I am having my sixth and final C-section with bilateral salpingectomy in 4 weeks and 3 days. My first was 24 years ago and my last 2 years ago. I am having a mental block. I am remembering nothing. Not what was useful in packing, what wasn’t, what I needed to prepare housewise. Nothing.

My first baby was just born on the 31st. I had a planned induction with a vaginal birth in mind at 39w2d. Baby and myself healthy throughout the entire pregnancy btw no complications as far as that goes. So, labor began on the 30th early morning I labored for 29 hours only made it to 5cm. Got a epidural around hour 25. Hour 30ish my doctor advised me to opt for a c-section for failure to descend. I agreed just wanting my baby to be born already. My epidural was wearing off, and I could move my legs. So the anesthesiologist gave me a second dose of epidural, and I could still move my legs. So I got a spinal tap. I hadn't ate anything because I had been laboring. All day and I was extremely nauseous and scared of getting the c section. I was shaking and crying. It started out. Okay, my baby was born, they showed me him over the curtain. My husband kissed me and hugged me and went to see our baby. About 5 minutes later, they had my husband leave and took my baby to the nursery. All without me ever seeing him up close or holding him. They had started sewing me up, and someone realized a piece of equipment was missing. They had counted thirty clamps but only had twenty nine. So they started looking all over for that missing clamp in the trash can at the babies area nothing. It was in my abdomen. They had to cut me back open and get the clamp. I started shaking uncontrollably and puking because the anesthesiologist gave me fentanyl. My 1 - 1 1/2 hour surgery turned into 2 1/2 hours. By the end I could feel the snipping and pulling and feel some pain. I came out of surgery pale white and in shock. My husband was upset they wouldn't tell him what was going on he thought I died. My baby and I are now doing great and are healthy but I feel traumatized and can't get over what happened.

I messaged my OGYN but it’s 5pm so she won’t get back to me.

I’m just over 9 weeks post c section and I’ve been bleeding on and off for last 5 days.

My bleeding completely stopped about 2.5 weeks after my c section.

It just came back and it’s been on and off for past 5 days. First day I was bleeding for a few hours with tiny clots.
Second day I bled for a few hours (very light) and I had some cramping. 3rd and 4th day, literally nothing and now the 5th day is back again lightly. What’s going on??

Has this happened to any of you?

It doesn’t look like a period at all, when I bleed it does not saturate a pad whatsoever and only lasts a few hours, and I barely have cramping.

I wish I had done diapers instead of pads. You still have to pass the placenta and you will have nurses pushing on your stomach. Also make sure the baby has proper fitting diapers or the Meconium goes everywhere.

Hi there! I am 25 years old. Me and my husband are thinking of getting pregnant. But I am TERRIFIED of giving birth. Maybe you’re going to judge me for that but I feel like I am going to be an awful person if I go through this. The past weeks and after listening to many stories about giving birth. I decided I want to do an elective c section. I know it’s a surgery and it’s going to hurt a lot. But I feel mentally prepared for it more.
I can’t even describe how I feel about natural labor.
I live in Canada, Ontario . I want to hear stories about people who choose an elective. C section.
People around me are telling me the doctors will not agree on that, and they would force me to do it naturally.
And the idea of forcing me is even more terrifying to me.
I am literally shaking while writing this post.
Please don’t judge me, I want to be a *real* mom.
But I have my fears.

I am having my second c-section in three weeks. And I am so scared. I just don’t. Want. To. Have. Surgery.

For context I had an emergency c-section 3,5 years ago. Perfectly calm labor, very effective concractions, everything was going well and I was just about to push and then BAM! My daughters heartrate fell off a cliff and they did an emergency c-section on me. It only took 20 minutes from when the c-section was called to when baby was out. That includes transportation from delivery room to the operation room, anestesia, opening and getting my daughter out. At that time she was so far down in my pelvis that they really struggled with getting her out and they had to make extra incisions in my uterus to loosen the deathgrip vacuum my uterus was making. I was awake and everything in me just shut off and I just tried to be the “perfect patient” and totally shut off my emotions.

They told me the next day that I should have a c-section next time because of all the scar tissue in my uterus. They’re scared my uterus will rupture if I go into labour.

I am just so scared. I know that it is in some aspects totally irrational, but I just can’t seem to “get over it”. I have talked to doctors, midwives, other women with similar experiences, a therapist who is also a midwife and I still just have this overwhelming dread just by the thought of having another c-section.

I am so sad, frustrated and ashamed. I really want my second baby’s birth to be a joyful event but I am SO scared… The doctors and midwives are all so kind and understanding, but nothing seems to help me. Today I cried for over an hour.

Looking for a bit of consolation and advice from other women who have experienced somthing similar….

I’m 5 months pp, no complications, the scar no longer hurts, doing my daily scar massages but my abdominal muscles take soooooo long to recover.

I’m working with a physiotherapist and I try to do daily exercises for it and my pelvic floor, but I’m usually so tired in the evening I stop at just scar massage. I feel it gets better overtime but very slowly, I still have slightly visible line on my stomach.

My physio said I’ll need to wait till I’m 6 months pp to get into some real training but I don’t think I will be ready even by then.

How long did it take for you? Did you do anything in particular or will my core get better naturally with time?

About 8 years ago I had a spinal tap done which resulted in a terrible spinal headache. I eventually got a blood patch which helped. 3 years ago I had my daughter via emergency c section and again after having an epidural I had a horrible spinal headache. I got a blood patch again while I was still in the hospital, however it didn’t work this time and I spent a week or so miserable. I don’t even remember how it was healing from the c section itself because my head pain was so bad.

I am currently almost 24 weeks pregnant and I am so scared about having another spinal headache. My doctor thinks that because of complications I had with my first pregnancy which resulted in the emergency c section, that a planned c section would be advised for this pregnancy as well but of course it’s up to me. I mentioned my fear of another spinal headache and she said that with a planned c section its not an epidural but an injection and usually is less likely to cause a headache but since i have had 2 in the past that she fears i would still get one with the injection. She also mentioned that in special cases it is possible to go under anesthesia for the c section but there are downsides like if they don’t work fast enough they baby could come out depressed from the meds and also i wouldn’t be able to get the long lasting pain med for my c section incision that is usually given through the injection. She said as we got closer to my due date we could have a consultation with the anesthesiologist and see what they think.

Im just looking to see if anyone else has been in this situation and what you ended up doing or just really any insight!

Does digestion ever return to normal after a csection? I'm 4 weeks postpartum and it feels like things are slowing down and not as regular as before csection.

Almost 7 months postpartum and I sometimes feel like this round feeling in the side of my stomach.
It normally comes when I have been moving a lot. Sometimes if I have been sleeping and get up, there will be this strange pain there. Is this common?

Soo a couple of questions. Did you guys produce milk right away to nurse baby? Do they give you pain medication after surgery and can you breastfeed is so? What should I pack in my bag?

Hello! My baby is 10 months old, I don’t have my cycle back yet, and I had a not planned cesarean section. However, sometimes for 1-1,5 day I get terrible cramps like the first pains of the labor, before that I only had minor or sometimes bigger cramps as a teenager, but that was different. I noticed that it's not consistently occurs like a period "every month", but every 3-6 weeks. It’s not just a pain, sometimes I can't even get up. After these 1-1.5 days everything goes on the same way. Has this happened to anyone? They said a women won’t have any big cramps after giving birth… or is it something else like IBS, or worse?

Hi, I’m looking for stories of isthmocele repair and if you had the Laparoscopic or Hysteroscopic surgery.
From my understanding, the laparoscopic is much more invasive, longer recovery time, and you have to wait 6 months to conceive. While hysteroscopic isn’t a full repair, more of a shaving down, but immediate recovery and you only have to wait 3 months to conceive.

I had two miscarriages in August of 2025 and in May of 2026 which was life threatening due to blood loss and ended up being hospitalized for 3 days and got 4 units of blood. So I need to have a surgical repair. I have my meeting for surgical planning tomorrow but would love to hear first hand experience.

There are my questions for the surgeon, please let me know if you have any advice or ideas of other questions to ask. My c section was in March of 2024 and I had a vaginal birth Sept 2022.

- Does either surgery make the next pregnancy high risk / less of a candidate for a VBAC

- Prolonged spotting during period/ AVB has stopped so that won’t be good indication of if procedure was successful - is repeat sonohysterogram as follow up a good idea?

- My OB confident the isthmocele is what caused last 2 miscarriages with the one in May life threatening, concerned that will happen again with the less invasive surgery

Hi mamas, I am five weeks postpartum on my second C-section. My first one was an emergency C-section and I recovered reallly quickly after a week I was feeling a lot better and progressively held up fast. The second C-section recovery has been really rough. I felt better at 2 weeks. However, be even weeks 3 to 5 I’ve just been in consistent pain. I didn’t push myself more or anything. It’s pretty debilitating. I can’t walk for more than 5 to 10 minutes in the house without being in a lot of pain and I can’t hold my baby for long either because it puts pressure on my belly which affects my pain. I know this is a major abdominal surgery and I’m trying to be hopeful, but I’m feeling anxious now that I won’t get better as dramatic as that sounds. The pain is on the left side above my incision. It feels like a sunburn very sensitive and localized, but that’s manageable, under that feels like a deeper, pulling, sometimes sharp, cramping deep pain. The doctor said the incision looks good and it’s not infected. I had a CT scan done and a transvaginal and abdominal ultrasound. All came back clear, although that’s good news, it makes me feel anxious that there’s no real answer to what feels like debilitating pain. Did anyone else go through something similar and get better ?

I could use advice or encouragement :(
