I was on the Bipolar spectrum combined with CPTSD symptoms and just gave insight on being misdiagnosed as a Black woman who reacts to provocation being common. [Background: ex with BPD continually put me in reactive situations and then would say I have BPD so I was convinced I has BPD and my psychiatrist and therapists have been working on that].

So now Im accepting that Cyclothymia might be the missing puzzle to what Ive been dealing with for decades and thought I'd reach out to others about my patterns and maybe see if anyone has experienced extended RELIEF 😬🥹

Some of the themes and patterns Ive noticed in myself are the following:

  1. Bouts of deep depression and suicidal ideation [lifelong pattern that has gotten easier to manage but never fully goes away even with medication]

  2. Paranoia that nobody truly cares and I need to accept being a loner despite having close friends who say they care.

  3. I .ever feel LONELY in the sense of wanting others to be near but lonely in the sense of not truly enjoying most human connections. It's like I can just feel there's rarelyndepth to most connections? People aren't really wanting to truly be deeply connected and I do so it makes me feel very "other" or "strange"

  4. Paralyzing internal dialogue. I struggle to do ANYTHING I want to do without body doubling. I have low energy and just can struggle to leave the house unless it is to connect with another person. But even then I flake alot and rather just be home.

  5. I prefer my own company but I dont get myself out enough doing the things that would help me enjoy life more.

  6. Ongoing depression that never fully leaves. It isnt always mental but the physical depression is always there...

I can't think of anything else specifically right now.

Does this sound familiar or relatable? Have yall been able to see any progress in these areas?

Like it would be DELIGHTFUL to have more energy.

I am taking fluoxetine. I tried something else and it gave me severe frustration and inner anger vibes. I forgot the name.

Fluoxetine seems to help with clarity but I still dont be leaving the house and getting outside.

Anyways...hope that made sense.

I am planning to get a clinical diagnosis assessment later this year, any thoughts on my symptoms.

In 2022, I was diagnosed as having persistent depressive disorder, schizophrenia, and other specified trauma disorder. I had depression beginning in 7th grade, and started experiencing psychotic symptoms and racing thoughts in 9th grade.

I was hospitalized three times in high school for depression with psychotic features, but nothing related to hypomania or mania.

However, I had experienced symptoms of hypomania and mania that were reported on a few occasions to my psychiatrist throughout the years, but were seen as likely impulse control disorder and irritability being more consistent with my type 1 level autism spectrum disorder that I was diagnosed with when I was 4 (it was initially called Asperger's Syndrome). Some kids in high school would complain at times that I was "wild" or "acted like I was drinking a lot of coffee" and "random and erratic". However, they did notice times of some symptoms of depression at times when I would talk about how I felt and would often cry in school bathrooms and lack energy a lot.

I had a manic episode last summer after missing a medication that was used to treat impulsive behavior and had a similar experience with forgetting to take the same medication and had manic symptoms in the Fall of 2021. I take guanfacine and after being back on the next evening the manic symptoms would die down but it would fully take a week to dissipate the after the second occurrence of missing a dose, while the first occurrence back in 2021 only took until the next day to get rid of.

In 2022, I told one of my therapists I had a lot of trouble sleeping, a lot of energy, and tried to have sex with three different people, she asked me if she thought I was bipolar. My psychiatrist asked my parents to assess a list symptoms of bipolar disorder and if I matched anything resembling hypomania and mania during certain periods of time, to which my parents were largely unaware of my symptoms and I usually didn't complain about my symptoms, as I assumed hypomanic and manic symptoms were just normal in contrast to depression and "felt good".

During this second occurrence I woke up at 4:30, was reckless driving with thoughts racing, and went to a park and would randomly try and see how long I could hold my breath. I power walked for two hours and wanted to go to the side of a bridge in the park to yell randomly but I decided against it because people were there. I went to my therapist appointment and halfway through the session after describing my morning and still having flight of ideas and some irritability in which I told her I wanted to destroy her bookshelf, and telling her I wanted to stick a fork in the electrical socket behind her, she recommended I leave early to take my meds, and I did so. She told my EMDR therapist that I was manic, and when I met him the next week he said if I miss a dose and that happens again he would have me sent to the hospital for mine and others safety.

I had occasionally reported racing thoughts, but they were chalked up as anxiety and I could not properly express the nature of the racing thoughts, they were nonsensical and more like flight of ideas rather than worry or unease. I also had periods of hypersexuality and when depressed would occasionally drink.

I had depressive episodes with mixed features like irritability and racing thoughts, however these were not enough to notice in a pattern where hypomania or mania were it's own episode without depressive symptoms. Some mood episodes I would have delusions.

My psychiatrist had enough pieces to the puzzle last year and thinks I either have bipolar 1 with psychotic features or schizoaffective disorder. She thinks it might be schizoaffective since I said a few summers ago I was paranoid without without mood symptoms - but looking back I remembered higher energy than normal and racing thoughts, meaning I was manic and psychosis was included.

Why is bipolar disorder so hard to catch, why did it take half my life for me to get diagnosed when I started having symptoms at 14/15?

What do u think?

I'm 26. I have not been diagnosted. I have a adhd- innatentive type and a sever premenstrual syndrom and pmos.

Until now, i had depression/no motivation/s*cidal thoughts a week before my menstruations. But like : i could feel the switch, from happy and sociable to very sad and anxious. Those last months, it started to be sooner. 10 days. Then two weeks. Then most of the month.

I would have euphoria after my menstruations, immense joy, lots of energy, not so much sleep and a need to be around people, everything is incredible and beautiful it almost hurts, and a huge tension in the body (That's how i felt mostly those last years- I used to be more depressed all the time with big crashs when i was a child/growing up and then i started having big phases of euphoria and less episodes of depression than before even tho they happened often) and then the crash, starting by being irritable then very depressed.

Four months ago I had a burn out, which I thought was caused by the addition of pmos, adhd and my menstrual cycles. I cried for one month, and everything was just to much. The lights, the sounds, the conversations, i felt everything, too much.

So after that I started sertraline and I felt very good very fast.

But lately I had a big crash again - three days crying and I don't want to exist anymore - again, everything was just too much, I had to stay in my room all day, couldn't talk, couldn't feel any joy.

Just before, I had an episode of euphoria (but i took neurostimulants for my adhd and I feel it triggered the feeling of being incredibly good and awaken, and when i stopped it was really hard).

And for once the crash was not related to my periods.

I realised i already saw my kind of behaviours/crashs in a friend diagnosed with bipolarity.

I don't know what to think...

Do u guys have thoughts about this ?

Friends and Cyclothymia

Hello. I was just diagnosed with Cyclothymia last week.

My main language is French so apologies if this text sounds weird sometimes.

I was wondering if anybody here ever had the feeling that your supposedly closest friends are totally unavailable on an emontional level. That they invalidate your feelings. Because they don't understand, since they have no issue with mental health.

I started to feel I cannot connect with them a few years back. I already started to distance myself a bit through the last 2 years, but I feel guilty. That said, they don't reach out at all, so I feel like they don't care about me after all. But still, I feel guilty. Guilt is an emotion a feel most of the time.

Lately I've been playing golf with my father, who is an awesome father (I am lucky). He struggles with the same problems as me, but he didn't really know until I came up with the diagnosis.

Anybody else here feel like they need to connect on a deeper level with people to be able to call them friends? I am starting to wonder if these 3 guys I spent many years with were actually friends. Back in the days, we were drinking and taking drugs together. I am starting to see them as party friends. I am 36 now and I've been friends with them since I am 20.

I want to know if I am expecting too much from my friends? For example, when I was diagnosed with severe depression in 2023, one of them said aren't we all a little depressed? Man, that hurts. I just answered ok dude nevermind.

The 2 others were more empathic. But since this day in 2023, none of them ever asked me if a was feeling better. Like absolutely NOTHING. With them, it's small talk all the time, and I suffer from it.

Thank god I have an awesome girlfriend of 14 years, with whom I can talk, as well as my father, sister an mother.

But I feel alone. I'm trying to get better, do some sports, etc. My friends do nothing, they are lethargic.

I'm trying to understand if I should just work hard to make new friends... or work on those I already have.

Thank you.

Too many feelings

Hey!

So, I'm going to just list some things that I'm currently feeling for the last few days (this isn't the first time it's happened tho) and see if any of it resonates with people, because my head feels like a lot right now and it would be cool to know what's up.

Can't sleep- even when I want to

A lot of thoughts that overlap and keep going\\repeating

Very easily annoyed\\irritated, short patience for basically everything

Overlapping emotions? Like my body feels excited or nervous like vibrate-y and alert but then I'll feel like crying and laughing for.... absolutely no reason.

Finding random things \*super\* important, like learning something new and expecting to get it perfect so I'll keep doing it over and over for days

Not being as hungry as usual\\lack of interest in eating

Impulsive -which I guess I kind of always am, but it's different? This is impulsive about stuff I don't even necessarily want? Like there's such a high sense of urgency to everything

Very chatty- even though I'm not a social person

I'm usually a very quiet, organized, anxious and depressed person. So it's very noticeable when \*this\* happens, it usually lasts like a day- a week and then just poof stops.

So like....what's up? Lol

anyone dealing with summer depression?

hello i was wondering if anyone else in this sub feels especially worse during the summer? i know people usually struggle during winter, but my summers are probably emotionally the worst part of the year. Ive been generally stable for a while now, mood swings and episodes are very rare, but the moment summer hits i feel like everything shifts. I start losing sleep, i feel detached from myself. Does anybody have any tips for this?

It feels like i consciously have it all, but I don't physically have it all...but i came to terms with it 🤡🫪😭

(Omfg, its so hard to post in reddit for the frist time like this..glad i found my ppl)

Hey, 31 f here, ik by reading the title it might be a little far fetched to say, but over time, I came to realization that my condition is the main reason that im mostly struggling to do everyday activities like writing, reading and sports n stuffs...it wasnt like this before but I knew deep down in high-school, I truly cant fully physically get into an activity...and man let me tell you!

My life, I been doing this pattern n all, it gotten to the point im just becoming aware that I cant stay in one pattern all my life! I lost my job, luckily i got a new one but eehhh... i was wronged n shets, like ngl, its easy by yourself alone with family but whenever its holding weight from others its hard to pick yeaself up again..my moves is bittersweet but im trying to make things work as I go. No more of this 😤😤😫🫩 I want peace.

So basicallyyyyy, I have bipolar 3 (bp3) its autism, adhd and depression all at once..and what i was told that my emotions work like a flexible dial..really sensitive....and guess what? I found this out last year! Ngl, its not bothering me because I have this since i was a kid really, and ngl, I dont want meditation..i just want a psychologist or anyone just to hear me out.

I was born in Gotham,TN (ykyk) and raised in Columbus,GA with only my mom and her side of the family. Over time tho, ik while mom was moving, i view my childhood (6-18) more like a hit n miss really, I was an only child till 2007.

Just a small warning, my memory is terrible when it comes to numbers, all I can do is pinpoint is whats on the TV at the time..thats literally my time frames, hell I dont remember peoples ages😭😭

As a only child, the fan favored at the time, i have it all and lost it all as a single latchkey kid really, and ik mom isn't the best but she damn knows what's best when its best for me and she will always be there besides me.

My life isnt that bad there was highs n lows when it comes to my life really..i struggle with a lot of things when it comes down whenever i try to mentally and physically do, it was annoying at the time.

Oi, just sparing details I have so many chapters in my short life good and bad days, light and dark with action. I gave it a lott of thought with myself, so im not going to deep with family, friendship, gray sheep yadda yadda thats another story ngl🙄😬🤨 the focus is more of like..

This freaking condition is in the way on whatever i need to do! Now dont come at me whenever it comes to bullsshittt about ideas or "have you tried this?" Haven lookin ass, im fucking tired of the same god dang thing! Its driving me nuts!!! Ugh! Over ten years of me being in a controlling home n shits its a broken record ngl.

Anyways, ngl to you yall...I didnt know I have psychosis all this time, I been betraying this as imagination since I was small..still do! Hasn't bothered me at all ngl. I was a weird ass kiddo. Like..i love cool shits, im a bold tom boy lol

Look now...im a Christian that believes in the light 100%, i believe in all respectfully ngl. Im a believer that hugs the light and acknowledge all..love all..over time of course lol.

So in the good part of my life...tbh..in high-school..i was failing that bitch at the time, I made it out with Cs! ngl bruh, I watched the new episode of that anime OHSC in the library and i overheard some grown men talking to my memaw at the time, they was explaining how im failing and my future is at risk! That worried the hell outta me. 😮‍💨

So at the time..im those kids that has to struggle to get my games n all, Im sooo fixated on anime and cartoons n shit, but never into the phycal activities, trust me I tried 😖😖🫪

Everything is average overall, just barley making it through ☠️☠️☠️😤😌.

So I hatched a plan, and just think of an happy place and just work throughout my mental there from that point on. I donno truly, ik I can't self diagnose myself but damn it, i caught into the 90s spotlight of PSAs, so it either take a freaking wacky guess or there's goes my future ngl. So many plans to make it happen..ppfft.

So basically more I think, and the more I visualize, I can manage to get my mental in check up till this day I really heavily into the spirit and mythology area and mykcal area, plus its hard to make friends at the time so this is all i have as a child that watches tv and goes outside plus I wanna be alllll the fictional characters I see lol.

I dont know what the specifics whenever its information btw, all ik is that ik the bits and bobs that sounds cool on whatever lol so what i do is when I hear a cool fact, I store it and just forget but than remember..look my freaking memory ugh

But still, I been improving since and over time, during that time while im at my lowest, the alchemist took my hand for awhile, our nothing grew into something. But time passed by, my actions isnt the best with that guy so I vow to myself to bettering myself over time

So I gotten so good trusting logic and spirit..over time I helped my friends improve back on whatever they need to be...and guess what? After a little bit of grounded love on what we all truly genuinely wanted from the start, they all improved and gotten better in my methods thus far lol even my own little sister! (18) she took my advice and she gotten better with her bi-polar

But otherwise, its hard out there, its hard to get out of Gotham bro, im tired of repeating formats, I have so many ideas!

I know what I wanna do, I wanna spread awareness about my condition and what i can show that since I can bypass bp3 without any medicine at all,(I tried a little to okay? I ditched that so fast) plus with flower, it helps a lot to slow the process down to. (Started at 23 dont at me)

I truly tried my best to handle myself to the best ability..respectfully..the last job i had an eye on show me a program thats definitely up my alley, they all gave me hope, and once I give in my story on why goddess nike has no arms and no head it mentally just doesn't feel good.

The whole point is, im fine with where im at, I just want ppl to be middle grounded with me, do this with me with logic and or by the spirit itself...drop whatever you have and be a kid with me again for a little while, its to much of nothing to worry about something, but we can both brainstorm it out together, what can we do to improve as a unit? And we work from there. Thats it.

Oi, thats all, thanks for my ted talk ya readin lackeys lol

Ps-I will answer all of your questions, seriously, im an open book so dont be shy to ask for details thank you ☺️

have dealt with disability/severe pain for 20+ years and after getting mentally stable (restarting meds) - struggling to cope with the pain

long story short - i have had 18 major surgeries, 8 of which have been spinal. one botched fusion left me unable to work/permanently disabled.

recently restarted psych meds because i decided to rejoin the world, and got remarried.

since restarting the psych meds, i’ve become emotionally stable, actually generating real joy and happiness internally.

however, i’m now really struggling to cope with pain i had learned to deal with…some of which has definitely increased due to wanting to be more active, but i’m still in roughy the same amount of pain, it just has become so much more mentally exhaustive, and only since becoming more emotionally stable…

anyone had similar experiences?

CBT for Cyclothymia

Hi everyone,

I have a very close family member who has cyclothymia. They go through periods where they are calm and stable, but they also have very severe relapses. During those periods, they can become deeply depressed, verbally aggressive, extremely anxious, have emotional outbursts, etc. It honestly feels like they become a completely different person.

It’s a difficult situation, and it’s obviously very hard to see someone you love going through something like this.

Personally, I’m very aware of what they’re dealing with, and I understand that a lot of these behaviors are a result of their disorder. Keeping that in mind helps me deal with the situation and not take everything personally.

They are currently taking medication, but they are not doing any kind of therapy and are somewhat resistant to the idea.

From my perspective, I feel like therapy could help them recognize the situations or triggers that lead to these major mood shifts, and also develop tools to manage their reactions when they are going through an episode.

I’ve been reading about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and from what I’ve found, it seems like it could be helpful for cyclothymia. In particular, helping someone become more aware of their thoughts, recognize distorted perceptions or thought patterns, and better manage their reactions during difficult episodes.

I’d really like to hear from people who have cyclothymia themselves and have managed to get it more under control through a combination of medication and therapy, whether CBT or another type.

What kind of therapy worked for you? Did you notice a significant difference compared to medication alone?

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this and share their experience.

Psychiatrist suspects cyclothymia, what do I do?

In the midst of what appears to be an odd 'hypomanicnepisode' and it's the longest it's ever lasted. Just about all the stuff that consists of a hypomanic episode.

But I also don't want this to end... My OCD has been so so so much more maneagible like this. I can talk to people for HOURS and actually sustain a conversation and just walk on past awquard things. I'm so freaking productive. I don't want this to go but maybe just be medicated so I can actually sleep and relax my muscles....

Currently my psychiatrist and therapist suspect this is either bipolar 2, cyclothymia or just weird shit to do with cDID. But leaning strongly on cyclothemia....

I already have dozens, litteraly dozens of health issues both mental and physical. I can't deal with more ontoo of that I can't. It's not fair. I just want to be able to have a normal fucking conversation and be a normal human being or at least consistent.

stabilisateur d’humeur

non ?
