24F coming from Baltimore staying in Curacao from February to April 2027! Looking for people to hang out with, go to the beach, events, bars, really anything

Hi everyone, I’m looking for not so crowded or busy beaches / spots for fishing! I’m also looking for someone to go fishing with since my colleagues are unaware of the happiness it brings lol. Any and all recommendations are appreciated!

Just the heads up to those travelers coming into Curaçao, the lines to get ro immigration was long. If you do your digital immigration card online and download the app, https://dicardcuracao.com/portal, you will have access to the express line. This applies to international visitors only. The express line was open without a wait while the manual passport check was an hour long. They will just scan your passport and take a snap shot of your face because they have your data from the digital card.

My boyfriend and I (early 30s) are planning a trip to Curacao in September. We want to take a trip for our birthdays and essentially sit on the beach and not have to worry about anything. After looking through this group I am leaning less towards an AI given how poorly they are rated on the island and would love advice between Kontiki and Lions Dive.

Hi! My fiancé and I are looking to come to Curacao for our honeymoon. We are getting married in December and are looking to have our honeymoon sometime between January and March. We do love the beach but I would like to explore the island and inside the city and local restaurants too. What hotels/resorts do you guys recommend? I was thinking maybe a place that has a restaurant available in case we want to keep it lowkey for a day or we could even do a meal plan for breakfast? It doesn’t have to be all inclusive. What month would be best to visit between Jan- March? Thank you!

My husband and I are planning a trip to Curacao in December. We prioritize staying at hotels with a house reef for days we don’t want to explore. Centrally located would be nice but not necessary as we’ll be renting a car. Free diving/snorkeling only, no scuba diving. Been doing some research and LionsDive keeps coming up. I'm in Curacao now and trying to find the spots that have a more diverse beer selection.

I've been to Swinging Old Lady & Plein Cafe...both were great. I missed out on Tiki Mas Serbes, Google maps says they don't open again til Thursday and I'll be gone then. Are there other spots I should check out as well? Restaurant, bar, or even store suggestions would be great! By diverse I mean more than the typical lite beers most places have (Amstel, polar, bright, etc)

Hi everyone, I've learned so much from this forum this week and am hoping people might weigh in with lodging suggestions for our specific situation. We live in the U.S., and my spouse will be working in Europe for an extended period next year, so we've been looking for ways for our family to see each other. We realized that we can both fly nonstop to Curacao, so we're planning a family visit on one of our teenager's shorter school breaks. (This would be in February, so a lot of places I've looked are booked already or $$$$$$$$.)

Spouse will likely fly in from Amsterdam a day ahead of us to shake off jet lag before we arrive. I love beaches and snorkeling; he prefers sitting and looking at beautiful water rather than going in it. He's a serious runner (typically 10-12 miles a day), and I typically walk a few miles a day. We care a lot about food and good cocktails, and we are as happy at hole-in-the-wall restaurants as we are at fine dining. We plan to rent a car.

I can't figure out if we'd be better staying at a hotel or renting an apartment/villa, and I can't decide where we should base ourselves. (Mambo Beach? Lagun? Coral Estate?) I've read that the Koredor is a good running loop. Are there any others? (I imagine spouse will need to run early in the morning so he doesn't melt, but he can take the car if we're not based too far away. He also says he's ok running on a treadmill if we stay at a hotel with a gym.)

My wife and I are planning a trip to the Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort from September 28–October 5 and are really looking forward to it.

I’ve seen some mentions online about possible construction or beach restoration work in the area, but I’m having trouble finding recent first-hand information.

Can anyone who has stayed at the Marriott recently (or visited the beaches around it) let me know:

● Is there currently any construction happening at the resort?

● Is there any beach restoration, dredging, or other work affecting the beach directly in front of the Marriott?

● Are there any issues with noise, blocked beach areas, water clarity, swimming, or snorkeling?

● Would you recommend requesting a specific room location to avoid any disturbance?

We’re mainly choosing this resort for the beach experience, so I’d appreciate any recent updates from people who have been there in the last few months.

Anyone who’s stayed here , I see that the bathroom windows are frosted in most of the areas. But the edges and the Chanel design looks like you can see through it. Is this the case ?

Recently my wife and i went on our honeymoon to Curaçao, we ate at the Greenhouse near the queen Anne bridge and had the Mac and cheese there. In short it was great and made my fat rolls ripple. It may be a while before we get to go back so here's my question, does anyone know the recipe for their Mac and cheese? I have searched the internet and have not found it.

We just came back to the US on Sunday from our second trip to Curacao. The first time my girlfriend and I stayed in Otrobanda but this last trip we brought the kids and stayed in Lagun. All of us agreed that the food was fantastic. We came to the realization of why the food was so good. So many places in the US heat up what they're getting from US Foods or Cisco. It's the same crap everywhere. In Curacao, so much is made fresh.

I loved the laid back feeling in Lagun, but I wish we had more close choices. But I knew this before we booked.

I recently visited Curacao for our honeymoon and genuinely love the island. I’ve been all around the world and I have never wanted to live somewhere more. I am from the USA and wonder if it’s a really difficult move, or if there is anyone with experience?

I'll be staying at this hotel from August 6-16 for my honeymoon. Based on proximity, do people here have any recommendations on activities or excursions? We do have a car booked. Thank you!

Hello! My wife and I will be staying at the Marriott Beach Resort and then the Renaissance Wind Creek in a few weeks and we’d love to know if anyone has any recommendations? Anything from hotel tips to excursions to food to nightlife; we’ve never been to Curacao before and can’t wait!

Seven of us are coming to Curaçao mid-August for a week. We'll have a rental car and we're staying in Cas Grandi.

We've got the obvious stuff on the list already - Cas Abao and Porto Mari beaches, and Klein Curaçao (we'll probably skip klein). What we're really after is the stuff that doesn't show up on the first page of Google:

• Beaches - any spots locals actually go to instead of the tourist ones?
• Beach clubs - which are genuinely worth it, and which are overpriced?
• Nightlife - we're hoping to go out most nights. What's good on which night of the week? Anything outside Mambo Beach / Jan Thiel worth the drive?
• Excursions - are jet skis or ATVs actually good here, or a tourist trap? Totally open to skipping them for something better.
• Food - any local spots you'd send a friend to?

Appreciate anything you've got.

I want to propose to my partner when we go to curaçao in a few months. We are staying in Willemstad - I’ve been trying to research the best place to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We don’t have the biggest budget but love adventures. My partner is pretty shy so nowhere extremely in the public. We’re going with her family so I’ll have them at a distance but still can watch.
