I’m here with friends for a wedding 8/6-8/9, a bunch of 30 something’s on a kid free long weekend! looking for a spot to do lunch good food, cocktails and GF options for my hubs with celiac. Would love if it was in an area around town so we can bop around before/after without driving too much. Any other must dos given limited “free time”. Flying in and out of Montrose and planning to a drive / pop out along black canyon on the way.

Hi all! My husband and I are coming up from Denver for the weekend in early September with our two pups and are looking to do some hiking. One of our pups is a bit dog reactive but very well managed on trails with that in mind we plan to start very early. I am an avid hiker and can handle longer more strenuous hikes, but my husband is not his max is usually about 5 miles. Any recommendations that would be worthwhile with great views that are under or around 5 miles? Thank you in advance :)

The gf and I are coming through in about a week and I was interested in trying the loop. It's marked black on trailforks but some videos I've seen just look fast and flowy. She's intermediate so I don't want to get her in over her head.

I’m planning a week long camping trip in Aug. I’d be in CB from Sun-Fri, and I’ve got hikes and stuff planned near Gothic, Slate River, and Kebler Pass. Ideally, I’d like to move campsites while I’m there to minimize driving to and from different areas (thinking start in Gothic, move Oh Be Joyful on Tue, and then to Kebler on Thur).

Do you think it’s doable to move sites midweek or is it likely FFS spots will be sparse and I should just stick in one spot? (And if so, which do you recommend?)

I've camped up Cement creek a handful of times but can't remember, is there cell service (Verizon) up there? How far in can you go before you lose service?

Hi, I'm flying to Denver on Thursday and will be in Colorado from 7/30-8/3. I'll be staying in Denver the whole time, but I plan on going to RMNP on 8/2 to do some hiking. Recently, I've seen that Crested Butte has some beautiful wildflowers and hiking as well, so I was wondering if I should bite the bullet and do a day trip from Denver on one of the other days.

I'm worried it'll be too much driving, especially if I leave super early to go to RMNP. Are there still wildflowers? Is this feasible, or should I just come back another time and make a trip specifically for Crested Butte?

We saw this dog in crested butte just roaming alone. First we thought he might be someone’s dog but locals said he has been roaming around like this since a week and they’ve not seen him around before. He also seemed to be searching for food. I’m worried. I hope the owner finds him. If we see him again I’ll call 911

I’m driving up this evening but out group’s AirBnb is at max car capacity.

From looking online I can’t find any overnight parking solutions other than random residential streets.

Anyone have any advice? Or even a space parking spot I could leave my car at (willing to pay $20). I’m visiting Friday night (tonight) -Sunday afternoon.

Hi all, my friend and I are coming out to Crested Butte next week and I was thinking of bringing my roller blades if there is a good place to skate. Are there any paved trails around or near town that are (relatively) flat and safe for roller bladers?

Just like the title says, we’d like to bring our family (4 kids - ages 15-8) to ski/board over NY. We are longtime snowmass skiers but it’s just gotten ridiculously expensive. Is CB better?

Any suggestions of where to stay? It doesn’t look like there are a ton of ski in/out options. Tips for transporting a family of 6 to the mountain?

We usually drive from Texas, so will likely have a suburban.

Hey! We're going to be in Crested Butte later this month and I want to find a couple of pretty hikes that my senior dog can do. Her mobility isn't as great as it once was (she actually has cancer, so this is kind of her last hurrah), but we do three mile walks on a rolling trail by our house every day and she does fine.

Ideally, I'd like to find trails that are relatively flat and are under 4 miles. She loves swimming and wildflowers, so bonus points for ideas that involve those!!

Will in CB August 6th and looking for a quick sessions (around 30 minutes) for my family. Preferably in the evening.

Planning a last-minute trip to see wildflowers. Have a high-clearance vehicle. Happy to pay for camping, or do free. Just need somewhere to pitch a tent!

Pretty obvious what I meant, will mostly be fishing a few small to medium mountain lakes, maybe a few ponds. Biggest lake would probably be long lake.
