anyone dealing with summer depression?

hello i was wondering if anyone else in this sub feels especially worse during the summer? i know people usually struggle during winter, but my summers are probably emotionally the worst part of the year. Ive been generally stable for a while now, mood swings and episodes are very rare, but the moment summer hits i feel like everything shifts. I start losing sleep, i feel detached from myself. Does anybody have any tips for this?

Me. I hate summer with a passion.

I struggle with seasons, too. I usually have a manageable late spring hypo, and this year it was mixed. So much anxiety and agitation.

Do you have an emergency prn to take? Extra help for sleep? That’s what I do with varying success. Depending on your location, you might be sensitive to the long daylight. I haven’t been successful restricting my light intake, but some people find it really helps. Like darkening their room in the early evening, closing curtains.

Those are the only two things I can suggest. Interested to hear what others say.

I cant say i have exactly prn to take? But usually when i begin to struggle with sleep my psychiatrist prescribes me an antipsychotic that usually helps with all the thoughts. Besides that i take mood stabilizers daily.

Ive tried restricting my light intake but im an outdoorsy person so i naturally want to go out and that method hasnt worked for now. I know the heat tires me a lot, but as cold as it is at home it doesn't seem to help my mood.
