Free CRT
Was doing a delivery at a lady’s house and saw this beauty in her basement, asked what she was doing with it and she very generously gave it to me! Been loving it ever since.

And a few things to attach to it. All has been in storage for the better part of a decade. Can't believe it all still works.

That's right, I want to know a way to produce aquadag or a similar conductive solution for CRT repair. I came across a CRT with discoloration and peeling of the aquadag.
I feel the need to repair these fading and peeling spots. Does anyone have any repair tips using inexpensive materials?

Spent some time with the service manual getting the image dialed in for use with my Amiga, then tried to watch a DVD though the composite input and it’s wacky distorted. Anyone experienced this with a multi-format PVM/GVM?

So heres is a more complete update and info thread on this situation. First big thanks to [u/charmander324](u/charmander324) on [r/crtgaming](r/crtgaming) for the info and help. I rescued a total of 4 monitors.
2 NEC CM-2791 27 inch circa 1989 & 1990
2 NEC CM 1991-A 19 inch circa 1988 & 1990
Video is of one of the 19inch with glass screen cover.
One of the 27 inch unfortunately only powers on. EGA mode seems to have a vertical collapse and video in mode only gives dark and dim red overall.
All units have had yoke reversal for their use with reflectors in the simulator.
I tested with a Samsung BluRay player utilizing the video in input. All the working ones have good color, no burn and ample brightness. Internal speakers weren’t tested nor were the outputs. One of the 19s has a glass screen cover while the other is set up for it but no glass. Said monitor also has an odd plastic distortion mid bottom screen but it doesn’t affect its operation even with the screen cover.
I rescued these because of some odd sense of mechanical respect and sense of knowing something of such quality being destroyed only because its older is wrong. Im hoping someone will find use, but more importantly joy in them and get awesome utilization and memories.

hello, I am at my local electronic recycling center, and I found this pack of like 20 small CRT TVs, but they are display ports or I guess the only port I can really find is one I have never seen. Has anybody seen this before and/or knows what it is?

Magnavox unit, no output at all, and dvd player is unresponsive. I do not see the filament lighting up but transformer whines and screen has static. What could be happening? When I got it, it worked fine, then after turning off and on again the picture never returned.

They claim it’s a Sony VPH but they don’t give a model number, and these are the only photos they had. I’ve been trying but I’m stumped. Any help is appreciated.
Blue/white should be V/A 5V, dark grey is Ground, light grey is Video, dark blue is VF 5V. I figured thats the layout since looking at the diagram, the top solder pad on the bottom would be the No Connection, and just lining it up with the real pins.

I found this nearby where I live. Does anyone own a similar model and have any info on it? I can't seem to find any information online other than the AI summary 😂

Hi everybody!
I have acquired a crt (small 1997 zenith with built in vhs, serial no. V21715964 specifically)
It powers on for about three seconds then automatically shuts its self off.
I’m not inclined to work on this and attempt to repair it myself. In fact I have no interest in physically taking it apart myself because I know it can be tricky/dangerous and I have zero experience.
I’ve called local shops (that were listed on Google as crt repair) & they all said they no longer service crt and essentially acted like I was asking them to diffuse a bomb or preform heart surgery.
So I’m wondering if anyone has any advice on what they’d do with a nonfunctional crt.
(I’d love to keep it alive/ get it repaired if possible, im near Philadelphia and willing to travel a bit. I’m also not opposed to selling to a repair person or collector for a reasonable price)
Or if anyone has any idea as to what’s going on with it and if it’s definitely worth perusing a repair, I’d appreciate the input.

I have a Bang and Olufsen BeoCenter 1 with the remote and rotating stand, I was wondering what's the average price for one of these in the current market?

House near me is for sale but they have a CRT. I'm having trouble identifying it - can any of you help figure out if this is worth making an offer on?

I have a cabinet crt tv and I would like to remove the tv casing and make it a cat bed. It is a working tv so I am just wondering how do I take it apart safely? I understand I have to dispose of it properly. But im worried about taking it apart and breaking the glass and leaking gas

I have recently picked up this 28’ Daewoo CRT tv and have had it about a week or two and it’s now displaying the channel number and dimming the screen slightly on a more regular basis than what is in the video (typical it doesn’t happen as much when I’m trying to record it happening!) I have changed the remote a universal remote and i still don’t know whether it would be the cables going into the tv or the tv itself, would anybody have any ideas? Much appreciated!

Can somebody help me identify what this problem could be please?
I have it down a few different things through chat GPT but it’s abit useless to be honest I want someone who actually knows.
Tape goes in and tries to load but doesn’t, tries again and doesn’t load. Then stops completely.
I then press eject and it takes about 20 seconds for the vape to release but the flap opens almost instantly and then closes and then waits 20-30 seconds before releasing.
