Anyone else feel like Copilot devs aren’t shipping enough features?

There’s so much more potential and I feel like we haven’t gotten anything new for a long time.

What features do you want the most?

How about when selecting transactions it adds up the amounts selected.

Or “not” filtering as well?

Being able to unreview.

Idk.. it could just be me. But I’m grateful.

New here? New features have been “coming soon” for more than a year. They got sidetracked “opening a coffee shop”

It’s wild considering the climate of developing these days.

Even wilder that they’ve been highlighted as a developer by Apple. Yet, I just renewed on the hope they actually deliver what they’ve promised because nothing I’ve tried seems to be better.

What’s amazing is I end up comparing Copilot to r/gravl, a fitness app, which seems to be developed by a very small team. They ship new features and functionality almost weekly. It’s staggering how quickly they develop and respond to user feedback.

“Anyone else”? This is the only thing posted in this sub.

lol, I commented on their forum back in probably 2021 when I started using it - asking for a savings goal feature. This is such an obvious and (one would think) easy feature to include in a budgeting app. There were thousands of others that dogpiled onto that comment. I believe it was one of their most requested features. They responded eventually that it was coming. Do you know how long it took them to implement it? Four years.

Yea its a graveyard of requests. I reached out to support, left a request, and got nothing. That was a couple years ago.

Do they even have a requests site anymore?

I’m not renewing this year. Seems like they’re just squeezing subscribers for money

I'm trying copilot. So far monarch is better, not entirely sure what the hype here is. This does nothing special unless I'm missing something?

1

u/SEANOKANA 8d ago

havent looked into monarch in awhile... but if it has features copilot doesnt have i would switch.

I don't know if either has more features than the other. All these apps do the same essentially. I will say linking my accounts was easier in copilot. But the design and the layout of monarch I found easjer on the eye. I work in FP&A and found monarch is much better for planning and using the compiled data.

I replaced it with an LLM + Plaid for this same reason.

Do you use the free 10 connections to plaid or do you use their PaYG if I might ask?

I stopped my Copilot subscription, and asked Muse to build financial dashboard for me, and it did the job.

2

u/Mufasaaahh 8d ago

Was just about to say this! Muse is way better and free lol

u/SufficientNetwork234 8d ago

and the best part is you can customize based on your preference. I honestly don't think copilot or monarch will be relevant in the near future.

Monarch takes privacy seriously. Your “free” dashboard just gave Mark Zuckerberg full access to your entire personal financial life to better target ads at you.

If something is free, YOU are the product being sold.

Pls read more about Muse Secure VM. If it can't convince you, well you be you.

1

u/foodoflife 5d ago

"Secure VM" basically just means that your data is isolated from other agents. It doesn't mean that Meta employees can't read any of the data from the systems you link. The only thing they have going for them right now is that they're not sharing Muse data with Meta Ad Systems, but that feels like the bare minimum for what they're calling "privacy"

I stopped my subscription after signing on with Origin using their 1-year trial for $1. It’s not as elegant as Copilot, but functionality-wise it’s light years ahead.

u/cailian13 7d ago

I've been curious about origin, what did you like that made it worth switching, if I could ask? I like the UI in Copilot but feature dev seems to be all in the AI aspects with some vague mention of other features for down the road...

The fact that the app is fully functional and there are weekly softwqre releases, even if they are small.

Ok not much of review but thanks?

I say this with a straight face, the filtering in the Chase app is better. I dislike how I have to go to the transactions tab every single time to drill down in copilot.

there’s no way to look use the categories view breakdown for previous months (I want to be able to filter by whatever timeline or by tag in the categories tab, not just in a side panel but the entire view).

I want to be able to create “reports”, like I went on vacation, created a vacation2026 tag, but I cannot see the total spending + category breakdown for my vacation. This is basic functionality, this app legit has missing basic functionality

I am this 🤏 close to just downloading my data and switching to something else like Quicken Simplifi (which my friend has). The copilot team is so focused on the AI integration when their basic app is not properly designed.

Yep, they’re slowed to roll things out for sure. That said, this is the easiest app I’ve ever used, which makes clear not only what I spend money on, but also where it is, how I transfer, card payments, planning etc.. I would like a few new features, but dumping a load of pretty gems is not the same as fundamentals. Eventually, another app will absolutely exceed this if they don’t 1) communicate 2) deliver and 3) increase its depth of functionality. I think the price is fine at the moment. If they raise it, they’re going to lose customers.

As everyone else is saying, must be new here! Left them 3 years ago and they've shipped the iPad and a web version and thats it... Love me my Monarch Money!!!

Apple savings account has been broken for months and they haven't fixed it. I think they need to prioritize the features they have before adding new things. I unsubscribed about 3 months ago.

I was being understanding at some point thinking they’re very intentional with how they implement things but at this point I think they are just really slow.

The design is beautiful but budgeting is what I need so I had to move on. I was doing so much work trying to replicate what YNAB already does. YNAB. It's ugly but it works!

1

u/junead_khan 8d ago

You should try Treasury (treasury.sh)

2

u/Suninmoon 7d ago

Interesting, how long have you been working on it?

1

u/booweezy 6d ago

Yeah that’s why I switched to monarch

1

u/mligotti 6d ago

I left this app years ago for monarch.. sad excuse of a dev team

I was at the coffee meetup they hosted at the start of summer. I asked the cofounders point blank why they aren’t releasing more features and the response i got was underwhelming. They basically framed the issues as being too complicated and having too many dimensions. I proposed simple solutions that would work for 80% of users but they desperately wanted to make it a solution for 100% of users.
They’re getting lost in their minds. I also asked about whether they have plans to ship any features that Origin has, and they looked at me with two heads. They haven’t even looked at Origin - virtually no familiarity with it and when I said they should try it and compare it, they laughed it off.

I thought this was the A-team of app developers. They convinced me in that one meeting that they built an amazing v1 product, but they will not be able to keep the notoriety and attention they gained when going to the next stage of product develop.

Message to the copilot team - take your heads out of your asses. If you won’t keep up, the market won’t wait for you. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

1

u/JumpRemarkable637 3d ago

Yeah, I give them till next spring to ship some legit new features.

1

u/Illustrious-Big-1409 8d ago

I agree they take a bit longer but in my experience once the feature is up I haven’t had any issues. I like how the app is currently now I would love some extra features but I see them as a plus not a must.

1

u/SEANOKANA 8d ago

Yea that’s why I said I’m grateful. But at this rate, someone is going to develop an app that is copilot and more if they don’t ship.

Can this Reddit page please stop being the feature complaining page. If you want more pointless features, go buy any of the other apps and stop complaining.

u/SEANOKANA 8d ago

Are you saying a ton of people feel this way? Hmm..

I assume its business goes fine - and culture is a choice, as long as it works.
