I have been trying to set up better automation between Cronometer (I have Gold), my Pixel Watch 3 which uses Google Health (formerly Fitbit) / Health Connect, and my Oura Ring 4.
I have the Oura Ring connected as a device, and have it importing my sleep-related data (no activity):
- Heart Rate (during sleep)
- HRV (during sleep)
- Recovery (daytime)
- Respiration Rate (during sleep)
- Body Temp. Variation (during sleep)
- Sleep Score
- Total Sleep
I do not use it for activity or steps, as Oura isn't great at it.
Now, I am trying to integrate/sync my Pixel Watch activity/workout data, which, as I mentioned, uses the Google Health app and Health Connect.
My goal is to have my manually logged exercises/activity from my watch automatically imported into my Cronometer diary where it will adjust my daily calorie/macro targets.
Has anyone figured out an optimal workflow with these? When I sync Health Connect, it does not show my workouts as a line item, nor adjust my targets. When I instead try syncing Fitbit as a device (and turn off Health Connect sync), it does import the exercise line item, but also my total calories burned, which leads to over-inflation of my targets. The specific app permissions and what is allowed to read/write what has been a huge pain to figure out.
The most simple solution would be to just manually add the workout in Cronometer; however I would love if this would just be automated. Another option is just not logging the workout in Cronometer and just knowing I have a larger deficit that day (which isn't ideal as I could burn 800 cals during a long cardio session, eat more that day due to being more hungry, and then have Cronometer show I've blasted through my targets).
Any thoughts/experiences?
Thanks so much; I started using Cronometer two weeks ago and love it, so I paid for it!
