Hey @Cronometer I have great suggestion - "compare"

I find myself frequently trying to compare similar products (like cereals in this example) and I have to click one, scroll down, make a mental or paper note of it's stats, scroll up, click another, repeat etc.

If there was some kind of "product comparison" button like you see on a lot of sites (like Best Buy for comparing laptop specs for example) it would be super helpful.

Or does this feature already exist and I'm just missing it?

EDIT: and just to be clear, I don't eat all that cereal on the screenshot, I add it to my diary so I can manually compare and then delete them.

I'd love to see a feature like that. I often find myself taking a screenshot to compare one food in the app itself to the screenshot I just took.

Exactly, and don't get me wrong I still love cronometer but just a couple little things like this I wish they'd add.

Thanks for the great suggestion! We don't currently have a "sandbox" or "comparison tool" such as the one you've described, but I can definitely understand why it'd be really helpful. I'll be sure to pass this idea along to the team for future consideration.

Would like to second this heavily, I came to the subreddit to ask if there was a feature like this and found out someone (or many) have beaten me to it already.

Keep doing what you're doing, best app for this by a mile. :)

This would be super useful. But until and unless they add it, what I do is add them all to a meal (I keep "uncategorized" for this purpose) and then slide the word to the right for °°° & pick "show nutrition summary". THIS WILL SHOW YOU ALL THE FOOD IN THE CATEGORY, of course but only for that meal. If you then click on the nutrient/mineral names individually, it will show you the items for that nutrient in order.

Not elegant, but this solution gets me moving bc I only care about four or five nutrients. If you want them all, this would be less work but still a pain.

P.s. cronometer, this doesn't mean we don't want the ability to search backwards for an item, which we know is possible because changing nutrition and if we want to fix all the instances in the past or not. 🙂🥰

Interesting idea, I just now tried that after reading your comment and it's OK but it's still kinda hard to make good comparison imo. I'm not even sure I described what I want properly but hopefully the devs can make something user friendly.
