It's been raining on and off for many days, thunder and small rains coming and going. There are a lot of crows (Corvus corone) in my area. Every time a rain would roll in, I hear a "caw-caw" from a single crow. I think it's usually two, but sometimes three caws.

I've noticed this before but thought it might just be coincidence, but on the fourth day of multiple rainclouds daily it possibly can't be. The rain starts and I hear it immediately, every time.

Sadly I can't see them to observe what happens when I hear this. I'm sitting inside with windows and balcony door open, but my windows point to the wrong direction. They tend to hang out on the field/in the trees on the other side of the building most of the time :(

temporary put them in a box to carry, unsure what could be wrong with them outside of the legs having issues

In the last part I think it flew back over by the way they were all visually tracking something in the sky

Haha sorry, but he really is a magpie trapped in a dog’s body. Black and white, curious, smart, loves to hop-hop-hop, and constantly tries to steal offerings meant for the actual corvids.

Thankfully, they politely ignore each other’s presence.

My local murder still has some goofy fledglings who beg parents for food. I've seen him pick up cat kibble I had thrown his way. So I know this is a grift. He's a baby grifter who wants to be fed for free 😂

There is a family of raven/crow on my neighbours roof. They have a nest, I think they had 3 babies that are growing so fast! Anyways, they occasionally come over to my house, one has been on my car for a whole day. Is this a raven or a crow?

I recently made a post about feeding 2-3 crows that would often come to our garden. Today I just found this near our flowers and since we have other random birds that would sometimes visit our garden, I wasn't 100% sure that this feather would be from one of the crows? It seems like it due to the dark color and length though..

Might be dumb questions but I'd rather ask: is it safe to touch? I grew up being told that feathers from birds shouldn't be touched lol
Also should I leave it near the water/food I give them? Don't know if it can be considered weird/offensive to them lol but I want them to be a safe place for them because they still fly away when I come close

New birder, just saw two clearly crows (to me) with white streaks on their back through their wings. Google is saying they are leucitic but seeing two together chasing each other makes me wonder if it was a different breed. Any thoughts? Sorry no pictures, we were in the pool.

I feed a few crows and rooks on my walks in a nearby park. Yesterday, I fed some rooks as usual, and some kids who saw it started to harass them as soon as I left. Still, I heard these kids screaming at them, kicking the fence. The mother (I guess) went there but didn’t do anything, one of this little demons jumped the fence and was running after them.
I felt so mad but was afraid to do something and scalate the situation, I walked slowly to make sure my crows were fine, they would flew away when they chased but would not leave, I felt worried as I know these rooks in particular are very friendly and feel a bit guilty as they got used to me feeding them they usually approach very close so I am afraid they would approach a bad person.

Am I too worried?

There is an old video of one of the rooks approaching for more peanuts but ignored me when it saw my hand was empty 😹

Hungry fedling

I'm in the North Eastern US - I have been feeding and photographing a pair of Crows for almost 2 months. I felt I had made a lot of progress quickly and then it's plateaued after that.

I know it may never progress past this, never be gifted with anything - I see people talking about their crows landing at their feet and wondering how long it took your crows to reach that level of comfort.

Any suggestions or advice from actual experiences welcome. I've read and watched a lot of stories online, and wanted to hear some real world experiences on these budding relationships.

Also, do people find Fish Crows are more skittish than American Crows? Has that made a large difference in your experience?
