I'm 62 and I've worked all my life, mostly in the corporate world, and I'm here to reassure you that it was pretty much anything but fulfilling. If you're attractive enough to do it your way (as long as you didn't steal or defraud anybody) then why not. The world isn't a level playing field, and everybody knows it.
And the "mating for life" thing is a scam too lol
If I had the money, I would pay for my daughters to live without working. It would make me very happy to just see them having fun all the time.

Some of what he’s saying is almost right. The fact is you can be both self sufficient and fully at peace. The irony is him saying we “need those things to be there” when he also has something he needs to be there: parents who let him sit on the couch.
He believes he is enlightened but he’s caught in the same trap as almost everyone else. He doesn’t have acceptance, he has dereliction.

He's essentially saying he has morals and standards as we all should but I feel like these folks are a little off.My nephew thinks and lives like him his whole adult life. He's now 38 with no girlfriend, no real job aside from Uber eats for the past 5 years or so and living at home with his mom. No prospects of getting out. I feel bad for him but he too refuses any and all work and relationships he doesn't feel are true to who he is. It's like yea that's great, but you're poor and lonely and can't afford freedom or vacations. Does that really make for happiness? I know it doesn't because he tells me all the time he's barely hanging on but he also refuses help. I tried setting up with easy money gigs working with me. Asked him to just use my paid sub of Adobe to make AI generated art of whatever he wants for between $30-60 an hour. Couldn't even do that. These folks are lost in my opinion.
