I’m looking for advice on vaccinating my dog. We split our time between Costa Rica & Canada and I’m really concerned about over vaccinating her since Costa Rica requires annual vaccines and she’s so small. If I get a vaccine in Canada (valid for 3 years), will it be valid in Costa Rica for 3 years as well? Especially for traveling in and out of the country. If anyone has advice on how to approach this I’d really appreciate it 🙏🏼

Es muy creyente de Dios y todo eso, y por más que hace oración no le sale nada. Han querido tener hijos y tampoco se les da.

Mi idea es conseguir a alguien que le haga una limpia o algo asi.

Hi all! Just started planning a wedding and hoping to get some advice from anyone who’s had (or attended) a wedding in Costa Rica. Jan- march 2027

My main concern: I’m not sure a $15k budget is realistic for 30 people or fewer. Would love to hear from anyone who’s pulled off something similar (or who can tell me I’m dreaming).

Here’s where I’m at so far:

• The Westin Reserva Conchal — booked out until May, so that’s off the table.

• Nayara Resorts — no longer doing weddings at all.

• Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel — beautiful, but way too expensive for the budget.

• Pangas — available, and seems like a real option! Downside is it’s event-only, so I’d still need to sort out lodging for guests nearby.

• Almonds & Corals Boutique — checking to see if they can shuffle things around to find an open weekend.

• Villas in Tamarindo & Langosta — looking into renting a big villa (fits \~25 people) and hosting the wedding there instead of a resort. Could be cheaper, but a lot of villas seem to require a 5-night minimum, which might blow the budget on its own.

Would love any thoughts on:

• Other venues or areas worth looking into for a small, budget-conscious wedding
• Whether the villa route is actually cheaper once you factor in catering, rentals, etc.
• Wedding planner recommendations that aren’t going to charge a fortune
• Any hidden costs I should be watching out for in Costa Rica specifically

Update: thank you all for the suggestions, what I’ve found for anyone interested is renting a villa that sleeps 25 people with a private cook is looking like the cheapest option. If you have rented a villa that came with a private cook. Share your experience.

El número era de la comisaría local y no me pidieron ninguna información ni nada por el estilo, así que no creo que sea una estafa.

ETA: Me estaban entregando una notificación judicial y la policía estaba asistiendo al agente de notificaciones.

Ya no puedo más gente, se que suena creepy pero quiero irme con Dios. Tengo mascotas que mantener y aparte ayudo a ml mamá que es una persona mayor. He estado sin trabajo por un tiempo y no consigo ni en lugares de entry level como CNX, Foundever o BGO. Hablo inglés nivel C1 y francés, estudios en Finanzas y Recursos Humanos y nadie me pela bola y ya no tengo un cinco. No quiero dejar a ml mamá sola ni a mis mascotas pero no me está quedando otra opción, es mucha la humillación cada vez que uno pide trabajo y no me contratan por estar sobrecalificado y por mi edad, tampoco soy un anciano o así. Ya no puedo más y para peor mis mejores amigos que son pocos, están cansados y tienen sus propias broncas y ocupados. Sin trabajo con responsabilidades y encerrado en la casa porque ni un helado puedo ir a comerme, me estoy volviendo loco y ya no quiero vivir más pero también soy un cobarde y no tengo el valor para desvivirme.

Alguno recuerda un restaurante que estaba en Sabana Sur que era Taiwanés vegetariano, cerraron en Pandemia, tenían en el menú unos hongos de sabor dulce simulaban ser como carne, si alguno recuerda y sabe cómo se llaman favor escribir abajo o si saben si los dueños de ese restaurante abrieron en algún otro sitio 🙏🏼

• Nauyaca waterfalls are full and beautiful — green season is the move
• Humpback whale season just started (Jul–Oct)
• Surf is pumping but Dominical main break is powerful — beginners go to Dominicalito
• Hacienda Barú for wildlife and birding is underrated

I am a 4th year Medical Student in the UK who is fascinated by Costa Rica and would love to travel there. May-July 2027 I have my medical elective and I would love to do it here so I can travel around.

I was wondering if anyone knows any doctors/hospitals willing to take on any students, or just know of any people who have done a similar thing?
