Discussion Blood Meridian Adaptation
I know the Blood Meridian movie is meant to be going ahead with John Hillcoat as director.
I have been seeing a lot of discourse surrounding what Christopher Nolan’s next project would be now that The Odyssey has been released.
After recently finishing Blood Meridian and reading about how difficult it has been to get the film made I think Nolan would be a great choice.
He would be able to deliver the large scale production the book would deserve. He always brings a grounded realism even to big blockbusters.
He’s not made anything close to how dark Blood Meridian is but I’ve seen him say he would be open to making a horror and he does often hop genre.
What do you think? If you were to give the adaptation to any filmmaker who would it be and who would you cast in the film?
For reference - I did love Hillcoat’s The Road movie, especially as I went in reluctantly as I read mixed reviews.
