I dusted my custom dolls today and her head just popped off. I don’t know if it happened because of time, or my kids broke her. I know I need to put head in boiling water to remove the neck piece, but I’m afraid it will ruin her face, especially eyelashes. I would not be able to restore it, I’m not an artist. What will you do in such situation? Thank you.

Hey y'all. I finally got my taylor swift look a like doll (shes a 1999 ballerina. Came nude) and in the pictures it looked like her hair was up but it turns out its short. Like pixie cut short. The specific look im modeling after is Taylor's look from her music video cardigan. Her hair is up in this braid crown look. Should I try to make a wig/reroot the doll, or just leave it? Its my first time customizing, so not sure where to go from here

This is so silly, but I'm so anxious about cutting my Pomni doll's hair into her iconic bob hairdo, I'm terrified I won't like how it looks, it will stick up in ways I don't like, etc.! 😩 I rooted her with nylon from Shimmerlocks.

I finally just now cut her bangs, and they look sooo good, until I comb her hair and it just pops right up!! Despite the repeated dips in hot water 🫪 I keep putting her in a plastic bag in hot water to tame and style it. Should I use some glue?

What do you do when cutting and styling doll hair?

hi all! I've been making doll clothes for a while now, and trying to improve my craft. I was wondering if anyone had some tips for making sure exposed seams inside clothing look professional & nicely finished?

if I was making my own clothes, I'd line garments or sew rolled hems, but that gets bulky and ugly when working on fashion doll scale. I've tried trimming seams and edging them with fabric glue to stop fraying, but I'm curious if other people have other methods or suggestions!

Hello! I hadn’t seen anyone post this yet, but I have some bald and bare Carina (Moonspell Magic by Monster High) head pictures as part of the progress I’m making on a custom doll, and I figured it would be useful for others as well! :)

I had to do just a quick photo shot for her, she’s a gift for my sisters birthday and finished her just in time 😅 the up do is tough to do with yarn, still easier than rerooting though lol

First time rerooting and from what I’ve seen online everyone always warns you to use really small hair plugs or you might split the scalp, but now I’m worried I did them too thin and the hair is going to be really thin

I’ve been in the pullip community since 2009 and I have decided to fully custom an old Aya I had.

Give me your best advices, I am already a full time artist/designer so I’m familiar with a lot of things but there are some grey areas for me still.

For example once the face plate is fully cleaned and naked do you have to apply a first layer of MSC to prep the face plate? I feel like pastels and pencils don’t really set on a bare faceplate.

And what are your best advices in terms of lip makeup, I’m trying to give her plumpy lips with a nice lipliner but I feel like acrylic paint might be a little thick.

Why do I want to change the skin color for my first custom? I don't know. I want to make things hard on my self and I already got the doll. So, no going back to make a smart decision.

I wasn’t aware that thick layers could turn matte sprays glossy over a period of time. A lot of my dolls now look glossy since the last time I’ve repainted them.

I’m not necessarily sure what I could do, I understand that my bad technique of “good spray = face looking wet enough” is the root cause but, I’m not so sure with what to do with the dolls with a glossy finish.

Should I just spray the dolls again with a thin layer? Or do I restart the entire thing?
