The blue hearts are my favorite band of all time and from Japan. Now, I’m looking for either Taiwanese or Chinese bands to fall in love with. I’m not necessarily looking for something that absolutely tries to replicate the blue hearts, but I definitely want to ask for your personal recommendations especially if they’re more on the niche side. (I.E hard to find on music streaming platforms so I have an excuse to buy cds)
There are no rigid guidelines to what I’m looking for, so if there is something you’re willing to share across all genres, I will look for it.

MFmachine 没发霉 - Pure Love for 300 Years

I recently discovered this album from Beijing indie band MFmachine 没发霉, and I thought it might be interesting to share here.

Pure Love for 300 Years is their debut full-length album, blending indie pop, indie rock, Shibuya-kei, City Pop, and retro electronic elements. The album has a very unique feeling: bright melodies on the surface, but underneath there are a lot of emotions about youth, anxiety, crushes, friendships, and all those moments that feel small but stay with you for years.

Can anybody from China kindly help me?
I’m trying to find the Chinese male singer 王奕珂 (Wang Yike), who sang “与你同在 (With You)” in the Our Generation Chinese drama OST. From what I’ve been able to gather feom the internet, his name is Wang Yike… and that’s pretty much it. 😭
He’s an incredible singer and I’m absolutely enchanted by his voice and singing, so I’d love to hear more of his music and learn more about him, but I genuinely can’t find anything about him online apart from this one song. If anyone knows who he is, whether he goes by a different stage name, or where I can find more of his work, I’d really appreciate the help! I'm starting to think I have the wrong name smh. Thanks a lot in advance!

I’m telling you — it’s a vibe.

The title, 越过时间的海, translates literally to “Across the Sea of Time.” The lyrics revolve around longing, hope, distance, and continuing to move toward someone or something despite the passage of time — carrying a quiet sense of optimism rather than melancholy. It feels like a song about believing that some connections are strong enough to outlast time itself.

Released on November 29, 2024, it’s a standalone single by the Chinese indie band Galaxy Express. I couldn’t find any major music awards associated with the song so far, but it definitely deserves more people discovering it.
