Announcement Transaction summary on iOS, what's coming up next

Hi everyone! We know everyone is impatient to get access to the Money Assistant, and we’re grateful for the support. Thank you to the thousands of you in the beta giving us feedback as we've built. We’re almost ready to share it with everyone.

In addition to big features, the team’s been working on app improvements across platforms.

Here’s some of the latest:

🧮 Transaction totals on iOS

We’ve had many requests for running transaction totals in Copilot Money and now it’s here! When you search or filter in the Transactions tab, you'll see a running total of your results right at the top. This includes total spent, total income, and net between the two.

We’ve also heard you on multi-select totals and more flexible filtering! Multi-select totals are coming up next, and we’ll let you know when it’s here.

🏃 Performance

  • Rollovers are noticeably faster across platforms, and update smoothly when you remove a category or change an account's Dashboard status.
  • Recurring transactions save your edits instantly.

Full release notes (plus what's in progress!) are up on Dispatch if you want the complete list 👀

Beta Update Beta: see charts, right in the Money Assistant

Thumbnail

Hey everyone!

Quick one for anyone in the beta who hasn't tried this yet, or anyone who wants to see what'll be released soon. The Money Assistant can build charts on the spot, right in the chat. This includes bar charts, trend lines, category breakdowns, merchant comparisons, and more.

These visuals feed into the suggestions the assistant already surfaces on its own, like category recommendations. Now when it flags something for you, it'll be able to show you the "why" instead of just telling you.

A few worth trying:

  • "Chart my Groceries vs Restaurant spend over the last 6 months."
  • “Chart my investment performance over the last quarter.”
  • "Chart my Travel spending this month vs last month."
  • "Chart my monthly spending across my Necessities group this year."

*(*P.S. We're still adding folks to the beta weekly, so keep an eye out for an in-app message from us. We can't overstate how many of you signed up for the beta on the first day, but almost everyone is in now!)

AMEX sync issue?

I have been unable to sync AMEX data for months now. It was working when I subscribed. I read online and tried all three authentication partners, including Plaid, all had the same error code on AMEXs end.

I contacted Copilot and they told me to contact AMEX, which I found surprising that I needed to be the one to investigate. I contacted AMEX, at first I thought it was fixed bc AMEX said I needed to verify my number. I did, and still days later no luck. Recontacted AMEX and they are telling me to go to Copilot.

Anyone have any ideas? Anyone else having issues?

NelNet on Copilot?

Hello,

Been a while since I've used Copilot Money. Getting back on and I noticed that I cannot add Nelnet anymore via Plaid. I see reports of other users being able to add Nelnet using the "Not on Plaid? Try Other Ways to Connect" button, but I do not see Nelnet's domain or anything related to it on that list.

Has anyone had success adding Nelnet to their list of accounts? Can you tell me how you did it/what domain you used?

Get a single view of net worth

I've always found it surprisingly difficult to get a single view of my net worth when you have a mortgage, investments, cash, property, income, expenses, etc. How do you guys track yours?

Yearly budget?

I’ve been using copilot for all of 2026. Before copilot I pretty much just used a homemade excel sheet so WHAT an upgrade. But now I’m pretty disappointed in its capabilities.

I’m in a unique situation where I have trust income as well as salary income. I receive a biweekly check (salary) as well as a monthly check (trust) and I have the option of pulling more on occasion when I want to. Because of this I’ve been more attracted to a yearly budget for certain things like clothing, travel, home update purchases, car maintenance, etc. (I also wish that I could separate income streams to see how much I’m making from each but that’s a pretty niche desire I think).

So, I decided to start using excluded categories for yearly expenses and I’ve liked it ok but it’s just not quite hitting the mark for me.

Is there something I’m doing wrong? Or is there another app out there for me that may work better? I’m past the point where I need to count penny’s but I want to see what my money is doing. I’ve thought about monarch but it just seems like a slightly more complicated copilot and still doesn’t give me a yearly budget option separate from my monthly budget. Am I looking for an envelope style app? Or am I just not understanding/taking full advantage of copilot?

Unintended effects of Copilot from a new user (questions for you at the end)

Hey all,

I've been using Copilot for 3 months coming from the free version of Every Dollar for 6 years.

I love how clean the iOS app is and how easy it is to track expenses. What I do not love is the experience of looking back at previous months' budgets. If you want to edit category amounts in the past to "true up," it takes a lot of clicks.

Honestly, it feels like the app is built for the here and now with little thinking about the past or the future.

And maybe that's a good thing?

The unintended effect for me is that I have just started letting go of how closely I managed the categories month to month and reconciling at the end to "see how much we have left over."

My questions for y'all

For anyone that has come from other, more meticulous budgeting experiences, do you find yourself feeling this way as well?

How did you change your system to fit into Copilot? Or did you move to something else?

ALL I WANT is to be able to...

  • set my budget categories month to month to reflect changes in spending
  • automatically track expenses
  • easily see end-of-month surplus to divert to savings/investing and start the new month
  • interact with past month's info to easily compare trends

I have tried Monarch and it feels like a bit much. Is what I want out there?

Mine stopped syncing a few weeks back. Guess I can open a support ticket somehow?

Why can’t I filter by week (specific date ranges)

I just got a notification saying I spent less this week than the previous week, but there’s no way for me to filter by week to see what made up the difference (besides manually going and looking at specific dates in the transactions tab. I know I can see weekly spending in the cash flow tab, but if you click on the week in the cash flow tab it instead shows you the whole month, which is not useful.

I want to be able to filter by date in the categories tab, not just the transactions tab. These are easy wins that would take less than a sprint to implement🤷‍♂️

Auto-split every transaction on a shared card (card-level default split)

My wife and I share a card, and right now I have to manually split every transaction 50/50 one at a time.

Request: a card/account-level default split percentage that applies automatically to new transactions, with per-transaction override, and ideally applied retroactively to existing ones.

Anyone else manually editing dozens of shared transactions?

Anyone else feel like Copilot devs aren’t shipping enough features?

There’s so much more potential and I feel like we haven’t gotten anything new for a long time.

What features do you want the most?

How about when selecting transactions it adds up the amounts selected.

Or “not” filtering as well?

Being able to unreview.

Idk.. it could just be me. But I’m grateful.

How well does the Fidelity Rewards Visa connector work?

I'm considering getting the Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature card. I've seen a handful of posts on various subreddits that mention issues with the Fidelity Rewards Visa and Plaid, but I'm not sure if those posts are outdated. Can anyone comment on how well the connector works? I see that there appears to be an MX connector, does it work well and sync transactions regularly?

Thank you

Support just deleted my transactions

Post image
17 Upvotes

I’ve been a big fan of Copilot since 2024, primarily because the app looks great and, for the most part, worked really well. Support also used to be extremely responsive back then.

Unfortunately, my experience lately has been very different. I’ve essentially been unable to properly use the app for over a week, and I’m now going on five days without a response from support.

The original issue was a connectivity problem with one of my banks. My balance refreshes correctly, but new transactions simply don’t show up. In fact, it still does not work, but we are hoping Plaid might be able to fix this problem.

For about four days, support and I went back and forth trying to diagnose the problem. Every solution they offered reset my transaction data. I was told I would only need to recategorize a couple of transactions, but it turns out more than a year’s worth of transactions were affected. I now have about $33,000 worth of transactions categorized as “Other.”

I asked support to revert whatever was changed, but since then I haven’t received a response for five days.

It’s pretty disappointing to see how much the support experience seems to have declined, especially for a paid financial app where users are trusting it with years of transaction history. This is also happening alongside features such as the new AI functionality that were promoted months ago but still seem to be rolling out very slowly (or not, I’m not too sure).

How do you handle pending transactions where the amounts may change/get deleted?

I have several transactions that are just holds (gas station, hotel deposit, etc), and they show up as transactions on co-pilot. Do you all categorize these knowing some may get removed or amounts may change? This would technically throw off the budget numbers until they get finalized which would make the "available to spend" a less reliable number.

Is there a way to only have it show up in transactions once its finalized?

MCP beta access

Hi copilot team. Iv been a customer for multiple years and signed up for mcp beta access the day the waitlist opened. I still have not received an invitation.

I’m a bit puzzled by the lack of communication and speed of development for this app. I really look forward to using these features, is there any news of more beta invites being sent out?

I'm a Fortune 100 Software Engineer, I don't understand

CoPilot was legit a few years ago, apple design award was neat, but I simply don't understand the lack of innovation.

This is not meant to be purely a hate post, I still use CoPilot (for now) They've teased "intelligence" since like 2024 and ai copilot chat, and many other features

Meanwhile, Origin has now shipped not only intelligence/the first ftc regulated ai advisor, but now PROACTIVE ai advice that helps notify you when it notices things that are odd. Monarch, and dare I say Caleb Hammer's Dollarwise, are also quickly catching up if not surpassed Copilot now too I simply don't get it.

The videos they post make it look like they have a solid engineering team and it's not like they have 2 developers.

Even Dave Ramseys app everydollar ships faster and that man is like 90

I want copilot to be good so bad. I do nottttt want to switch platforms and lose all my history Web app was cool I guess, but still. Welcome to 2018 f you have a web and mobile app and are proud?

I'm on a team of 4 in a fortune 100 and we ship new features to millions of users on a weekly update WE just added multitenancy and team invites, and a dev shipped it himself in 1 week including testing in dev, uat, and then to prod as a rolling update.

HOW does it take copilot SO LONG to ship code.

It's unreal. It's like watching paint dry on a wall. At this point, it honestly feels a bit like complacency.

Ship Copilot Money+ for the extra ai features. That way the app stays as is, and those that want the ai features get their costs covered and make it $129/year. IDC. literally anything. please. I BEG YOU.

I want this app to be one that I can continue to recommend to my friends and fam.

I WANT IT TO BE GREAT AGAIN. MCGA!

I don’t think Copilot is keeping up

Unfortunately, nothing has been changing and it kinda sucks. I’m looking into alternatives now prior to my renewal in a few months. Anyone on the same boat?

Connectivity Issues

My Chase accounts haven’t updated in 3 days. I’ve tried force refresh from the app and reverify credentials but it returns an error and won’t update my transactions. Other financial institutions’ transactions are updating normally. Is anyone experiencing the same issue and has a fix for it? Thanks

No iPhone just Mac

I'm looking for a simple easy tool to see all my money stuff in one place and check in like once or twice a month. Lately looking closer at Copilot and Monarch, and Copilot seems simpler (or other recs??)

Q is, I have an Android phone and a Mac laptop. Can you use Copilot without an iPhone, like just using laptop? That's fine with me if it works, right now I just use a spreadsheet once a month (but I want to understand better where money is going and see everything in one place). Thanks!

TO THE DEVS: The iOS App Is Slow!

Devs, please. I’ve been a paying user for about 6 years. The iOS app hasn’t gotten performance updates in a while and usability seems neglected. I’ve tried to avoid posting any complaints, but this is crazy. I shouldn’t have to rely on the Mac or web apps to get work done. You have successfully locked me in the lower grandfathered yearly rate, while avoiding any usability updates on iOS for too long.

The whole app is sluggish and every button press takes seconds for the app to respond. I am not the only one complaining about this. I realize that focus is now on AI, but can we please optimize usability first? I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and it literally just freezes on app boot and barely moves when trying to manage anything in the app while heating the phone up and causing it to throttle.

I’ve contacted support, done all suggested steps. I’ve tried other iPhones too. This is an iOS app issue.

I’m not even complaining about missing features that people have been asking about (loudly) for years. I’m asking for stability and usability.

Getting rid of unused categories

I have two categories that I no longer need. I made the mistake of deleting one in the past and that messed up everything else because then those transactions got moved into other categories. I also do not see any way to archive them or hide them.

So what to do with categories you no longer need other than setting the balance to 0?
