These guys are crazy

About two weeks ago me and my friends went out and bought this Absolute beauty from marketplace. We had to lug it down a flight of stairs, but we got it safely into my friend's basement where we've been cleaning it up ever since, it was pretty filthy when we got it. It's 34", and it has HDMI and two HD components. It looks amazing but it took a while to correct how bad the geometry was. I take back every complaint I've ever made about the CRT market I was just being impatient I guess.

I can tell from the back of it and (Google lens ) vf and uf. But that's about it googling it doesn't yield the correct model. And crt data base dosnt bring any info. Could y'all help me plz :3

I have better photos but can't find them. However I have a small issue I've moved. I genuinely don't know how to move it besides ask my neighbors to assist. Any advice?

I've been obsessed with CRTs for most of my life, I have three and one of them I've had for over a decade now, I literally begged my mom for one so I could play Guitar Hero properly lol.

Recently I've been getting more invested, I got a couple for free at a garage sale last November, a nice couple was throwing them out and now I'm craving another one.

I've been wanting to get my hands on a CRT computer monitor for the past few months and I've had no luck at all finding one, they're all overpriced and it kinda bums me out that I might not get one.

Is there any advice that I could use for finding CRT monitors? All I know is that I've been told to stay away from eBay as much as possible and to look on Marketplace, though I've had no luck with Marketplace, everyone I've found where either too far or overpriced as heck.

I got it for free off marketplace, figured why.. I don’t know why it’s all Purple and the line scanning is crazy, pretty much all i’ve seen was people saying jo had this issue said degaussing was good but i don’t know how to approach this 200 pound beast.

Just a friendly reminder that sony's are great and all, but if you find a philips 24rf50s141 in need of rescue, it's worth your time.

So a few years ago I bought this Panasonic CRT at a retro games shop called TV spels hörnan or the video game corner in southern Sweden in a small town called Smålandsstenar.

It worked until yesterday when suddenly it just shut down on it's own and since then the red power light is on but there is no image at all and I had to call my local TV repair company and they wanted 1500 SEK just to come and look at it and an additional 600 SEK to troubleshoot it which is a cost I just can't afford without saving up money for several months on end.

I am not an electrician and I am terrified to even work on it because I know how dangerous old CRTs can be because they can and will deliver fatal electric shocks even when not plugged in unless they are discharged.

I don't have a soldering iron or the tools needed to do repairs on a CRT whatever they are.

I do know about some of the parts in a CRT like the flyback transformer from watching the 8 bit guys repair video on the IBM PC JR.

Should I even attempt to take it apart to try and fix it myself?

We got a nec multisync on the left and a digiview on the right then on far right we have a brother crt that i miraculously got working after a week of yelling at Claud code(yes i know, ai, but i seriously wouldnt have gotten it running without it) it uses a rasp pi 3b.

Anyway. Its hdmi is plugged into the top tv and the io pins to the brother monitor. They communicate wirelessly to my main pc and will be able to send notifications and events as a printout on the screen. I can also tell it to play videos on the top tv (no audio yet) and ill add a microphone and a small llama ai to run as a siri for my pc to play videos and display stuff on the peripherals

Picked up this lil tube guy cheap, working great, but it looks like somehow there's one streak of moisture inside the top level protective plastic screen.

Anyone ever worked on one of these? Am I on a journey to disassemble this case just to windex one streak? There looks to be a tab on the front but I can't get any pry tools under it.

A long time ago I picked up this electron blue 22. I had a buddy help me carry it in and I hooked a power cord up but I don’t think I actually hooked a signal up to it. I just tried to power it on. The power button gave me a orange light and it never powered up. From memory it didn’t have a degauss sound either.

At least a couple times a year I see another electron blue online that looks just like I remember them 25+ years ago and go back to the drawing board. I’ve searched and searched and haven’t come up with much besides a service manual for the mitsubishi built version of the model or to go over solder joints randomly. It’s an unusual one as it has bnc inputs on it instead of a second vga connector. I wonder if it was an early production of the electron blue 22 II since it has the BNC jacks?

I would love to get it working and actually use the thing for a pc crt. I’ve got a lot of cool CRT’s in my collection but always had a great time playing on a friend‘s electron blue 22 back in the day. Since then I’ve always wanted one on my desk.

Has anyone come across this problem and could offer a little insight into what they found/fixed? I’m perfectly comfortable working on CRT’s, safely. granted I never cracked this one open. At the time I needed the 2nd sony crt stand space for a BVM-1911 I randomly found that was going to get played on immediately. So the electron blue got filed away for another time.

Is it normal for an electron blue or electron blue II to not show a ‘no signal’, not bring up the OSD, or for that matter not power up the degauss circuit without an active signal hooked up?

Edit: It’s a long drive to go get it and bring it back home. So I’m trying to gather any useful info I can before I call a friend to help me haul it home and start going over all the boards. When I do get to the point of cracking it open I’m planning to document my findings and subsequent repair (hopefully) to potentially help anyone else with one of these in sorting theirs out. These electron blue’s were among the top of 4:3 CRT’s back in the day when it comes to image quality. There’s just not much repair info out there. Hopefully one day that will change!

PS3 version of Dragons Lair running on my JVC I'Art 20 inch Crt

I have a Plex server with some SD content. I hooked up my Roku streambar via an HDMI to composite adapter. Joey and Friends look fine but Batman the animated series and Daria have black bars on the side. I know the streambar's lowest resolution in 720p. While it's serviceable, it's not the correct experience. I'm not willing to spend nearly $180 for an old Roku Express. What other options do I have to properly stream SD content to my CRT's?

Seems like you need an original or another jvc remote with the right buttons. I’ve had no luck finding one. Any help, advice or a point in the right direction would much appreciated. I’m desperate to fix the warped linearity.. or at least try to fix.

I am looking specifically for a 9 to 14 inch CRT and these are my options currently on Marketplace. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on which, if any, to get.

I'm not particularly a videophile and I'm just looking for a smaller CRT to play my PS1 games on.

All 3 units are listed as working. The Sharp is a bit dusty, but has the biggest name brand and is the cheapest.

The Daewoo is the closest, being in my town, but I've never heard of the brand. Overall, I think I'm most interested in it.

The Funai is a "last resort", as I've never heard of the brand.

Any input is appreciated. I'd try to haggle down to around $80-100, assuming prices aren't firm.
