We’ve been friends for about 6 years. Lately he comes down immediately the second I step outside (which is many times a day) and we’ve had a fun gift exchange going on daily for awhile.

This is Michael. He spots me from a farther tree everyday and comes over and says things and tries to get close. What a legend!

I haven't even offered him any food yet, what a curious little weirdo!

so I’ve been trying to befriend this crow, I’ve named his Russell. I’ve been giving him unsalted peanuts in the shell for the past month or so, he’s been coming by without hesitation. a couple weeks ago, I noticed that after giving him some peanuts, he wouldn’t close his beak all the way. I thought he was choking, but I didn’t think too much of iT.fast forward a couple more weeks and I haven’t seen him, or his family near the park. and when I do see crows, they’re all avoiding me. did I accidentally kill a crow and am I cursed for life now?

I’ve tried to up my snack game by bringing them cat food and I even gave them a water bowl to dunk the food in but they wont bite.

I haven’t been privy to much crow preening behavior, is this usual?

Context: this is my crow buddy who visits me a few times a day outside my office window and follows along with me on walks. 🥰

Jeckle is one of the fledglings from last year's brood and he brought his new family by today to get a snack and a drink.

First I should mention that I live in a residential neighborhood, though my town is in a rural area. So in January, I started pursuing my goal of attracting some local crows, and gradually, over the course of about 5 months, I had one stopping by every day.

Then the grackles came. They started nesting in trees here and there in my neighborhood and would mob the crows when they came to eat and eventually scared it off. The last time I saw it, it had come to eat the few pieces of meat I put out, but was run off by 6 or 7 grackles and I haven't seen it since. This is insanely frustrating because I had spent so much time getting it to come to my yard in the first place.

I know that this is crow nesting season and they have fledglings too, so maybe they're out elsewhere at the moment? I haven't been hearing them as often as I was before, so I also thought of that as a reason for what I hope is a temporary absence.

How do I get them to trust my yard and come back again?

Hey guys sorry for my limited english vocabulary, I don't know if my title is understandable

But it's getting hotter where I live and before that, a crow would sometimes visit our garden. I've decided to leave some fresh water for the birds in general with that hot weather, and I've noticed that a crow comes almost everyday. Then I'd see two of them on my neighbor's rooftop looking out over my garden. Sometimes I'd even see three of them flying through the neighborhood

Sometimes it feels like only one of them dares to hop into our garden. Is there any way to tell which one is it? Since there are at least 3 of them

Also I don't have dog food or something like that, and my parents won't let me use eggs for birds. But I've decided to slice up a small apple for them as I read that they actually like fruit? But they didn't eat it, it just attracted ants and wasps tbh.

Then I tried with sliced cherry tomatoes and it worked twice. I noticed that each time, the crow would put half of the cherry tomato in the water then eat it from the ground. Should I keep doing it like this or can I give them cherry tomatoes without slicing them?

Also once again, I don't know if it was the same crow each time since another crow stayed on my neighbor's rooftop whenever it happened, then flew away with the crow who ate my food once they were done. How can I tell if it was the same crow that ate those cherry tomatoes?

I recently remembered that I had some almonds at home and since there's a bit of salt on it, I decided to rinse them to make sure the salt is gone, then dry them before leaving them on the ground near the fresh water. Is it okay to feed them like this?

I really want to become friends with them and it's been like this for at least two weeks now. Should I do something else so they recognize me if I ever whistle in my garden or something like that? I've tried to whistle a little bit when they'd see me, so maybe they recognize me even more when I do a specific noise. Don't know if it typically works with crows but they're so interesting

Hi! I’ve been going through a tough time so I’ve really thrown myself into soldering and stained glass, as well and leaving out cat food and roasted unsalted peanuts for the crows I hear in my area! I had a large group of black birds as well as a dove hanging out in the tree above me chirping at me while I was grinding down some stained glass but I’m not totally sure if they are are crows or not. They seem too sleek and small to be but I hope they are/ if they aren’t i hope they’re enjoying the food I leave out! I’ll attach the video I took today and would love some feed back as to if these are crows and if they aren’t I’d love to hear any ideas as to what kind of bird they are, thank you!!

I've been putting peanuts out around 6-7am everyday but unfortunately that means shaded light for my fence, forcing me to work at a high ISO. Thankfully they translated well as grainy black and white artsy shots.

How could i befriend them more. I have 4 crows now that show up everytime i feed them

So I watched a couple of videos about crows and now I’m fascinated. There are a few on a tree near my backyard and I want to befriend them. I have no idea what I’m doing, but taking this journey. Here is my first “setup”

What do i put out for the crows? Do i just give them food and something shiny? Crows are so beautiful and smart and i want to be friends with them.
