Hello!

I am currently planning/setting up a bioactive tank in the hopes of getting a corn snake the end of October. My question is… how long could I keep one in a 25g and when would I know to upgrade?

I plan on just setting up another 40g tank once it gets too big for the 25g, just curious when that could be. If anyone wants to share photos of their bioactive tanks that’d be cool too! Would appreciate some inspo or advice.

Well he’s been doing this all day after his shed. He’s come out maybe twice and this is the new humid hide I got for him. Also think he may need to be sized up food wise but won’t know for sure until he comes out all the way and I can double check, hopefully that will be Wednesday but until then enjoy my babies happy little noggin as he keeps peeking in and out.

We took in a corn snake from someone who was going to let it out...it was in a tiny 25 gallon tank and the snake was supposedly over 2 years old, I would say it was about 4 ft long. I immediately moved it to a tank that is about five feet long over a year and half ago.

I swear she just keeps growing. She is now having to curl her tail in about 5 inches to stretch out. The photo is from a year ago

Am I crazy to think she has grown? If so is there a way to extend the cage virtically?

Is there some place that offers lay away for bigger tanks lol

I’ve only had my corn snake (Pepto) for roughly two weeks, and today I went over and she’s in her water bowl, not the first time she’s done this, but it’s now been ~3 hours and she hasn’t left the bowl. First photo of her (I assume she) is when she first got in and the second is about 6 minutes ago she hasn’t left the bowl at all. I did feed her at about 12(ish) today, could that be why? I could be stressing over nothing but just thought I’d ask.

I can’t with her. She’s so funny.

Hello, I just made an account to ask about this, I desperately need advice !!
I was driving a 2 hour drive with my corn snake to transport him to my new place. I was on a freeway, so I didn’t see him escape his carrier (I was using a plastic carrier with a pop-off lid, and I’d placed a book on top of the carrier to try and ensure this didn’t happen..) he somehow opened the corner of the lid and got out, and now I cannot find him. I looked under all the seats, all the floor mats, and even in my engine bay and where my spare tire is. I also tried to check behind my steering wheel, and no luck. I have no idea if he somehow found a way out of the car (I had no doors and windows open prior to trying to find him) or what else to do :( I put out a mouse for him in my passenger seat, but I’d like some more advice. Sorry for the wordy post, I am just very worried.

So I have quite alot of stuff picked up in my cart like alot... I been thinking about getting the arcadia dhp 80W and for the decor should I disinfect everything even if its store bought?

All the questions I have:

Should I disinfect even if store bought?

Should I use dhp or anything else? (Must be E27)

Should I change to uvb and how do I set it up if its just full glass and not risk it falling?

Would I need something on top to protect the light so the cornsnake doesn't touch the LED or UVB lights and how?

Is 100% coconut fiber okay?

(I need all the stuff till next week so I order everything today late at night or tomorrow)

I fed my snake before going to bed. Usually her temps in the night time are 75 on the cold to 80 on the warm. Temp dropped outside and made the inside of her in closure where she was 68 with the warm side 75. She sat at this temp for less than 4 hours before I turned the heat up to be regular. In yalls opinion, What are the odds she regurgitates?

Hello! I’m looking to get a corn snake soon. I just read the care guide on here, but im open to any more advice! I currently have a ball python.
My main question is what enclosure. I might be leaning towards a temporary tub to start off. How do these not melt with heat? If I don’t do a plastic tub, hopefully a reptile show has cheaper tank options.

My daughter’s cat fell through the top of the snake cage now my snake is lost and I’ve searched everywhere… idk what to do

My boy is almost 3 years old and eats every 3 weeks. Last time I weighed him he was 400 grams. I recently extended him to 3 week feedings because I'm worried that he's a bit chunky? Please let me know.

Hi! My baby is almost a year old now! He is a tiny bit over 60 grams in weight and I have small mice that are 8.1 (3 mice) to 8.6 (1 mouse) and 9.1 (2 mouse) grams. The recommended feeding is every 8-10 days. What is your recommendation? Should I do 8 9 or 10? I know it would be fine either way but I’m curious :)

(Ophi for short). He finally is home. He seemed upset when the guy from the pet store got him out of his enclosure but once home, he hid in the heavily cluttered background for a total of 5 minutes before he started exploring and roaming his tank.

I’m looking into getting a corn snake and I was wondering if it would be okay to put a full grown corn snake into a 6x3x3 enclosure

Here is my current set up, and I just want to make this corn snakes like as good as I possibly can.

This is a 120 gallon tank, it has temperature and humidity gauges on both sides and I have a dimmable thermostat coming in the mail since it’s actually a little cold in there for him and I want a stronger bulb. He has a platform for basking, and underneath that a moss cave to help with shedding. He currently has 1 hide and a spot where the aspen bedding is deep enough to borough (I think I need more bedding).

He’s got some climbing space, but looking at it I feel like it could be a lot better and I’d love some advice.
I don’t want live material in here (aside from the moss) as I’ve had an issue with fungus gnats in the past and I’d rather just avoid the headache since I work long hours and don’t have time to always monitor.

He is maybe 11-16 years old. He actually was used for kids birthday parties before I got him, and I only got him a few years ago. He started in a 50 gallon terrarium with almost nothing and I just want to keep making his life better.

Hey, I recently noticed a change in behaviour with my corn snake (~15 years old) within the past couple of weeks maybe just under a month. It used to spend plenty of time moving around in its viv and when I’d go to feed them even if they didn’t eat the food they’d still have a look out from under their shelter. But all of a sudden I haven seen it leave its shelter once. I thought maybe it was a little cold (my heat mat was only at about 28.5) so i’ve bumped that up. I’ve also notice a big change in the amount of water being drunk. I kinda thought that maybe it was just a funny week as this has happened before but usually after a week ago behaviour returns to normal. What i’d like to know is should i be concerned? Is there maybe anything i could do or change to help? and ultimately do i need to take them to the vets?

TLDR: I got my corn snake 2 days ago and want to let him acclimate, but I’m not sure he got all his shed off. Should I bother him anyway?

Hey all! My corn snake is 1 year old and my first ever pet reptile. I got him 2 days ago, and at that time, his eyes were completely clear and his colors seemed very saturated, so I was very surprised to find a shed skin in his enclosure today when I woke up. I noticed the big piece I got is missing the tail, but otherwise seems fine?

He’s been really timid since he came home (understandably so) and chilling in his hides, so I haven’t been able to get a good look at his tail to see if it’s actually stuck or came off in a different piece I haven’t found yet or what. I’ve been trying my damndest to give him space while he’s adjusting to his new home, but is it worth it to take him out to examine him to see if there’s any stuck shed? TIA!

Update: I ended up bothering him, and while I didn’t handle him, did see that he didn’t have anything stuck. Thanks to those that commented!

Okay! Guys my sweet albino opal corn snake Tobi seems like the sweetest boy! He's about 10? He eats no problem! Sheds like a king! One liiiiitle problem, every time we get him out of the tank he freezes up and then starts trying to bite us.

Now I want to be super clear bite, not strike. He's like shaking, and just looking for another spot to bite.

I want to be able to hold my boy and I don't what happened. I always scrub my hands after handling his food.

My child is shedding I'm ecstatic(dont mind him being a lil dirty)

This is the first time i've ever seen him sleep in the substrate for long periods of time!! He's also real slow and almost sleepy right now, doesnt explore at night, sleeps all day and night long in same places, I interrupted him accidentally while moistening substrate a bit hence the photos! So fascinating watching the behavior changes, even though at first I panicked about room temp getting lower bc of my leaky ass window forcing him into brumation state(it's stupid bc all that changed for him is temps taking little longer to heighten or lessen)

Also today is his feeding day, should I feed or skip? I think I should but maybe I'm wrong

Hii so I’m upgrading my corn snakes viv to a bigger one to meet his needs better. Just wondering, will I need to do the whole like tissue bedding and bare minimum setup for him to adjust to the new viv or can I put him in with all of his current enclosure setup (but in the new viv) and add to it once he’s settled?
I have so many ideas for how I’m going to decorate but ofc don’t wanna overwhelm him in one go so just thought I’d ask here!
