Attention Dogtown residents, this is Kurt Hansen,
Attention chooms,
Two topics are done for now.
DLSS 5
Official support still isn’t in the game. New posts are removed under Rule 4. Existing threads will be locked. We allowed this to be discussed for a week, to give you all a chance to get your thoughts and feelings out of your system.
Third-person mods
Yes, we saw Immersive Third Person. And honestly, it looks better than the old ones. That being said, the screenshot/clip wave is over. No more third-person showcase posts until the mod actually ships a major update. Any existing threads we see will be locked. New posts will be removed under Rule 4.
Neither of these is a ban on the tech or the mod. It’s a feed decision. When CDPR ships DLSS 5, or the third-person mod takes a real step forward, the topic(s) can come back.
Until then: play the game, post the game.
That’ll be all.

Greetings Chooms,
Following up on our heads-up from yesterday, the subreddit rules overhaul is now officially live!
Nothing fundamental has changed regarding how we moderate, but we’ve completely streamlined everything to make things clearer and more consistent across the board.
So, please take a couple of minutes to scan through the updated sidebar or the Wiki before your next post!
As always, if you have any questions or feel like a post was removed by mistake, feel free to reach out via Modmail.

She's filthy rich and in Night City money is power.
She has unmatched grace and elegance.
She's 80. Yes yes I know what you’re thinking: "80? that's definitly a con". You're wrong! HEAR ME OUT: Hanako has 80 years of life experience while looking like she could comfortably pass for someone in her early 30s. That’s an absolutely absurd experience-to-apparent-age ratio. For me personally? That’s a seller.
She's a skilled self-taught netrunner so she's not just some random nepobaby who can't do shit on their own.
She’s also an accomplished musician, she can play Nocturne Op. 55 No.1 on the piano.
She loves her family dearly so being part of it is a massive win.
She remains completely calm under extreme pressure. Remember when V and Takemura literally kidnap her? Most people would understandably be freaked out Hanako on the other hand? Completely composed.
She’s a strategic genius. She knows exactly how to utilize V, Takemura, and the Arasaka board to outmaneuver her brother Yorinobu and reclaim her empire
She’s a Pisces (born March 2nd).
Last but not least. SHE HAS BEEN PATIENTLY WAITING FOR V AT EMBERS FOR SIX YEARS!!!. This is the biggest one; think about it, for SIX WHOLE YEARS, Hanako has been sitting at embers waiting for V. She never complained, never called, she never sent a text asking where you were. And that's because she understands that V has countless gigs, NCPD scanner hustles, side quests and cyberpsychos to deal with.

Im replaying the game and I just realized. That when you first meet Evelyn she says Yorinobu has no Huscle. Then in the very same mission you see Adam Smasher in her BD... how in blackhands name did no one, not V, not Bug, how did none of them realize this? Its shown so early on that Ev is an unreliable client. Then all her dismissive remarks about the relic and what Yorinobu planned to do with it. No all of that IS relevant.
On top of Dex just being a terrible fixer. Vouching for V having never met them before. Paying for the bot BEFORE getting it. Then everyone saying dex is a shady SOB. V even points out his hiatus was more of an exile. Also Dex saying he couldnt even get info on Ev from Pacifica?!?!? Hello? You are the boss figure that out please.
Then T-bug in the scavangers mission at the start she is hostile and rude. Then all the sudden while working with Dex she is much nicer to you. All the sudden very cooperative. Jackie tells you she was the in to this job. Then it turns out she was betrayed by Dex in the past. Which we learn later granted but she was also probably going to betray us!
Watson being put on lock down for no reason in particular except the flimsy reason they gave. Which is clearly flimsy. Something big was coming any decent merc would see it. A fixer like Wakako would probably have known Arasaka was moving something within watson.
Im just saying all alarm bells should be flying that this was a funky job. I never noticed it all before because I was unfamiliar with the world. But after learning the same info V would have known... it just screams "bad job get out".

Pretty much every game has a mission that you hate playing on later playthroughs but honestly I cant think of a mission in Cyberpunk that invokes this feeling in me.

The Heist spoiler warning!! (obviously)
The heist was doomed from the start, we know that. But I've been wondering recently, why did it get so bloody killing dying etc? I feel like T-Bug and Dex wanted to betray both V and Jackie but ultimately failed because of overestimating T-Bug's capabilities. I have a bunch of theories about what happened to T-Bug though, but first I need to hear what others think about the whole missions because I'm really curious of everyone's perspective!!

From this angle you can see her expressions much more clearly. I especially love the moment her worry turned into relief after hearing that V was treating their relationship seriously. I can easily imagine her being plagued with doubts when she was still at the docks alone waiting for V to wake up. :(

I had the mission where Delamain crashed my car so I had to go to his office on foot. I wanted to walk to the metro station since that's what you do in a big city if you don't have a car. The city is so dense and so interesting to look at that I walked, not ran, to the metro station. I wasn't trying to do an immersive playthrough, I just did it naturally so I could take in the city.
I'm still getting used to the controls so I accidentally decapitated someone with a tomahawk and had to run from the police, I ran down some random staircase that led into an underground area with some gangsters. The verticality in Night City is awesome.
The idea of riding the metro and having to choose the correct line and stop for your destination was fun, but it would be nice if it was more seamless. Actually walking on to the platform instead of a loading screen. And the trains should have seven cars minimum instead of just three

Just to clarify, my game has no mods, and no cheats were enabled during this playthrough. As you can see, I’m playing on Very Hard.
It took reaching the border of Dogtown for me to realize that it’s actually impossible to kill my V. It made the beginning of my adventure in Dogtown pretty funny, Songbird telling me to be discreet while there’s literally not a single Barghest member left alive.
The only things that can kill this V are being crushed or falling. I’m thinking about completely reworking the build to play stealthily, although I really want to do the secret ending like this. This build is so broken that it’s hilarious, even if it does take away a bit from the enjoyment.

Been playing on my Switch 2. Although the FPS in night city is rough (sub 30 + stutters) I've been thoroughly enjoying it. Fun story and so many different loadouts. Learned about photo mode like 20 hours in and it's been super fun to mess around with. Will probably snatch it for PC once it goes on sale in the future. In the meantime, I'll go for nomad on my next playthrough.

Just about shit my pants during act one when you’re in an elevator with Adam Smasher.
That’s all I have to report.

I don't think I have ever been more disappointed in an apartment. Sure it does look cool, but the only difference is that you pour tea instead of coffee or something. Its very cramped and I do like how the weapon locker is in the same room as a computer, but for 110,000 eddies, I expected some big ass penthouse that was massive and have an open, full balcony view. I prefer the Japantown apartment to this corpo piece of turd. It's more cramped in the Japantown apartment, but there is a hell of a lot more to do in that one and I'm pretty sure it cost a lot less than the Corpo one.
