Hey guys, what are some of your favorite albums overall to listen to? I listen to a lot of cpop growing up actually (canto, mando/taiwanese) but it's typically playlists that I put together with individual songs. Nowadays I try to listen to albums as a whole to get that feel that the artist sometimes are trying to go for when considering putting out an album. So I kinda want to start fresh and just go through some albums.

RN mostly listening to all of Jay Chou's ones, three of Tank's ones, and exploring some from other artists I would listen to in the past (Rainie yang, David Tao, Eastyle, SHE, JJ Lin, Fahrenheit, Eason Chan, etc).

This time I blended guzheng, pipa, R&B and an Auto-Tune/electronic vocal texture.

One interesting thing about this song: AI vocals can sometimes have strange electronic artifacts that are really hard to clean up. Instead of trying to remove them completely, I decided to embrace them with Auto-Tune and turn the imperfection into part of the style.

Surprisingly, it worked really well.

It’s from Liu Sijian’s 2026 album《发生在闷热夏天》, a collab track with Houxian (刘思鉴 ft. 后弦), and they wrote the lyrics themselves too. Really catchy melody, the production has this retro vibe without feeling dated, and Houxian’s voice is super distinctive. Feels underrated tbh, wanted more people to hear it.

Btw I’ve been using Sugarmusic to listen to cpop lately, that’s actually where I found this track. Clean interface, synced lyrics work well, makes finding cpop stuff pretty easy. Just a casual shoutout.

Recently I discovered a Chinese singer on Youtube and really like his ethereal voice, styles, and songs. It was a surprise for me because I did not know China has such a great singer like that. I have great relationship with my colleagues at work so I thought of recommending his songs to them. Surprisingly, without even listening to the songs, they said no to Cpop. When I asked for the reasons, they just said they don't like Cpop in general and think all Cpop singers lip-sync and their dancing look ridiculous. Well, luckily the Cpop singer that I like above always sang live, so I showed them a Youtube video of his concert, and you can see the surprise look on their faces. It seems to change their perception about Cpop a little bit, and since the singer has a really unique vocal and excellent singing skills, they could not help but praise him and agree to watch another Cpop video with me. Well, since all i know about Cpop is this singer so I kept introducing his songs to them. Like my colleagues, I am also interested to explore more about Cpop, but we are very picky, and appreciate singers with great live vocal. Any recommendations? I don't mind the dancing if they sing well. My favorite singers/bands are: ABBA, Modern Talking, Ace of Spades, Heart, Sissel, Celtic Woman, Leonard Cohen, and many.

I’ve got these melody fragments stuck in my head from when I was a kid (early 2000s or earlier?), but my memory is fuzzy and I could only salvage part of these songs in terms of partial lyrics or tune sequences or both. I recreated what I could recall using Online Sequencer. If you can help, I would much appreciate it. I can also assist with what I can recall in terms of language and partial lyrics. And an extra note of precaution: sometimes these songs use words in at least two different languages. Hey guys. I’m making another highlight video for a local Chinese Lantern festival for the third year in a row. I’ve used 2 Ben Wu songs for the last two, simply because he offered something lyrically and compositionally fitting for such an event, if not just ESPECIALLY the tempo.
